Secretly Married to the Ice-Cold CEO
Chapter 356: You Can’t Ignore Me
CHAPTER 356: CHAPTER 356: YOU CAN’T IGNORE ME
The hotel manager heard the president was going to personally ask questions, and he hurried over in a fluster, explained to the president: "President, we did try to persuade Madam to go upstairs, but she said you weren’t in the room and she wanted to wait here for you..."
You really can’t blame them for this!
If you want to talk about oversight, they neglected to bring a cloak for Madam. Even for a regular guest, they should provide a cloak.
The manager was sweating profusely. At this hour, he really couldn’t get any peace. He hoped the president wouldn’t put him on a blacklist, otherwise all these years working at the hotel would be for nothing.
Gu Yikun didn’t have time for a reprimand. He walked over to the lounge area to wake up An Junxi, saw she was sleeping deeply, and bent down to pick her up.
An Junxi’s body suddenly felt weightless. She woke up, her drowsy eyes gradually focusing on the person in front of her.
"Yi Ke, where did you go?"
Gu Yikun carried her into the elevator, the manager bowing and scraping as he pressed the button. "President, Madam, good night."
An Junxi tried to get down, but Gu Yikun didn’t let go. "Don’t move."
Seeing his thin lips tightly pressed and his gaze somewhat stern, she asked, "Are you angry? Why?"
Gu Yikun didn’t speak. He carried her back to the room, laid her on the bed, and turned to grab a bathrobe to shower.
An Junxi sat there a bit bewildered. Why was he angry?
He didn’t come back in the middle of the night, she went to find him. Was that her fault?
Besides, she hadn’t even asked him where he went and who he was with so late!
An Junxi didn’t pursue the question further. She turned her back to his side of the bed, curling up on the edge and pulling the covers over herself.
She couldn’t sleep, listening intently for sounds from the bathroom. After about twenty minutes, Gu Yikun came out.
She closed her eyes, hearing him drink a glass of water and then return to the bed.
Gu Yikun saw An Junxi sleeping near the edge of the bed, as if wanting to keep a great distance from him.
He lay down in the wide empty space, tugging on the blanket but not moving.
Hiding under the covers, An Junxi held onto the blanket tightly. Hmph, let him freeze!
Gu Yikun turned off the wall lamp, darkening the room except for a little bit of light from the exterior building decorations.
Under the covers, An Junxi started to sweat. Why hadn’t he moved? Was he asleep?
She felt aggrieved, holding out for a while longer but still no movement from him.
This jerk, was he starting a cold war with her?
An Junxi covertly exposed a small gap for fresh air; she was almost suffocating.
Just as she slightly lifted the blanket, Gu Yikun suddenly reached out and pulled both the blanket and her over to him.
An Junxi wouldn’t surrender, "Don’t steal my blanket!"
Gu Yikun lifted the blanket, his big hand touching the thin sweat on her forehead, and wiped it a few times.
An Junxi pushed his hand away, but Gu Yikun firmly hugged her close and said, "I wasn’t in the room and you waited here for me. Why go out so late? You went out without your phone, wearing just this one piece of clothing and fell asleep in the lobby. The staff told you to return to the room but you didn’t listen. Do you think I shouldn’t be angry?"
An Junxi turned her head away, "You went looking for He Sirui so late, I should be the one angry."
"Who said I went looking for He Sirui?" He just went to meet his little lover.
"Don’t argue, arguing means you’re guilty."
Gu Yikun sighed, lowering his head to kiss her, "Where did you hear that from? I really wasn’t looking for her, just had some work to do."
His tone started to soften. An Junxi believed he had no special feelings for He Sirui, but she wouldn’t admit it, "That doesn’t mean you can ignore me."
Gu Yikun had no choice but to apologize, "It was my fault. I shouldn’t have come back so late, shouldn’t have been angry. It’s all my fault."
Seeing he had admitted his mistake, An Junxi decided to let it go. She lifted her head and gave him a kiss on the lips, "Good night, Hubby."
Gu Yikun watched her instantly revert to her usual self and rubbed her head, "Only you dare to be so impudent with me."
Snuggling against him, An Junxi said, "I’m not being impudent, I’m just reasoning with you."
Gu Yikun told her, "Next time don’t run out by yourself. You’re not familiar with this place. What if you get kidnapped?"
An Junxi rolled her eyes, "I’m not a child. How could I be so easily kidnapped?"
"You’re being disobedient again."
"Alright, alright, wherever I go I’ll follow President Gu. Is that good enough?"
"Yes, sleep now."
An Junxi’s hand rested on his chest as she asked, "Who tampered with my scissors today? Any results?"
Gu Yikun held her hand, "The surveillance didn’t catch anyone, but I have a suspect."
"Who?"
"He Sirui’s assistant, Ye Rong."
An Junxi was sure, "It must be her. There couldn’t be anyone else."
"I’ll handle it, leave it to me."
An Junxi didn’t worry about it anymore. She trusted her husband.
The next day, Gu Yikun had to go to the new hotel to oversee the final rehearsal for the jewelry exhibition. He instructed Secretary Wang to accompany An Junxi for shopping.
An Junxi wasn’t very interested in shopping, so she helped him pick out a suit, "Can’t I go with you?"
"The jewelry exhibition officially starts in the evening. You can go out in the morning, come back to rest in the afternoon, and then attend with Secretary Wang in the evening."
Alright, her mother had always told her not to interfere with his work.
An Junxi saw Gu Yikun off and Secretary Wang stayed with her, "I’ve been to Saint Petersburg a few times. There’s a square nearby and many historical landmarks. How about I be your tour guide?"
"Sure," It was her first time in Saint Petersburg. She couldn’t waste it staying in the hotel. An Junxi was tempted, "Wait a moment while I change clothes."
Gu Yikun arrived at the newly completed resort. The hotel’s preparations for the evening’s event were in full swing.
Walking through the first building, he reached an open-air plaza surrounded by three sides of castle-themed hotel buildings reflecting Russian characteristics. The exterior looked nothing like a hotel; each part embodied the splendor of ancient castles, making one feel like they were in a luxurious classical castle.
In the center of the plaza was a round stage, its design merging Russian imperial features with traditional Oriental elegance, every detail showcasing the designer’s high level of artistry.
As Gu Yikun passed through the plaza, the staff saw the president and paused their work, standing up, "President."
Gu Yikun told them to continue, stepping onto the stage. The person in charge came up to report on the event preparations, "President, all aspects have been double-checked. After the jewelry exhibition, there will be the open-air dance. Three colors of rose petals will be sprinkled from above, synchronized with the building lights and music. Madam will walk down the red carpet from the building, with cameras catching every angle of the stage..."
The staff knew the president’s meticulous attention to the event, not daring to overlook any detail, repeating each step to him.
Gu Yikun nodded, "Any issues with the artificial snow?"
"No issues. The designer suggested that with the petals, artificial snow might not be necessary, as the colors could be too..."
"Be prepared, use it if necessary."
"Understood, I’ll arrange it now."
