Seven Sins System Chapter 436. To Find Power...

"Nor? (Orders?)" I pressed, stepping closer. My tentacles writhed behind me, feeding off their palpable confusion. "Si nor? (What orders?)"

"Tu ger... tul ni gub. (To find power... bring it back)," one of the demons growled, his voice a guttural, almost animalistic sound. "Ni sel ger osi. (We smell power here.)" He pointed directly at me, his bony finger shaking slightly. "Ni. (You.)"

My eyes widened, and my heart beat faster. I could feel the blood pounding in my ears as the implications of their words sank in. "Li? (Me?)" I repeated, my confusion and disbelief clear in my voice.

The demon nodded slowly, his red eyes glinting with a malevolent light. "Ni (You)," he confirmed. "Tu su... tul ni gub. (Your power... it is what we seek.)"

My mind raced. This couldn't be possible. Why would they be after me? Every connection, every trace of my old life, had been meticulously erased. How could these demons have found me? And more importantly, why now?

I couldn't understand it…

One more thing… They came to the mortal realm because of me? This didn't make any sense. If their master wanted my power, the power of the ancient demon within me, why didn't they attack me in the Shadow Realm? Why summon them here?

‘Wait… that only applies if their master is another devil or demon,’ I thought, a realization dawning on me. The fact that they had been summoned here meant that their masters were mortals. That was the only logical explanation. Mortals had somehow learned of my presence and had gone to unimaginable lengths to harness my power.

But now, a new question emerged, how did they know that I was the one investigating this matter? Why me, and not any other demon or devil? It was a terrifying prospect that mortals had gained such knowledge and were now attempting to manipulate forces far beyond their understanding.

I took another step closer to the demons, my eyes narrowing. "Tu ger tul ni gub osi li. (You were sent to find power, and you found me.)" I said, my voice steady despite the storm of thoughts raging in my mind.

The demons nodded, their grotesque faces contorting into twisted expressions that might have been satisfaction or fear—perhaps both. Their nails clicked against each other as they shifted nervously, clearly uncomfortable under my scrutiny.

"Tu si ni tul ge li? (What do you plan to do to me then?)” I asked. The revelation of mortal involvement changed everything. It meant there were humans—probably cultists—who had the means to summon and control high-level demons. This was an unprecedented threat, not just to me, but to the balance of power between realms.

Before they could answer, Puriel nudged me, her voice a soft whisper that barely cut through the tension. “What did they say?”

I kept my eyes on the demons, but I tilted my head slightly towards her. “They said they were targeting me,” I replied, my voice edged with frustration.

“Why?” she asked, her brow furrowing deeply.

“I don’t know,” I admitted, the irritation clear in my tone. I couldn’t tell her about the ancient demon inside me, the dark secret I carried. “Then ask,” she insisted, impatience coloring her words. I could sense her extraordinary curiosity and the underlying worry.

“They’re dumb. They only understand orders,” I said irritably, glaring at the demons who stood motionless, their grotesque faces blank. “I’m trying to extract more information from them.”

Puriel nodded, though I could tell she wasn’t entirely satisfied with my answer. She knew as well as I did that these demons, despite their horrifying appearance, were nothing more than pawns. Whoever controlled them was the real threat, and we had to find out who it was.

“Tu si nor tul ge li, (What do you plan to do to me then?)” I repeated in the ancient demon language, my voice firm and demanding.

The demons exchanged glances, their eyes flickering with a mixture of confusion and wariness.

Out of nowhere, the demons let out an ear-piercing shriek that tore through the stillness of the park. The sound was so powerful that the air around us seemed to ripple, and the trees bent as if being blown by a strong wind or some invisible force. I simply covered my ears with one of my index fingers, more out of habit than necessity. I had heard worse than this; a Banshee's cry was far more excruciating.

“Ugh,” I grumbled in displeasure. The sound was irritating, but it wasn't enough to deter me. I wanted to finish them off quickly, but I hoped I could extract more information from them first.

“Ger (Power),” one of the demons suddenly shouted at me, their voices raw and desperate.

“Tu ni ger! (Give us your power!)” another screamed, their red eyes burning with a frenzied intensity.

I stared at them, my mind racing. Their desperation was palpable, and it confirmed my worst suspicions. Whoever had sent them wasn’t just looking for any power; they were after mine specifically. The ancient power that coursed through my veins, the very essence of the demon inside me, was what they craved.

Quickly, I raised both my hands in a placating gesture. “Calm down, I will give it to you, but you have to answer my question first, okay?” I tried to negotiate, my tone measured and controlled. The demons' shrieks subsided slightly, and their eyes, still blazing with hunger, fixed on me with a wary intensity.

Puriel glanced at me, her expression a mix of confusion and concern. “Can they understand our language?” she asked, her brow furrowed.

“No,” I said, hoping they could at least interpret my gestures. “I just hope they can understand my body language.”

“Then why don’t you use your demon language or whatever?” she pressed, her voice tinged with impatience.

“Because there’s no such phrase as ‘calm down’ in ancient demon language,” I replied, half annoyed. “The ancient demon language is very limited,” I continued.
