Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth
Chapter 21 You’re So Good
CHAPTER 21: CHAPTER 21 YOU’RE SO GOOD
Harvard Business School, the world’s top business school, Su Wanxin graduated from there.
Although that year Fu Shihan forced her, insisting that she join him as his little junior sister, she was very reluctant. Yet she graduated with exceptionally good grades, something undeniable.
Su Wanxin looked at the obviously darkened face of Lin Shihan and helplessly shook her head.
Bumping into any muzzle is bad enough, but to choose this one. Now, look what happened, completely stunned.
Su Wanxin is no Holy Daughter; she can’t possibly harbor sympathy for those who come to cause trouble deliberately. She glanced at the time on the bottom right corner of the computer screen, just in time for leaving work, so she simply shut down her computer and prepared to leave.
Lin Shihan gritted her teeth as she watched her get up, feeling embarrassed as she thought her colleagues were laughing at her.
She was the only new graduate this year who got in through connections, a piece of news that seemed to have spread throughout the company. And Su Wanxin was sent over directly by Fu Shihan today, everyone saw it, which is why Lin Shihan wanted to drag her down. But who would have thought...
Lin Shihan’s face grew redder with anger, watching Su Wanxin walking away, she couldn’t help but speak out bitterly.
"What’s so great about it, it’s just Harvard, as if it were such a great place!"
Su Wanxin stopped in her tracks when she heard this, turned her body to look at Lin Shihan, and smiled charmingly. "Indeed, nothing great, it’s just a place you couldn’t get into, that’s all."
With those words from Su Wanxin, the onlookers who had been enjoying the spectacle almost burst into laughter.
Quite the sharp tongue on the young lady! Debating society background, perhaps!
With so many people watching, Lin Shihan couldn’t do anything to Su Wanxin. She turned and ran towards the restroom, as if she was about to cry from anger.
Su Wanxin shrugged her shoulders, truly feeling wronged. She sighed and, when she saw a colleague giving her a thumbs-up, admiring her prowess, she casually made a gesture of cupping one fist in the other hand as thanks, saying "I’m flattered," before turning and leaving the company.
It was rush hour, the roads were incredibly jammed, and taking a taxi home was impossible.
Su Wanxin looked down at the expensive high heels on her feet, ultimately unable to bear wearing them to squeeze into the subway, so she found a nearby coffee shop to sit idly and pass the time. Only when night fell and the roads were less crowded, did she take a taxi home, and she even bought takeout to eat with Mu Suyu.
Mu Suyu, who had been hungry for most of the day, was thrilled to see her bring back crayfish and snuggled right into her arms.
"Wanwan, that outfit looks really good on you! Where did you buy it?"
"...I don’t know." Su Wanxin put down the takeout and went to change clothes. "Fu Shihan bought it."
Mu Suyu nodded, holding back her words. Not until Su Wanxin returned wearing home clothes did she hesitantly say.
"Wanwan, I think there’s something off about your domineering ex-boyfriend."
"Where is it off?"
"It’s about you." Mu Suyu asserted with the guarantee of her "professional" identity as a romance novelist. "Do you think he still has lingering feelings for you?"
"Impossible." Su Wanxin smiled and shook her head. "He doesn’t have time to hate me; he can’t possibly still like me. He probably just can’t figure out the real reason I came back, so he wants to get close and see what kind of tricks I’m up to."
"But the car accident wasn’t your fault, you were also a victim. It took you more than a year to wake up, aren’t you going to tell him the truth?" Mu Suyu felt aggrieved for Su Wanxin. "Why pretend to be the bad guy? You’re so good!"
