Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth
Chapter 23: You’re done for, utterly done for.
CHAPTER 23: CHAPTER 23: YOU’RE DONE FOR, UTTERLY DONE FOR.
Sheng Qian curled her lips and obediently moved to the back seat, cursing him as a troublemaker in her heart.
Fu Shihan is picky and sharp-tongued; he never lets anyone use his things. Just take the passenger seat; she had never seen anyone sitting there.
"What’s so precious about your passenger seat that no one can even sit there?" Sheng Qian leaned against the car door, looking at Fu Shihan, "Are you free tonight? Let’s go out with Lu Ci and the others."
"So free, looks like you’re really heating up, I should prepare the company to discuss terminating your contract."
Sheng Qian: ...
"Can’t you wish me well? Even if I’m not popular anymore, I’ve made money for you for three years. Isn’t it cruel to ditch me like this? Business may fail but goodwill should remain; metal may be unyielding, but people have feelings!"
"Don’t talk about feelings, it hurts money."
Sheng Qian was so frustrated that she gasped for a while before speaking again. "My crappy ex keeps causing trouble by coming back, it’s so annoying."
Fu Shihan casually replied, "Just kill him then."
"Jeez, I really like your approach."
"Ugly rejection."
"It’s freaking hard to have a nice chat with you..." Sheng Qian covered her chest, pretending to be hurt, "What type do you like then? Oh right, someone like Su Wanxin."
She answered her own question, and Fu Shihan didn’t refute, tacitly agreeing.
Fu Shihan drove directly towards Su’s Fund, without notifying anyone in advance, including Su Wanxin.
Inside Su’s Fund, everyone was tense and busy working.
Su Wanxin sat in front of her computer, holding a thermos cup, staring at the data charts on her screen while sipping goji and date water, listening to her colleagues whispering.
The company had a big client today, so big that the general manager was currently nodding and bowing in the meeting room, serving with a smile.
This client was big, with demanding and tricky requests. He wanted his invested fund to yield a triple-digit return within one year, which is between 100% and 999%. The average annual return rate of stock-related funds in the market is around 20%.
A skilled trader can guarantee a return rate of 40%, but still wouldn’t boldly claim it could exceed 50%.
So even though the general manager wanted to secure this big client, it was impossible. He didn’t dare offend the client and could only try to manage somehow.
Listening to her colleagues’ hushed discussions, Su Wanxin silently smiled, not planning to join in. She focused on her work and water, until she had drunk half of it and the rest became a bit cold. She then rubbed her eyes, stood up, and thought of going to the pantry to fetch some hot water to continue.
She had just left her seat and not taken two steps when she saw the general manager, Chen Lei, and the client coming out of the meeting room, heading her way. It seemed they hadn’t come to an agreement, and the client was about to leave.
Su Wanxin politely stood still, waiting for them to leave before walking, considering that the space between the two rows of desks wasn’t too spacious to compete with the client.
But, just when the important client, whom even the general manager dared not offend, was in front of Su Wanxin, she was suddenly pushed from behind. She stumbled forward and fell onto the client, and the remaining half-cup of warm water in her thermos didn’t go to waste and was spilled all over him.
Accompanied by the indignant exclamations of the big client, Su Wanxin could feel the gaze of those around her.
Their eyes clearly spelled out a few words.
You’re done for, completely done for.
