Shattered by Fate, Restored by Truth
Chapter 40: The Little One Looking for Mom
CHAPTER 40: CHAPTER 40: THE LITTLE ONE LOOKING FOR MOM
With this mindset, Su Wanxin arrived at the Fu Group.
At the entrance to the Fu Group campus, Su Wanxin got out of the taxi and walked slowly inside.
After being injured for so many days and being driven to and from work in luxury cars, plus Fu Shihan’s dietary therapy, she felt that her nearly scrapped body was actually healing a bit.
As she walked slowly, she inadvertently saw a small figure on the lawn.
It was a three or four-year-old Little Budian, squatting on the grass with his little butt poked up, deeply engrossed; if Su Wanxin wasn’t mistaken, he was probably watching ants.
The little guy was so intent on his observation that he didn’t notice Su Wanxin until he heard her footsteps and looked up cautiously.
When the little one looked up and met Su Wanxin’s eyes, he seemed startled, his body wobbled, and then he plopped down onto the ground, his dazed look making Su Wanxin unable to help but chuckle.
His round eyes stared intently at Su Wanxin. Seeing her smile, he suddenly burst into tears, giving Su Wanxin a fright.
"What’s wrong? Did you fall and hurt yourself?" Su Wanxin walked over to help him up, patting the dust off his behind. "You’re too young to be playing the blame game. I didn’t do anything, you better not try to extort me!"
"Whimper—" Yangyang clumsily wiped his tears with his little hands, looking up at the person in front of him, then clung to her legs without letting go. "Mommy!"
Su Wanxin furrowed her brows, patted his head, and looked around.
He must have wandered away from an adult, poor thing.
"Don’t cry, I’ll take you to find them. Did you come here with your mommy? What’s your mommy’s name?"
"No, not that, I came by myself to find daddy."
"Oh? Where is your daddy?"
"Daddy is at work. Daddy, daddy doesn’t like me, mommy doesn’t want me either."
The little bundle cried with such sorrow, it was pitiful.
The more Su Wanxin listened, the more something seemed wrong. The little one was holding her tight, making it difficult for her to move. She pulled him off somewhat helplessly, crouched down, and looked him in the eye. "How do you know your daddy doesn’t like you and your mommy doesn’t want you?"
"Daddy just doesn’t like me. Daddy won’t see me. Everyone says he doesn’t like me."
What kind of irresponsible adult does this? So outrageous.
Su Wanxin raised her hand to wipe the tears from the little meatball’s eyes. She looked at his beautiful face and felt that it looked familiar, but she couldn’t quite place where she had seen him before.
She bent down to pick up the little one, intending to take him to the front desk inside the building to record his information and ask who had lost their child. But before she could walk far, she saw several men looking like bodyguards running towards her aggressively. Without explanation, they snatched the little one away.
"Young Master, are you alright?!"
"Where are you hurt? Show me quickly!"
The group encircled the little bundle, anxiously checking for any injuries.
"I want my mommy!!!"
After being taken from Su Wanxin’s arms, Yangyang’s emotions surged, and he struggled to get back to her, making Su Wanxin inevitably doubt the men’s identities.
Are they really bodyguards or human traffickers?
"Mommy! Mommy, hold me! Don’t abandon me, mommy!"
The little one was still struggling, crying heartbreakingly. Su Wanxin watched him, stunned, her heart suddenly feeling empty and tight with pain.
A Hummer sped in from a distance, stopped, and a few bodyguards carried the little bundle onto the vehicle, disappearing from Su Wanxin’s view.
Su Wanxin watched the vehicle getting farther and farther away, slowly coming back to her senses. She felt as if she could still hear the little guy yelling for mommy.
