CHAPTER 37: CHAPTER 37: MY MONEY FLEW AWAY (PART 1)

Elias Hawthorne was momentarily stunned before he responded, "You mean Raina North?"

"Yes."

When Elias Hawthorne entered the lounge, Raina North was lounging on the sofa, legs crossed, acting like a lord while a young girl peeled oranges for her.

Seeing Elias walk in, she immediately waved, "Honey, come here, the fruit here is delicious."

"Ghost Doctor Nowhere. Raina, you hid well."

Raina looked baffled, "Honey, what are you talking about? What Nowhere? What Ghost Doctor? Honey, what are you talking about?"

"Unwilling to admit it?" Elias’s thin lips curled slightly with a teasing and bloodthirsty look, "My people told me the Ghost Doctor Nowhere came to today’s auction, but then the Ghost Doctor disappeared, and here you are. Raina, don’t you have any explanation?"

Raina looked at Elias in bewilderment, "Although I don’t understand what you mean, I think you really misunderstood. I’m only here today to buy some jewelry, as accessories, there’s still a registration record at the auction entrance."

Elias turned to look at Quinn Thorne.

Quinn nodded, "There really is, just didn’t get a chance to say it earlier."

Elias furrowed his brows; could he have really guessed wrong?

"Elias, can I sit next to you at the auction later?" Raina said, reaching for Elias’s arm.

But just as her fingers were about to touch him, Elias raised his hand to brush Raina’s hand away and turned to walk out.

"Elias, where are you going? Wait for me." Raina stepped forward to chase after him but was blocked by Aidan Lynch.

Aidan stood in front of Raina, respectfully saying, "Young Madam, President Hawthorne has other business to attend to and can’t accompany you to the auction. Please understand."

Raina said, "Then I can accompany Elias while handling business as well, don’t worry, I’m very quiet, I won’t disturb him."

Aidan’s attitude became even more respectful, "I’m sorry, Young Madam, it really is inconvenient."

After saying so, he turned around without hesitation.

Raina chased to the door, reluctant for a long time before slowly wandering back to the lounge.

The female servant in the cheongsam uniform looked up; who else could it be but Summer Jordan?

She gave Raina a thumbs up, "Raina, you’re impressive."

"Not too bad, it’s all experience." If she hadn’t been her usual cautious self, having Summer Jordan attend the auction in her name, she would’ve been caught red-handed today.

"So, shall we head back now?"

"No, we’re going to the auction now. If we’re putting on a show, we need to commit fully. Elias has an unspeakable connection with The Dark Tower, even slightly letting my guard down could get me caught by him, and then everything would be exposed."

In the car downstairs.

Elias’s fingers flew across the keyboard.

Soon the surveillance footage from the entrance appeared on the computer screen, zoomed in, clearly showing the invitation in Raina’s hand being checked by the greeter with her name on it.

"Boss, sis went to the auction to bid." Quinn Thorne put away his phone, "Looks like it really was just coincidence."

Elias stared at the surveillance footage for a while before closing the laptop, a trace of concern flashed in his hawk-like eyes, still not having found Ghost Doctor Nowhere.

But Baby’s illness...

Elias took a deep breath, "Back to The Hawthorne Family."

...

Night, The Hawthorne Family.

The enormous dining room felt desolate, two adults and one child sat on either side, each with a more unpleasant expression than the last.

Elias Hawthorne: "Eat."
