CHAPTER 44: CHAPTER 44: ARE YOU WAITING FOR ME TO FEED YOU PERSONALLY? (2)

Elias Hawthorne stared intently, leaving Raina North no choice but to pick up her chopsticks.

Raina was already full earlier, and now being forced to continue eating was extremely unpleasant. The only consolation was that she hadn’t prepared much food for Casper North.

While Raina ate, Elias’s gaze roamed around, taking in the room’s decor.

Raina watched carefully and saw Elias’s eyes linger on the coat rack in the corner, where Casper’s clothes hung.

Her heart tightened, but she forced herself to act casual: "The clothes I bought for Bobby, don’t they look great?"

Elias couldn’t help but think of how casually Raina earlier produced several outfits suitable for Baby, and even the master bedroom was filled with children’s clothes. His face softened a bit, thinking perhaps this woman had some conscience.

Raina quickly finished the last few bites of her meal: "I’m done and need to rest. President Hawthorne, if you have nothing else, could you leave? Or perhaps..."

Raina elongated her sentence, deliberately using an ambiguous tone: "Does President Hawthorne want to stay and warm my bed?"

Thinking of this woman’s past actions, a flash of disgust crossed Elias’s eyes: "Raina, since you’ve married into the Hawthorne Family, you must mind your status. If I find out you’re fooling around outside and stain the Hawthorne name, don’t blame me for being unkind!"

"Got it, got it." Raina replied impatiently: "Take care, goodnight."

With that, she slammed the door shut with a bang.

Elias stared at the closed door, his brows involuntarily knit tight. Why did he feel like he was being disliked?

Inside the room.

Raina wiped the cold sweat from her forehead, then hurriedly opened the cabinet, pushing aside the clothes: "Casper, come out, it’s safe now."

"This dad of mine is really difficult." Casper North jumped out of the cabinet, rubbing his numbed short legs.

Raina nodded in deep agreement.

Gurgle——

A low sound emerged.

Casper clutched his stomach, complaining: "Mommy, I’m so hungry."

Seeing her poor son holding his stomach, and glancing at the already empty plates, Raina couldn’t help clenching her teeth, it was all Elias Hawthorne’s fault, and this feud just kept growing!

Worried about being caught by Elias again, Raina didn’t dare enter the kitchen to cook for Casper. Instead, she seized the opportunity while Elias was on the phone on the living room balcony to smuggle some fruit, ham, and yogurt from the fridge.

Elias, sensing something, turned to see Raina’s busy figure. He furrowed his brows slightly; this woman’s appetite was impressive.

Casper was really hungry and didn’t pick and choose. But of course, he didn’t forget to ask Raina for compensation, stating boldly: "Mommy, I want Buddha Jumps Over the Wall."

Buddha Jumps Over the Wall was Raina’s specialty dish, but it required meticulous ingredients and high culinary skills, and she seldom made it outside of her two children’s birthdays.

Raina patted her son’s fluffy head: "Alright, Mommy will buy the ingredients tomorrow."

"Oh yes!" Casper exclaimed, jumping up with joy, but quickly covered his mouth. His dad was still here, and if discovered, it would mean being separated from Mommy.

Raina tidied up the trash in the room, turning back to see Casper with his handheld computer out, his short and chubby fingers flying over the keyboard.

"Any new tasks?"

Raina leaned over to look, and saw on the open forum a dish of Buddha Jumps Over the Wall by The Divine Chef Glutton being auctioned.
