CHAPTER 594: CHAPTER 594: WHERE IS THE MARTIAL CODE NOW?! (PART 2)
Is the Lord of the Dark Tower hiding an old lady under his mask? Otherwise, why does this meeting drag on like someone’s footwrap—smelly and long?
She’s been hiding in the flowers for two hours, almost eaten alive by mosquitoes!
Smack—
Raina North swats the leg of a mosquito. Bold thing dared to bite her; look where it got him.
Just then, the door of the villa opposite opens, and many high-ranking members of the Dark Tower come out.
Raina’s spirits lift.
The meeting is finally over.
She glances at Dante Drake, personally escorting people out, knowing her best chance has arrived.
Quietly emerging from the flowers, she nimbly climbs the wall like a nocturnal cat and slips into the villa.
Her first stop is the study.
The Lord of the Dark Tower is indeed still handling business, but he isn’t alone. Several suit-clad execs are there on a video conference with him.
Raina had planned to catch the Lord alone, drug him, and extract information about the Dark Tower, especially concerning Elias Hawthorne.
But now the situation doesn’t allow it. If she drugs him now, the people on the other side of the video would immediately notice and alert the rest of the Dark Tower.
In that case, she wouldn’t be able to escape, even with wings.
So Raina changes tactics and stealthily sneaks into the master bedroom.
She refuses to believe the Lord would hold a video conference in his bedroom.
Once he’s in there, she’ll knock him out and do as she pleases.
Maybe then, she’ll get a chance to see what kind of face lies beneath the silver mask.
With such thrilling thoughts, Raina hides in the closet, waiting for the Lord to return.
She waits and waits, but he never comes.
As time stretches on, she unknowingly falls asleep.
Bang—
Her forehead hits the inside of the closet, painfully waking her up.
Bright light streaming through the closet gaps reveals it’s already morning, and the Lord of the Dark Tower never returned.
Raina is incredulous—Is this Lord a devil? Tending to business all night?
As she mentally rants, the bedroom door creaks open.
A tall, elegant figure steps in.
It’s the Lord of the Dark Tower.
Upon returning to the bedroom, he goes straight into the bathroom.
A perfect chance.
Raina’s about to emerge from the closet and use the drug on him.
But she forgets something—she’s been cramped in the closet too long and her legs have gone numb.
And since she stands too quickly, she loses her balance and falls back with a thump.
Upon hearing the noise, the Lord swiftly grabs his removed mask and puts it back on, buttoning his shirt again.
He strides out of the bathroom to the closet, coldly demanding, "Come out."
Seeing no movement inside, his gaze chills further: "I’ll count to three. If you don’t come out, I’ll get you myself. One..."
As his voice drops, the Lord lunges like a ghost, yanking the closet door open while pointing a gun at her forehead.
Raina is baffled by the abrupt sequence of actions.
Once she regains her composure, she’s thoroughly irritated.
Didn’t he say he’d count to three? He moved on just one count—does he have no decency?
