CHAPTER 65: CHAPTER 65: ALREADY FAT AND NOW TANNED (1)
Raina North observed his emotions, reached out, and gently rubbed his fluffy head, offering silent comfort.
Baby Hawthorne’s gloomy mood was instantly soothed.
Daddy wasn’t only his, but he still had Mommy.
"Are we home? Huh? Where is this place?" At this moment, Casper North also woke up, groggily opening his eyes and looking at the lavish decorations around him, his little mouth forming an ’O’ of astonishment.
"How did I get to The Imperial Palace?" He rubbed his eyes, and The Imperial Palace was still there—it wasn’t a dream.
Casper didn’t have time to be delighted; his gaze fell on the half-smiling face of Raina North.
With a start, his sleepiness vanished without a trace.
Feeling the unease of the little one in his arms, Elias Hawthorne asked in a low voice, "What’s wrong?"
"N-nothing..." His eyes, however, dared not look towards Raina North.
"Elias, you’re back? Huh? Why did you bring a child with you?" Old Mrs. Hawthorne heard the news and came over with Aunt Rivers supporting her, looking curiously at Casper.
Casper North, being a clever little fellow, immediately realized that Old Mrs. Hawthorne was at the top of the food chain in this family.
Struggling a little, he slid off Elias Hawthorne and sprinted over to Old Mrs. Hawthorne, bowing very obediently.
"Hello, pretty grandma, I’m Casper."
His young voice still carried the lazy tone of someone who had just woken up.
Casper North already had a pleasant face, and coupled with his deliberate cuteness, Old Mrs. Hawthorne, being of an age to dote on grandchildren, found her own well-behaved great-grandson a bit too disciplined by his father.
At this point, a clever and lively Casper runs out, those twinkling eyes seemingly smiling, immediately melting Old Mrs. Hawthorne’s heart.
"Whose child is this, so adorable, and such a sweet talker." Unable to resist, Old Mrs. Hawthorne immediately picked up the little one.
"From Daddy’s family," Casper North ignored the death glare from his biological mom, "I’m the son Daddy picked up at the door, and I’ll take care of Daddy when he’s old."
"Picked-up son?" Old Mrs. Hawthorne couldn’t help but laugh, and not just her, Aunt Rivers was also amused.
"Young Master Casper really is adorable; with him around, our little Master will have a companion," Aunt Rivers said.
Not far away, watching his brother being cute, Baby Hawthorne expressed that he didn’t really want that.
In the time it took to have dinner, Casper North, with his shameless cuteness, successfully won over the entire Hawthorne Family.
After dinner, Old Mrs. Hawthorne and the others went back to their rooms.
Raina North, with a cold smile, watched the little brat opposite her, who was lounging with crossed legs, eating fruit, and looking like the fool son of a rich family. Having held it in all evening, she couldn’t bear it any longer.
"You little brat, you’ve got some nerve! I’ve raised you for five years, and now you went off to be someone else’s picked-up son, calling him ’Daddy’ so affectionately."
Casper North wore a fawning smile: "It was just an act, just an act."
"Casper North, sit down properly for me."
Noticing that his biological mom was genuinely angry, Casper North didn’t dare mess around and immediately sat up properly.
"Casper North, explain this to me right now, or else..." Raina North squinted her eyes, threatening him.
"This is actually your fault, Mommy. You’ve got a new love and forgot about me, your old love." Casper North glanced at his stepbrother who had been cozying up to Raina North, puffing his cheeks like a frog, "I don’t want to stay in the apartment with my godmother alone; I want to be with Mommy, so I had to find a way to sneak in."
"Do you know how long I was in the sun today? Look, I’m all tanned..."
Casper North leaned over his fair little face.
The silly husky mimicked him, holding onto Raina North’s leg and whimpering: The sun is so hot, playing dead is so hard~
Raina North looked and nodded: "Indeed, you’re tanned. You were already ugly, and now you’re tanned too. Ah, what to do in the future?"
Raina North wore a face full of worry.
Hearing this, Casper North clutched his chest, heart aching.
"How about I send you to Africa, so you can look fairer among the dark-skinned folks?"
Casper North widened his eyes, his expression freezing for a moment: "Mommy, am I really your biological child?"
Raina North sneered: "The moment you ran away from home to be someone else’s picked-up son, you weren’t anymore."
Casper North’s little face went blank, as if he had suffered a huge blow, and his eyes slightly reddened.
"Mommy’s mean! Bullying people!"
And right after his complaint, he got smacked.
