CHAPTER 907: CHAPTER 907: AS IF SOMEONE STOLE MY THUNDER

After dealing with Pip Finch, feeling a bit more relaxed, they drove towards The Aethelgard Outskirts.

The Aethelgard Outskirts are remote, and with The Celestial Alliance located to the north, by the time they arrived, the dawn was breaking.

Jonah Rivers had already been waiting with his people. Seeing Raina North getting out of the car with her team, he walked over.

He glanced at Pip Finch and Lune behind Raina North and raised an eyebrow, saying, "Alliance Leader Rivers, you’ve brought quite a small team for this operation."

Raina’s gaze swept over, "Too few? I thought you alone, Jonah Rivers, were worth a thousand troops."

Jonah was a bit surprised, "Explosive, are we? You’re acting like someone stole your thunder."

Raina’s expression darkened slightly, "I wish someone would steal my thunder." Seeing Jonah looking at her in increasing bewilderment, Raina couldn’t help massaging her temples, realizing Pip Finch’s antics had greatly influenced her.

Taking a deep breath to control her emotions, she asked Jonah Rivers, "What’s the situation inside?"

When Raina mentioned the matter at hand, Jonah’s expression immediately turned serious, and he said in a low voice, "The situation isn’t very optimistic. Before you arrived, I led my men in to investigate, but they noticed us as soon as we got close. We clashed with them; their skills are quite impressive, top-notch fighters."

Upon hearing Jonah’s words, Raina’s expression became even more solemn. For Jonah to say they were skilled was proof enough of their capabilities.

Raina was just about to continue asking when she saw several people who had come with Jonah suddenly collapse to the ground, letting out heart-wrenching cries of pain.

With her heart tightening, Raina immediately wanted to check the situation but halted her steps and signaled to Jonah: "Don’t move!"

Jonah, deeply trusting Raina, immediately stopped in his tracks upon hearing her shout.

By now, those few lying on the ground had stopped moving, with blood oozing from their mouths and noses. Amidst the crimson, something seemed to be wriggling.

Jonah’s face changed dramatically: "It’s Poison!"

"Indeed, it’s Poison." Raina’s expression was equally grim.

Originally thinking it was merely a turf fight, she never expected such a treacherous thing as Poison to appear.

It’s important to note that Poison has always been strictly forbidden in The Umbral Zone. This was the first time in years anyone dared to openly violate this taboo.

Jonah looked at Raina, "Is there any chance to save them?"

Raina nodded and, without waiting for Jonah’s urging, swiftly stepped forward. Holding silver needles in her hand, she stabbed down as fast as lightning.

Each needle hit the wriggling parasites precisely, and then she shoved pills she carried into the mouths of several people.

Then, she told the few who were still somewhat alert, "What I fed them was a poisoned pill I crafted. This pill is made from eighty-one toxic flowers and herbs. Though it can kill the parasites within, over time, it will also kill the person. Therefore, you must watch the time closely and administer the antidote precisely fifteen minutes later, or it will be too late."

Given Raina’s stern instructions, they dared not slack off, receiving the antidote she provided and asking a few more questions in a low voice.

Actually, detoxifying the Poison isn’t so complicated; just find the mother parasite and command it to call out the child parasites.

However, the problem is that they don’t have the mother parasite, and more pressingly, given the current situation, they obviously can’t wait until they find it.

Thus, Raina had no choice but to use this method of harming a thousand enemies while damaging eight hundred of her own.

Fortunately, this damage isn’t irreversible. After eliminating the parasites, a period of recuperation will restore them.
