CHAPTER 1631: EPIDEMIC? (6)

Once this interlude was over, the meeting began in earnest.

Since they were the host, it was only natural that the group from the Mofu Mofu Kingdom spoke first.

It was King Kashou who said, "King Zwein, you’re the one that called for this meeting. I’m sure that you have your reasons for doing so, but there are still many of my people that are suffering. I hope that we can keep this meeting as short as possible."

The others all looked at me as well.

They had been holding it inside them this whole time, but it was clear by the way that they looked at me that they were wondering why I had called this meeting in the first place.

I understood why they all felt this way, so I didn’t waste any time in saying, "There was something that I discovered when I was curing the ones that had been quarantined. This is an important matter not just for the Mofu Mofu Kingdom, but for the entire racial alliance. That was why it was necessary for everyone to gather like this."

They all knitted their brows when they heard this, but they didn’t say anything as they just looked at me as if they were waiting for me to say what it was.

Instead of what they expected to hear, I said, "This isn’t an epidemic."

"Huh?" Everyone looked at me with shocked and confused looks when they heard this.

Then as their expressions slowly changed, it was as if they were looking at me like they were trying to figure out if I was being serious or not. However, I just kept the same calm and serious expression on my face as I looked at King Kashou.

He too didn’t say anything as he looked at me like he was trying to figure out if I was being serious or not, but eventually he had no choice but to say, "What do you mean by this?"

I calmly said, "When I was curing those people that were sick, I found that there was something familiar coming from them. From that, I was able to figure out that this epidemic is clearly not the normal kind of illness."

I turned to look at Puffer and the gnome that had entered the warehouse with me after I said this.

Puffer was the one that came forward with her notes to say, "That’s right. When we tested them, there were no signs that they were sick."

The people from the Mofu Mofu Kingdom couldn’t help knitting their brows when they heard this.

To them, it was almost as if their pain and suffering was being looked down on.

But in the end, they didn’t say anything as they waited for Puffer to explain what she meant by this.

With her notes, Puffer said, "When we ran our tests on the people that were supposed to be ill, we found that none of them actually had any biological signs that they were ill. It’s clear that this kind of illness isn’t caused by what normally causes illness."

At that, she turned back to look at me.

After all, she actually didn’t know what it was that was causing this illness in the first place since I had rushed us to the capital.

It was clear by the way that she looked at me that she wanted to know this answer as well.

Once she tossed it back to me, I said, "As you have heard, there are no biological signs that they were ill. That meant that there was something else that was causing them to be ill, which brings me back to what I mentioned before."

I could see that there were a few impatient looks on their faces since they wanted me to make it clear what I was saying instead of keeping them in suspense like this.

So in the end, I said, "It’s corruption energy."

"Huh?" Everyone was surprised when they heard this.

That was except for Puffer who looked like all her doubts had been answered.

Instead of falling into a daze like everyone else did, Puffer started writing in her notes as if there were ideas that were racing in her mind. It seemed that my words had struck a chord with her with the way that she was writing in her notes.

After they came back to their senses, it was one of the representatives of the human race that asked, "How could it be corruption energy? We’ve already dealt with the corruption energy before, but none of us ever fell ill like this."

I gave a shrug before saying, "I don’t know."

Everyone once again knitted their brows to look at me as if they were wondering if I was just messing with them.

However, I calmly said, "I really don’t know since there’s too much that we don’t know about the corruption energy. The one thing that I can infer is that this is most likely what happens when one is infected with corruption energy over a long period of time."

They couldn’t refute what I was saying, but there was something that they still had to ask.

"Why would there be corruption energy here?"

Though it seemed like they were asking this of me, it was clear that they were also asking this of King Kashou.

After all, this was the Mofu Mofu Kingdom.

When we had received the request for help, there had been no mention of the corruption energy at all.

This was the kind of information that was very important to know ahead of time.

But then again, it wasn’t as if the Mofu Mofu Kingdom knew how to deal with corruption energy, let alone know how to detect corruption energy.

King Kashou didn’t answer this question and instead asked, "How are you certain that it’s this corruption energy that you speak of."

"I have my ways." I said before raising the relic that I was holding, as well as showing the Mark of God that was on my hand.

King Kashou couldn’t help deeply frowning when he heard this.
