Chapter 1641: Examining the array
CHAPTER 1641: EXAMINING THE ARRAY
The thing that broke out of the ground was a ball of dirt.
Though the thing that I really cared about was the thing inside of the ball of dirt.
This ball of dirt was actually divine energy earth that was created by the Staff of Earth.
What was inside of the ball of earth was the piece of metal that was just like the metal line that formed the outside circle of the array.
This piece of metal was one of the parts of the array created by the forces of Destruction.
After this ball of dirt came out, I said, "We need to bring some people over here. I’m going to head back with a few of the royal guards to bring those people here, don’t let anyone approach this ball of dirt while I’m gone."
King Kashou was surprised by the order that I gave him, but he gave a firm nod in the end.
In the end, he didn’t know anything about what was happening, so he really couldn’t make the best call in this case.
Since that was the case, it was better to leave this to someone that knew what they were doing.
That someone being me.
After jumping on the back of Joan, I called for a few of the royal guards and their wyverns.
The priests seemed like they wanted to come with us, but I said, "Keep healing the demi humans here and make sure to keep a group nearby to watch over this ball of dirt. The mist will last until I come back, so there’s no need for you to worry."
They seemed to have their doubts, but their trust in me kept them from asking anything in the end.
With the speed of the wyverns, it didn’t take long for us to come back with the people that we needed. Though there were also a few extra people that came with us.
"Where is it?"
That was the first thing that was said after we landed.
The one that I had brought back with me was Puffer since she was the one that had studied this kind of stuff the most. So I brought her since I thought that she would be able to provide some insight on this.
But other than that, there were some others that came as well.
Specifically, it was the people from the Sorcery Empire and the sea witches that followed.
They had come to help with certain things, but really they were here to study the corruption energy after learning that it was the corruption energy that was causing the illness.
So when they heard that there was this array that was made from metal containing corruption energy, they couldn’t help coming along as well.
The other one that came was the right minister.
When he heard about what happened, he wasted no time in following me.
In fact, it seemed like he would have grabbed onto one of the wyverns and hung on the entire way with how determined he looked. He really seemed like he wouldn’t give up unless we brought him along.
I didn’t waste any time either as I jumped down and led them over to the ball of dirt that had been brought out of the ground.
But before releasing the seal on the piece of metal, I first filled the air with mist.
This mist was more dense than anything that I’ve created before since I wanted to create another form of seal that would hold the piece of metal.
Only after this mist barrier was created did I release the seal that I had put on it.
Once the piece of metal was revealed, all of them didn’t waste any time looking carefully at the piece of metal.
Though I had to make sure that they didn’t get too close since there was no telling what kind of effects the metal would have on those that came too close to it.
After looking at it for a while, it was clear that none of them had an idea of what it was.
"I should probably call for a dwarf as well to see if they can tell me what this metal is." I couldn’t help thinking when I saw them like this.
In the end, I waved at King Kashou to bring the piece of paper that he drew on over.
Closing my eyes while holding the Staff of Earth, I opened them again and drew a few more things on the piece of paper before handing it over to Puffer and the others while saying, "This is the array that the pieces of metal in the ground form. Can you tell me if you’ve seen this before? Or at the very least, can you figure out what this array is based on this drawing?"
Puffer and the other researchers didn’t waste any time in studying this, but their knitted brows knitted even more after looking at it for a bit.
It was clear that they didn’t recognize the array that was drawn on the paper based on the look on their faces. It even seemed like they didn’t have a single clue what the rules behind this array was.
Though that wasn’t strange considering that it was an array that was from a completely different place.
I just left the piece of paper to them as I turned to the right minister.
When he saw me looking at him, he couldn’t help raising a brow as he asked, "Is there a problem?"
With a heavy look on my face, I said with a nod, "You have to evacuate all the people in the places that we were planning to search."
"Huh?" The right minister was confused when he heard this.
I pointed at the piece of metal on the ground before saying, "Since this is here, it’s likely that all those places have a similar array. We don’t know what it’s for, but there’s no doubt that they placed it there for something. So we need to get those people out as soon as possible."
The right minister slowly knitted his brows before giving a nod.
I just hoped that it wasn’t too late.
