CHAPTER 1712: UNDINE (1)

It was a bit of a tight fit, but I was able to enter the cave in the end.

After entering the cave, I found myself in a secret underground beach.

This cave was still connected to the lake since the rocks were just on the side of the lake, but there was also a sand path that was beside the lake that seemed to be leading underground.

It seemed that there was some kind of hidden cave that was under the water.

I didn’t really understand how the cave wasn’t flooded with how it led deep into the ground, but it seemed that there was something there that was keeping the water from reaching the sand path.

This wasn’t a place that I was familiar with, which made me a bit doubtful that this was the right place.

I only knew that the dungeon would appear somewhere near this area because that was how it had happened in the game, but I had no idea if this cave would actually lead to the dungeon that Undine was in.

So I asked Ifrit, "Ask them what is deeper in."

After a moment of silence, Ifrit said, "They don’t know. They aren’t allowed to go deeper than a certain point since they’re just low grade spirits."

I gave a sigh hearing this before saying, "Then what do they know about the places that they were allowed to go? Get them to give us an idea of what this place is so we know where to go from here."

After another moment of silence, Ifrit said, "They say that as long as you keep going forward, you’ll be able to reach the place that you’re looking for. After that, they won’t be able to follow us any deeper since they just aren’t allowed any deeper."

I shook my head with a bitter smile before saying, "Alright, then let’s see what is there."

But I didn’t rush as I headed deeper and instead slowly made my way forward.

There was no telling what was here, so there was no telling what would happen if I kept going.

I could only move without hesitation when it came to Ifrit’s dungeon since I knew exactly what was waiting for me. It wasn’t the same here since I had no idea what was waiting inside of this cave.

After a while, I arrived at what seemed to be an entrance of some sort, but it was one that I was familiar with.

Seeing this, I couldn’t help revealing a smile.

"What are you so happy about?" Ifrit asked in my mind after I suddenly revealed a smile like this.

I didn’t answer him as I looked at the door.

After a moment of silence, I walked over to the side of the door and looked around as if I was looking for something in particular. It was only after a while of looking around like this that a smile appeared on my lips.

I reached down and pulled out the thing that had been hiding behind the rock that I had been looking at.

When I lifted up this necklace in front of me, I couldn’t stop my smile from becoming even wider.

"What is this thing?" Ifrit asked in my mind while I was looking at it.

This time, I answered, "It’s going to be something useful later on."

I could hear more questions that were coming from him, but I didn’t say anything else as I put this necklace away and moved towards the door.

This was a door that seemed like it was firmly locked and it didn’t seem like it would be opening that easily.

But I didn’t panic as I looked at the pattern that was on the door.

There was this strange pattern that was engraved on this door, one that didn’t seem to make any sense.

However, I just looked at it for a bit before suddenly reaching out towards this pattern.

Without hesitation, I tapped a few spots on the door that was also where the pattern on the door was.

After I finished tapping these spots, there was a sound that came from the door.

"Click! Thud!"

After this sound, the door started to open all on its own.

"How did you do that?" Ifrit asked in a surprised voice in my mind.

I just ignored him as I continued forward past this door.

When I stepped through it, another smile appeared on my face when I saw what was behind the door.

Others might have been surprised to see this, but I looked at this place as if I had been here before.

That was because in another world, I had indeed been here before.

Spread out in front of me was a magnificent palace that had been hidden under the ground.

The problem was that this place was completely filled with water and it was a palace that was submerged under the water. This one spot by the door was the only place that hadn’t been submerged under the water.

I didn’t hesitate as I took out something that I suddenly brought to my mouth. After putting that thing in my mouth, I swallowed without any hesitation and then dived into the water.

Once I was in the water, I just breathed like I was on land.

The thing that I had just swallowed was a special item that I had gotten from the sea witches that would allow me to breathe under the water.

Since I already knew that this was a place that was related to Undine, the Water Spirit King, then I knew that this was a place that would be completely submerged in water.

If I knew this, then it would be a waste not to bring something that would allow me to breathe under the water.

After diving into the water, I headed right for the palace that was in front of me.

But instead of going for the main gate, I was heading towards one of the towers of this palace.
