Showbiz Scandal: The Official Announcement of My Ex and Myself
Chapter 24: Gang Ruannuan
CHAPTER 24: CHAPTER 24: GANG RUANNUAN
Running was futile, Wei Yaoyao was dragged back by Dajun.
The two younger brothers stood in front of Gang Dan for her to pick.
Yu Xia was behind them, massaging their shoulders and backs, continuously encouraging them, "Just bear with it, bear with it, what if she really has clues to the password here, small patience for greater schemes!"
While talking, she took out the phone given by the show, opened WLAN, and waved it around in a circle.
"Look, there’s quite a lot of wifi from the ’70s and ’80s, let me see which has the best signal... what are these bizarre names?"
Wei Yaoyao leaned in to take a look.
"QQ number of the most handsome guy in Mushroom Village?"
"Birthday of my third aunt’s first boyfriend?"
"Phone number of Gulana Dark God???"
"Connect and you’re my son??? Malan Bloom Twenty-One?"
"And this one... ’Heaven is unfair’? What does that mean?"
A row of networks, Yu Xia browsed through them, asking, "Which one are we supposed to connect to?"
No one answered.
Wei Yaoyao scratched his head, glanced at Xie Qingci, and shook his head, saying, "I have no idea."
"Perhaps before finding the password, we need to figure out which wifi is linked to our mission? A hidden task?" Xie Qingci suggested.
Yu Xia pondered, holding the phone: "That’s possible. So, Gang Dan is even more crucial here! An NPC that walks right into us must have something up their sleeve! Maybe she can tell us exactly which one to connect to!"
Her eyes were filled with sincerity, as if saying, "You should sacrifice a little, it’s all for the greater good."
This was when Dajun stepped forward to continue the plot, confused, asking, "What mare are you looking for?"
The three glanced at each other, "Password."
"We have big horses, small horses, male horses, female horses, but no honey mares... what is that?"
Yu Xia signaled to Xie Qingci and Wei Yaoyao, and the trio encircled Dajun.
"It’s a string of numbers, or maybe some letters."
Dajun was even more amazed, "What are letters?"
Yu Xia was momentarily stuck; how would she describe what a letter is?
Dajun looked to Gang Dan, "Gang Dan’er, do you know? As the most educated person in our village, you should know, right?"
All three turned to Gang Dan.
Gang Dan stood proud, buttons of her floral shirt almost bursting apart.
With her delicate fingers, she parted her cross-haired, yellowed nasal hairs to either side, then opened her toxin-blue sausage lips, haughtily saying, "Of course I know!"
Yu Xia shivered, covering one eye and leaning against the wall with one hand.
After a moment of silence, she said, "Gang Dan, the brilliance surrounding you is blinding; could you perhaps tone down your charm?"
Wei Yaoyao instinctively lowered his head, trying hard not to laugh.
No one dared gaze directly at Gang Dan’s beauty; even the cameraman would have poked out his eyes if filming wasn’t mandatory.
As a result, the camera didn’t capture anyone’s face, with everyone leaning against walls, staring at the sky to communicate.
"Gang Dan’er, enlighten us on what letters are; I feel I could assist them," Dajun asked, eyes shielded by a cloth from her basket.
Gang Dan stretched her limbs, giving them a playful look, as if she genuinely believed her beauty dazzled them.
Then she flicked her nasal hairs aside confidently and began, "Letters are ay, bee, say, dee, uh, eff, guh! Also kay, el, em, oh!"
Yu Xia: "...From which planet is this accent?"
Addictively strange, she couldn’t help but repeat it once.
But Dajun suddenly understood, "That’s it! I’ve seen it!"
Xie Qingci quickly asked, "Where have you seen it?"
"In Gang Dan’er’s brother’s textbook! A whole string of them!"
Emma, this could very well be what they were looking for!
Yu Xia glanced above Gang Dan’s head, trying not to look directly, and gently said,
"Gang Dan, could we perhaps see your brother’s textbook? Don’t worry, we won’t look for free; we’ll try our best to grant any of your wishes!"
Xie Qingci suddenly felt an ominous gut feeling arise.
Gang Dan bashfully gazed at Xie Qingci.
The next moment, Yu Xia and Wei Yaoyao pushed Xie Qingci forward in unison.
"For the good of the mission, bear with it some more!"
Xie Qingci ground out his words through clenched teeth.
Gang Dan, pleased with their proactive attitude, nodded with her fingertips held high, grabbing the corner of Xie Qingci’s garment, covering her mouth with one hand, giggling, "Gracefully" walking inside.
This tug caused Xie Qingci to also stumble, nearly tripping over the threshold.
"Come inside~ I’ll show you~ my brother’s textbooks~"
"...I’ll walk myself, be cautious of your nasal... nasal hair... also, your fly lashes are sticking together."
"Pfft hahaha, stop helping me with the description!"
"I can’t take it anymore, my abs are gonna pop from laughter; let’s take a break everyone!"
Yu Xia and Wei Yaoyao clung to the doorframe, shaking with mirth, making sounds like a flushing toilet.
Outside, Dajun, having had enough laughter, puckered up to suppress her amusement, reverting back to a simple NPC.
To be comedy actors, one must have a heightened sense of responsibility to complete the performance.
The group proceeded inside.
This brick and tile house was actually quite nicely built, with a central hall flanked by rooms, a pigsty to the left and a kitchen to the right, and a small courtyard in the middle.
Gang Dan produced the textbook, as wrinkled and crumpled as dried vegetables.
A group squatted in the courtyard, heads huddling together.
Carefully, Wei Yaoyao opened it, while Yu Xia glanced apprehensively at Gang Dan’s large shadow nearby, casually asking:
"Gang Dan, is your brother not here?"
"No, he’s probably out skipping rope, he loves playing with girls. Oh, you haven’t met him yet, right? Let me describe him for you so next time... it’s like we’re family already... oh, so shy~"
Yu Xia shivered again: Oh, disgusting, her goosebumps were about to erupt.
"My brother, he’s trendy, has an artist’s melancholy vibe, along with chiseled and masculine features, it’s, uh, like a commanding statue."
Wei Yaoyao whispered, "Dav... David, right?"
Gang Dan "oh-oh"ed twice: "Yes, yes, David. He even wanted that name, but I didn’t agree, and took charge in giving him a nicer one."
After speaking, she and Dajun looked at the trio expectantly.
Yu Xia tentatively asked, "So he’s called—"
"He’s called Gang Ruannuan! Isn’t it lovely?!"
"..." Sorry for bothering.
Gang Dan further inquired, "So, what do you think of the name?"
Yu Xia was speechless, nudged Wei Yaoyao, who in turn shoved Xie Qingci.
He opened his mouth to speak, but turning to face Gang Dan, with her wind-ruffled nasal hairs and barren pate, ended up prodding Yu Xia.
Your turn.
Yu Xia could only steel herself, awkwardly adding, "It’s lovely, both strong and soft, a blend of firmness with suppleness... in short, artistically resonant, much better sounding than David."
Gang Dan was very pleased, "It seems we share the same high taste!"
Help, just not at the same level!
