?Chapter 335:

    Hell, so was I.

But that didn’t stop me from watching her every move, tracking her like a predator tracking prey. Not that I’d ever harm her—no, my instincts were the opposite. To protect her, even from herself.

    And then it happened.

    Her scream.

    My heart stopped.

One second, she was walking toward the door, probably trying to sneak out for a breath of fresh air. The next, she crumpled to the ground, clutching her arm as blood bloomed against her ck dress.

    “Jasmine!”

The word ripped out of me like a fucking roar as I crossed the room in three long strides, shoving people out of my way. Ace was wing at my chest, demanding to be set loose, to tear apart whoever had hurt her.

    Fucking damn it!

    Blood. Her blood.

    Fuck. Fuck.

I dropped to my knees beside her, my hands shaking as I pressed them to the wound. “Jas, look at me,” I said, my voice rough, almost pleading. “Stay with me, okay? Don’t you fucking close your eyes.”

Hershes fluttered, her lips parting as if to speak, but no sound came out.

“Kade!” I barked, my voice cracking with desperation.

He was already there, crouched beside me, his expression grim. “It was a silencer,” he said, his tone clipped. “The shot came from the balcony.”

“I don’t give a shit where it came from,” I snarled. “Fix her.”

    Endless adventures await on gα?ησν????s

By “fix her,” he knew what I meant.

He gave me a sharp nod, his hands moving with practiced precision as he worked to stem the bleeding.

My chest heaved as I looked around the room, searching for the bastard who had done this. But whoever they were, they were gone.

    Coward.

“Alpha,” Kade said, his voice pulling me back to Jasmine. “She’s stable for now, but we need to move her. It’s not safe here.”

    No shit.

Enzo rushed down to where I stood and tried to take her from me. One fucking look from me had the dickhead scowling away.

“If you’re so concerned, and the pro you think you are, you should be fucking searching for the bastard who did this!” I yelled. The moon goddess knows I’m only containing my rage and trying to act sane, even though I knew I wasn’t.

Carefully, I scooped her into my arms, her head lolling against my shoulder. She felt so fucking small, so fragile, and it made my stomach twist.

“I’ve got you,” I murmured, my voice breaking. “You’re going to be okay, Jas. You hear me? You’re going to be fucking okay.”

I carried her out of the room, my mind already racing.

    This wasn’t random.
