Chapter 244 : I Didn't Expect You To Be Such An Irrational Mo...

Since even Bernice was treating this seriously, that meant the opponent must be incredibly strong.

Could it be… the Demon King?

But would a Demon King wear black stockings and skirts?

Was he into cross-dressing?

Felyn gave up trying to make sense of it. If he couldn't figure it out, then there was no point thinking about it.

Since there wasn’t anything he could do to help Bernice right now, Felyn wandered aimlessly around the room.

Originally, he thought this was a territory for human adventurers, so he hadn’t touched anything. But now that he knew it belonged to a magical beast, wasn’t it perfectly reasonable to loot a bit?

Who knew—maybe all the things in this room were trophies from adventurers that the beast had killed.

If he found something valuable, that would be even better.

Felyn rummaged around the room but didn’t find anything particularly special.

Then, in the wardrobe, he came across a locked box.

“What’s this?”

It was a yellow case. Curious, he picked it up and gave it a shake.

No clinking of coins inside.

Could it be something like a spell seal?

Very likely.

And if it was something collected by a beast that even Bernice was wary of, then it was probably high-level magic.

Most likely filled with Seventh-Grade Spell Seals, right?

“Felyn, be careful.”

Just as Bernice spoke, the familiar purple magic array slowly began to form beneath their feet.

It was the same teleportation magic that had brought them to this room.

Looks like the beast was back.

“Get behind me. The Divine Spell still needs a little more time to activate.”

Bernice stood in the center of the floor, surrounded by radiant white divine light.

This was the deepest part of the dungeon. Reaching this far required extraordinary mental strength, even for someone like Bernice—it was no easy task.

She skillfully drew the Divine Spell formation. White and purple light intertwined on the ground, flooding the room with dazzling brilliance.

But the other side was faster.

Felyn had never felt such overwhelming magical pressure before.

Bernice was right. This being was far stronger than the demon Hubert.

Now Felyn was genuinely starting to worry. Could it really be the Demon King?

Magical energy erupted from the teleportation array, stirring up fierce winds that blew Viloti and Zervanie’s hair into the air.

Felyn had to cover his face with both hands—he couldn’t even keep his eyes open.

As the wind settled and the blinding purple glow faded, the white light of Bernice’s divine array once again filled the room.

A figure slowly appeared in Felyn’s vision.

But since Bernice was standing in front of him, he couldn’t clearly see who it was at first.

Viloti and Zervanie, standing beside him, were the first to get a clear look at the intruder’s face. Both girls raised their eyebrows, eyes widening in surprise.

Then, in perfect sync, they acted.

“Hey, what are you doing?! Why are you covering my eyes?!” Felyn protested, completely blind now thanks to Viloti and Zervanie’s hands.

“Felyn, the person in front of us can turn you to stone. If we cover your eyes, you won’t be affected,” Zervanie said calmly.

“And you two?” Felyn asked skeptically.

“She can only petrify boys,” Viloti added without hesitation.

“Seriously?”

“Of course not. There’s no such spell that only works on men.”

Their lie was simple: the girl standing in front of them was just too beautiful.

They couldn’t let Felyn see her. If he did, she’d definitely end up entangled with him somehow.

There were already enough pretty girls around Felyn—there was no way they could let another one join.

“How dare humans appear in my room? How did you even get in?”

The voice was surprisingly pleasant.

Cool, but tinged with anger.

“Your teleportation spell must’ve been on a timer. We just happened to walk into its range when it activated. That’s how we were passively transferred here,” Bernice responded from in front of Felyn, her tone unreadable.

“Viloti, what’s going on out there?” Felyn asked, eyes still covered.

“It’s… terrifying out here, Felyn. Don’t open your eyes no matter what.”

“Terrifying?” the voice stammered a little, clearly shaken.

“You three girls surrounding one man—are you protecting him? Is he worth it? Why are you shielding him like that?”

“I get it now. He’s one of those… types, right? Used you up, body and soul, and now you’re forced to protect him? How disgusting.”

“Did she just call me a—Viloti, is she talking about me?”

“Nope.”

“Am I the only man in this room besides her?”

“What kind of twisted logic is that?!”

Felyn could feel that the person on the other side was furious. But seriously, where the hell did she get the idea that he’d ‘used’ these girls?

Sure, they’d barged into her home, so her anger made sense.

But she was the one who left the door open—her teleportation spell dragged them in!

Still, now wasn’t the time to argue logic. You couldn’t reason with girls. And with a female magical beast? Even less.

“Bernice, how much longer?” Felyn whispered.

“A few more minutes. Can you keep her distracted? I can’t spare a hand.”

As Felyn racked his brain for how to stall her, the girl’s voice returned.

“My teleportation spell wasn’t calibrated properly. I won’t hold you responsible.”

“But I won’t forgive that man. I hate guys like him the most—hiding behind girls like cowards, using them for labor during the day, and then… and then doing those kinds of things at night… all night long, completely disregarding how the girls feel!”

“Hold on a second!” Felyn couldn’t help but snap. “You’re a magical beast—how do you even know all this about humans?! Using girls for labor during the day and doing indecent things all night? Where did you even get this twisted idea?! You definitely read that in Princess & Hero’s Grand Adventure, didn’t you?!”

“W-What?! I-I did not! Don’t make things up!”

“Oh please! You’ve got that book all over your room!”

“Those are clearly your books! I’m a proud member of the demon race—I’d never read something like that! Absolutely not!”

“So what, you’re just curious about the human world? That’s why you read our books?”

“W-Who’s curious?! I was just studying other species from a demonological perspective! And once again—I never read that book!”

“Page 1,383 is all about the hero seducing two princesses. That page is dog-eared and creased all over. You’ve totally been sneaking reads under the covers at night, haven’t you?”

Even with his eyes covered, Felyn expertly recited the book’s contents.

“Stop saying nonsense! That’s from Volume 5, Chapter 23! And there are no

creases!”

Her voice kept rising until she suddenly fell silent.

She realized her slip-up.

“You dare mock me, human?! You’ve got guts!”

“And to think you read that kind of book! I’m reporting you to the Demon King!”

Felyn pointed in her direction.

“You wouldn’t dare! T-The Demon King mustn’t be bothered with something so trivial! A-And I never read that book!”

He could hear her stamping her foot—furious.

“You humans barged into my room and dared to accuse me of reading forbidden texts?! You need to be punished!”

Felyn could sense the magical energy in the room spiking dramatically.

She was about to go all out!

“Bernice! Are you ready yet?!”

Felyn wasn’t just provoking her for fun—he was buying time, giving Bernice a chance to finish her Divine Spell.

Since the opponent was a girl—no, a female—Felyn knew exactly how to deal with her.

This was his area of expertise!

Just as he predicted, the girl hadn’t noticed Bernice’s preparations at all.

And Bernice finally completed the last divine pattern.

“Just in time.”

Her words echoed as white divine light blazed to life.

The long-prepared Divine Transfer finally activated.

“No escaping! And don’t you dare report this to the Demon King!”

Her voice clearly referred to the Princess & Hero’s Grand Adventure now—she was seriously worried about it.

But it was too late.

The spell activated instantly. Felyn felt his body growing lighter and lighter.

And just as he was being transferred, he opened his eyes and caught a glimpse of a blurry figure.

Dark purple hair. An incredible figure.

The next moment, darkness consumed his vision.

He and the box he held were gone—teleported to somewhere far away.
