CHAPTER 890: CHAPTER 888: DEALING WITH A TRAITOR

After making such plans, she entered the Golden Space and started working on the pills. That took a while before she was done.

Once she was done, she retired for the night and a new day dawned on her.

She took a morning jog, washed up and wore a robe since she didn’t want to change before having breakfast.

On her way to the dining room, she received a call from a manager of the 4S shop where her Valkyrie was going to be delivered.

After learning that the car had arrived, she promised to drop by the shop later to pick it up. She still had other things to do.

After taking that call, she was in a jovial mood. She was looking forward to the addition of this car. It was going to cause a lot of waves, more than the Aclerean. She could already picture how crazy it was going to be.

What she didn’t know was that the moment the 4S shop opened that door, the flashy red car attracted a lot of attention. The ZOOM club members were in an ecstatic mood. They started hurrying with their cars, eager to see this car. After all, there was no such car in Frin City. It was the first and having it here simply meant that either one of the big shots had bought it or the 4S shop was about to start a wave that wasn’t going to end very soon.

Unknown to them, the car was already an owner.

Anyway, back to Diamond, she and Ivy had their breakfast while listening to Auntie Janet who was reporting to Diamond about her daughter’s wellbeing.

It was worth to note that Diana has now been discharged from the hospital and resting at home. She would be resuming working the following week.

After breakfast, Diamond went to change into something formal. She was visiting the laboratory on this day for a serious matter.

Donning dark purple pantsuits with a white blouse and a nice pair of heels. She looked like a career-minded person and she loved this look. It’s been a while since she wore anything formal.

When Ivy saw her, she forced Diamond to pose for several photos until she was satisfied.

Since Ivy was her assistant, Diamond knew what she wanted. So, she let her be.

With the photos taken, the two left the villa in Ivy’s car and on the road, Admire’s team joined.

At times, she wouldn’t need bodyguards but the matter was very important, and it was best if there were people to maintain order.

It wasn’t just the security, but Ivy made a special call to the police station. And upon hearing about the serious matter, a team was dispatched.

While she was on the way to the laboratory, at the scene, Nancy was in the conference room with all the scientists and managerial team present.

As the person currently in charge of the laboratory, it was normal for her to be present.

"Today is the last day of the month and despite being mid-week, today we are here to discuss a few things regarding this month’s assignment as well as the start of the production of the beauty cream as well as the beverages. But before I start, does anyone have anything to share or complain about?" she said with a cool expression, her gaze scanning every single person in the room before briefly landing on a certain young scientist who sat there with a nonchalant expression.

Nancy’s gaze flickered with a murderous glint briefly before returning to normal as someone raised his hand.

"Manager, are we going to be producing the version of beauty cream we have been researching all this time or ...?"

Creak.

As Nancy was about to respond to the other, the door to the conference room suddenly opened and she looked towards the door with a smile on her face.

"I guess I don’t have to answer this question. Let the boss herself answer it for you," she responded with a smile rising to her feet as Kiara stepped into the office, followed by several bodyguards with stern-looking expressions.

When the staff saw that, they didn’t panic that much. After all, it was normal for Diamond to move with an entourage but not everyone thought the same.

A certain young man’s heart was pounding, and he was having a foreboding feeling that something was wrong.

He watched with uncertainty as the group of people stepped into the conference room before the lady herself made an appearance.

Diamond looked pretty good in formal wear. Moreover, now that she was dressing like that. she looked serious and the gentleness that they were used to seeing didn’t seem to exist.

Upon seeing that, the staff became tense wondering what else was going to be discussed. after all, they all knew how Diamond used a handsfree approach when it comes to managing her business. In a week, it would be a miracle if she attended one of her companies for a day.

She left everything to the managerial teams.

As soon as she stepped in, her gaze was scanning everyone and unlike Nancy who feared to startle the snake, Diamond openly looked at everyone and her gaze lingered a bit longer on the young man who was already panicking.

Diamond seeing that he was panicking clicked her tongue as she sat on the chair that Nancy had just vacated.

As soon as she was seated, Diamond looked at everyone with a smile and turned to look at Kiara and nodded her head.

As soon as Diamond did that, the screen behind Diamond lit up.

"I am a civilized person who has always wanted to do good in this world. That’s why when I earned my first bucket of gold, the first thing I did apart from getting my first farm, villa and car was to register the foundation.

I wanted to use the money that I have to do some good in every best possible way I could. For months I transferred money from my personal account to keep the foundation afloat. Even with the donations, the money wasn’t enough to do any projects but I never flinched when spending. Why? Because I love doing charity.

As long as I can do something to help others, I will try my best. That small act of kindness will help someone to achieve his or her dreams. Not only those that I am giving to but those who I am hiring," Diamond started making a speech that sounded very irrelevant to the lab staff but no one said a word. They all sat there listening attentively knowing that they would definitely get there.

Meanwhile, the screen started showing something interesting that made everyone sit straight.

There were staff profiles with some details that shouldn’t be in the hands of Diamond or Kiara of that matter.

"Seeing the way your faces are twitching, I guess that you are seeing something wonderful on the screen," Diamond said teasingly, relaxing in her chair, enjoying the expressions on their faces.

"Ma’am, why are you showing us these?" the current GM of the lab couldn’t help but ask, sweat forming on his forehead.

Diamond flashed a smile at him and responded, "let’s just say that when you received that invitation and got accepted into my company. It meant that I had your ten generations investigated. I know every single relative of yours, the number of livestock you own as well as those you are friends and enemies with," her tone very cool and her gaze landed on that young man for a while longer.

The young man was sweating buckets as he was listening to that and when Diamond looked at him, he knew that he was over.

The GM and others were sweating buckets as well. After all, that statement alone was enough to speak volumes. Those who were quick-witted couldn’t help but remember what had been hot recently. The company was purging traitors. Could it be that there was a traitor here?

Suddenly, the GM looked coldly at the staff thinking to himself which son of a gun was that to do that?

They were given wonderful benefits that made them even jump ships. If they were to betray Diamond after everything that she did for them, then wouldn’t they be labeled as ungrateful wretches?

Seeing that everyone was slowly understanding what was happening. Diamond nodded at Diamond who bowed lightly before leaving the conference room.

Seeing that Admire was gone, Diamond rose to her feet and spoke, "in this room full of people we trusted and gave special jobs, high salaries and benefits. Someone had betrayed me and I hate traitors the most," her tone was very cold as she slammed the desk.

"What?" the GM exclaimed in panic, his fear coming true. He looked at everyone in the room wondering which person was and when Diamond saw his reaction, she couldn’t help but nod her head with satisfaction.

This GM was an honest and hardworking one.

She just hoped that he would remain that way. Otherwise, she didn’t mind changing him to someone else.

There wasn’t any shortage of people in the world starving for work, after all.
