Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon
Chapter 863 - 860: Going Through Memories (2)
CHAPTER 863: 860: GOING THROUGH MEMORIES (2)
Myra.
Out of everybody, Myra’s condition was the worst because not only was her mana core in a dangerous state, her soul was also damaged.
Her memories were not whole like Kieran and Rhys. They were fragmented, and this was because of the damage to her soul. Although, it was not as bad as Yara’s.
He could still see some things, and he saw how she had gotten to her current state.
A beam of Eidolon’s last spiral attack had gone in her direction.
She used the strongest defensive skill she could muster, and this defensive skill was a sacrificial technique that could use one’s soul energy.
The beam she was defending against was very small. It was like blocking the beam of a flashlight.
But the beam possessed so much power that it shattered Myra’s defense in less than three seconds. And the damage it caused to her body was immense.
It damaged her mana veins, mana core, several of her organs, and her soul.
She was extremely lucky that the beam was extremely small, and that the defensive skill she used was good enough to reduce the danger it posed.
She fell unconscious the moment the beam pierced her left shoulder, and Corey shook his head as he left her memories.
She had no memories of him fighting Eidolon either, and this was the most important thing to him.
He took a step towards Aelric, but then he stopped and glanced at her.
’Out of everybody, she’s most likely to die.’ He furrowed his brows slightly.
Then he continued his approach towards Aelric.
He placed his right hand on his head, and he saw his memories.
He saw the child-like Necromancer trying to tank a blow from the clone of Eidolon to protect Zeke and Rhys.
A noble effort that nearly killed him.
He saw the clone of Eidolon splitting Aelric’s staff in half, and its blade-like appendage almost cutting his chest in two.
His memory cut out after the clone slapped him away with another appendage.
Just like the others, the only thing that mattered to him was if they had seen him fight Eidolon or not.
And he saw nothing of such in Aelric’s memories.
Then finally, Zeke.
As Corey’s mind dipped into Zeke’s memories, he braced himself for something... odd.
And he found it.
Just as he expected, Zeke hasn’t survived by luck.
The moment Eidolon’s clone nearly killed and incapacitated Aelric and Rhys, he brought out a talisman and activated it.
It was his life-saving card, and he used it the moment the clone set its eyes on him after Rhys and Aelric could no longer fight.
Corey was extremely curious about the talisman because the runes and formations he could see on it were not low-leveled at all.
They utilized both spatial and temporal runes, and although Corey could recreate the formation and talisman with ease, he was surprised that Zeke was able to get his hands on such a high-leveled life-saving talisman.
Although Zeke activated the talisman as quickly as possible, his mana control and understanding of the talisman was too poor, so it didn’t activate fast enough.
It was a second too late, and this allowed the clone to send a sharp spine at Zeke. The spine cut off Zeke’s arm, and caused him immense pain.
A second after his arm was cut off, the talisman was fully activated.
It created a spatial disruption that pulled him into another fold in space. It was like a space between space.
It was not comparable to moving through the void, but it was also not the same as using normal teleportation.
It didn’t fully remove him from reality, but it distorted his presence enough to fool the clone’s senses and let the brunt of the following shockwaves pass over him.
The talisman did not only use his mana to activate, it used some of his soul energy. However, it was not enough to damage Zeke’s soul.
Corey watched as Zeke remained in this position for a long time until the battle between him and Eidolon was over.
One thing that relieved Corey was that Zeke could not move from his position, unless he wanted the effects of the talisman to wear off.
As for the clone?
Corey watched as Zeke watched the clone finally succumb to his poisons that had seeped its way into the depths of its body.
After some time, the memory ended and Corey removed his hand from Zeke’s head.
Zeke had survived. Although barely, he had survived.
Corey looked at him as he snored, and an intrigued light flashed in his eyes.
’He was lucky that the clones did not have the ability to manipulate space and time like the main body.’
’If they did, I doubt he would have survived.’
Corey then looked to Zeke’s right, where a small pile of unassuming ash lay.
This was the remnant of the talisman after it served its purpose.
He wondered briefly where Zeke had obtained the talisman. He doubted there were rune masters and formation masters that could create such a talisman.
And he had also not seen the talisman in the Miracle Hunter Association.
But just as Corey had this thought, his mind went to Pamela.
’Could it be her?’
Corey frowned, but then he pushed the thought to the back of his mind.
It didn’t matter to him at the moment.
What mattered now to him was that Zeke hadn’t seen him, but he had sensed his aura on the body of the clone.
He would have missed this because it was merely a suspicion, but Zeke had sensed his aura on the clone, and the seed of doubt was in his mind.
Although Zeke had not thought deeply about it, Corey did not ignore this seed, and he removed it.
He went through Zeke’s memories once again, and when he saw nothing else, he was satisfied.
Then he finally withdrew from Zeke’s mind.
He slowly got to his feet, and his gaze swept over the six battered bodies around him.
A moment later, violet and sky blue threads seeped from his fingertips.
Dream Healing
The threads entered the wounds, mana veins, mana cores, and soul of the Thirteenth Dawn one by one.
He did not fully heal them.
But he made sure that every single one of them had stable life signs. He made sure their fractured mana cores and souls were repaired. And he also made sure that they had enough strength for their bodies to begin natural recovery.
His goal was for them not to die. At least not now. Not so soon.
They would survive.
And they wouldn’t know why.
He exhaled softly, and then he turned around.
The whist mist of sleeping poison clung gently to the air around him like a ghostly fog.
He looked to the depths of the Dying City.
The silence was deeper there, and Corey had a feeling that something was waiting for him.
Expecting him.
The feeling was unnerving, but Corey was not afraid of this at all.
He walked forward.
One step.
Then another.
Each step he took was like he was crossing hundreds of meters. He was shrinking the space around him.
And some moments later, he vanished into the gloom of the Dying City.
