Single Wish: Rise Of The Omniscient Paragon
Chapter 880 - 877: Notifications
CHAPTER 880: 877: NOTIFICATIONS
When Corey heard the dings of the notifications from the Universal System, he was not surprised.
In fact, he had expected it.
And why wouldn’t he?
He had single handedly killed a powerful Tier 6 once again. Not only that, he had a created a powerful spell which he was definitely sure would get a grade from the Universal System.
’Let’s see what I got.’
With a thought, he went through the translucent screens that were before him.
Once again, he saw rows of rapidly changing words and symbols blur across the screen for a fraction of a second.
An average Tier 3 or even Tier 6 would find it difficult to process what these rapidly changing words and symbols were, but with Record and his Stars of Consciousness, he was able to decipher it.
[TRIAL BATTLE LOG UPDATED...]
[RECORDING SUCCESSFUL...]
[DATA LOGGING... COMPLETE]
[SYSTEM ANALYSIS COMMENCING]
’Hmm. So it’s the same thing as the last time.’
Corey raised a brow, and then the words on the screens stabilized.
[Individual Corey Junior Zane. Once again, your actions have defied the predicted probability matrix.]
[You not only defeated a fragment of Virendell’s Thirteenth Calamity, an abomination that possessed powers far beyond its Tier.]
[You defeated the abomination by creating a completely new and unknown spell.]
[A spell whose roots is based on ancient magical knowledge and modern magical knowledge. A spell which is the bane of shadows, darkness, and spirits alike.]
[The feat of creating a Mythic Grade spell has been recorded.]
[You have completely eradicated and purged a minor source of the corruption of the Dying City.]
[No assistance detected. Solo kill confirmed.]
After going through these notifications, his attention was brought to three things.
The identity of the colossal shadow. The grade of his new spell. And the fact that the colossal shadow was a minor source of the corruption of the Dying City.
Regarding the identity of the colossal shadow, he was a little bit surprised by it because he had no records of the Thirteenth Calamity of Virendell in any of the books he took from the Archive.
There was no mention of it, and he wondered why.
He could think of several reasons if he pieced two and two together, but he chose not to because it was not going to help him in any way.
However, what was slightly unnerving to him about this information, was the fact that the Universal System said that the colossal shadow was a fragment of Virendell’s Thirteenth Calamity.
The colossal shadow was extremely powerful, and if this was just a fragment of its original form?
It further solidified his hypothesis that Virendell and the world it was in had been a world that most likely had Immortals and maybe...
Just maybe...
Gods and Deities.
He was not certain, but he had that feeling considering all the knowledge that was in his mind about Virendell.
The second thing which took his attention was the mention of the grade of his new spell.
’Not bad I guess... Mythic Grade.’
When it came to the grading system of skills, majority had no idea that there was even a grading system of skills.
Why?
Because majority of the skills most people possessed, had no grades.
Corey could remember the Wandering Paragon- the first Paragon he ever encountered, telling him that the Universal System disdained to grade certain skills because they were too weak or not noteworthy to grade.
As for the grading system of skills which the Universal System regarded, there were only five grades.
The lowest grade was Legendary Grade. Followed by Mythic Grade. Then Immortal Grade. Then Ancient Grade. And lastly... Divine Grade.
Apart from Lightning Movement Art which is an Ancientgradeskill, and Full Counter which is a Legendary skill- both skills which he got when he was still a Tier 0, he had never truly bothered to check the grade of his skills.
And he did not really care too much about doing that because it was pointless in his eyes.
To him, every skill was good and even the simplest fireball could be a trump card or a life saving skill.
As long as one was extremely proficient in a skill, that said skill could become a terrifying weapon.
’But regardless. Creating a Mythic Grade skill feels good. It’s just three steps away from the Divine Grade.’
’Even my Hexagon Barrier which I created had no grade. Although Hexagon Nova Shield should have one... right?’
Corey shook his head, and then he focused on the last part of the notification that caught his attention.
The fact that the colossal shadow was a minor source of the corruption of the Dying City.
Corey had no idea.
He had speculated when he first encountered the Thirteenth Calamity of Virendell in the form of a massive black lake, that the black lake was a source of the corruption of the Dying City.
But with the confirmation from the Universal System, he did not know whether to feel happy or worried that he had purged two sources of the corruption of the Dying City.
’Hopefully, my fears don’t come to pass.’
Corey then shifted his attention to the next set of notifications.
----
[SYSTEM GRADE EVALUATION: EXTREME DEVIATION]
[Expected battle grade: Death (99.5%)]
[Result: Absolute Victory]
[Final System Verdict: Monumental Anomaly]
----
’Oh wow. The expected battle grade was a 98.3% probability of me dying against Eidolon. But against the colossal shadow, the Universal System predicted the probability of me dying to be 99.5%?’
’That low? Just a 0.5% chance of survival?’
’I don’t know if I should feel offended or proud that I completely the Universal System’s predictions.’
Corey shook his head with a wry smile, and then he went to the next set of notifications.
----
[The Universe does not ignore Breakers.]
[Keep on rising amongst the ranks of Breakers and who knows what level you might reach.]
[The echoes of your battle have passed beyond the Trial Walls once again.]
[Your feats have been recorded.]
[The Ancients are watching and curious.]
----
’Yeah. That’s not good.’ Corey frowned.
