CHAPTER 882: 879: PROS AND CONS (BONUS)

[This Chapter is thanks to RedWolf17.]

-----

As Corey sat on the air with the notification screens before him, he decided to go through each of the rewards before finally making his decision.

The first reward.

----

1. [Title: Sunbreaker]

A unique Title granted to those who recreate light at the heart of corruption and darkness.

Passive Buff: +35% effectiveness of all Light and Fire Element spells.

Title Effect: Passive suppression of corrupted or darkness or shadow entities below Tier 6.

----

Once again, he got another Title as a reward, and the Title was also a unique title. When he compared it to Eclipse Slayer which he got for killing Eidolon, he knew that Sunbreaker could be placed side by side with Eclipse Slayer.

----

[Title: Eclipse Slayer]: A unique Title granted to those who defeat beings whose cores possess dimensional mutations

Passive Buff: +20% resistance to conceptual damage and spiritual corrosion.

Title Effect: Grants minor passive suppression effect against Demi-Eldritch Beings

----

The description of Eclipse Slayer appeared in his mind once again, and he went through it for a fraction of a second before coming to a conclusion.

’If it were me, I’ll place Eclipse Slayer above Sunbreaker because it deals with Demi-Eldritch Beings, spiritual corrosion, and conceptual damage.’

’These three things are extremely dangerous and rare. I’m very sure that finding skills, powers, or items that deals with any of these three things is extremely difficult.’

’As for Sunbreaker... It offers more percentage than Eclipse Slayer, but it deals with Light, Fire, and Darkness... And I’m fairly certain that these three things cannot be compared to Demi-Eldritch Beings, spiritual corrosion, or conceptual damage.’

’If I can choose not to pick Eclipse Slayer which is more tempting. Then I can surely l choose not to pick Sunbreaker.’

Although Sunbreaker was a unique title, it was not a title that was extremely appealing to him compared to Eclipse Slayer, and so he decided to move to the next reward.

----

2. [Weapon: Dawnsplit Fang]

A Blue Grade unique growth weapon that was crafted from the crystallized fang of a slain Solar Drake. It hates all things that fester in the dark.

Effect 1: Shifts between dagger, short sword, or whip-form at will. Its initial form is that of a long, jagged dagger.

Effect 2: Absorbs ambient light to increase sharpness. Gains bonus damage in bright environments.

Effect 3: Deals True Damage to spirits and corrupted entities.

Unique Skill 1: Rend the Veil- A charged strike that tears through illusory space and burns metaphysical bindings.

Unique Skill 2: Radiant Lash- A condensed arc of solar essence lashes out like a scythe.

Hidden Property: The weapon remembers kills and may evolve if used to slay a powerful Light or Shadow creature.

----

When Corey saw this weapon, he was surprised because he didn’t expect to get a weapon as a reward from the Universal System.

The Dawnsplit Fang was a truly powerful weapon for several reasons.

It was a Blue grade weapon, and one should not forget that the grading system of weapons went from Red Grade, to Orange Grade, to Yellow Grade, to Green Grade, to Blue Grade, Indigo Grade, and then to Violet Grade.

Apart from his Demonic Sabers and the Ancient Spear which had unknown grades, the only item he had that was of a higher grade than the Dawnsplit Fang was his Genesis Armament which was Indigo Grade.

Not only was Dawnsplit Fang at Blue Grade, it was also a growth weapon with several effects.

Not all weapons at the Blue grade had as many effects and skills as the Dawnsplit Fang, but the Dawnsplit Fang had.

And there were two effects which appealed the most to Corey.

----

Effect 1: Shifts between dagger, short sword, or whip-form at will. Its initial form is that of a long, jagged dagger.

Effect 2: Absorbs ambient light to increase sharpness. Gains bonus damage in bright environments.

----

These two effects might not seem extraordinary, but for Corey who had a future plan for a specific weapon he wanted to craft in the future, these two effects were the most appealing effects for him.

And the fact that the weapon was a growth weapon was also an important factor that made Corey to not just ignore the weapon as one of the choices he could make.

’Hmm.’

Corey hummed slightly, and then he went to the next reward.

----

3. [Consumable: Blood of the Burnt Crown]

The diluted ichor of a forgotten fire archmage slain in Virendell’s ancient era.

Effect 1: Temporarily grants you the Fire Crown Authority, allowing you to issue commands to any flame-based entity (up to Tier 6) or alter the properties of any flame-based spell.

Effect 2: Allows the summoning of a Half-Step Tier 7 Flame Elemental that was once bound to the Flame Pantheon of Virendell.

Duration: Ten minutes (may be shortened based on environment)

Limit: Single use

Warning: May burn your spirit if overused.

Note: The Flame Elemental is not under full control. Negotiation or force of will may be necessary.

----

At first, Corey was a bit intrigued by this reward when he saw it. And he was intrigued for one reason and one reason alone.

The ability to summon a Half-Step Tier 7 Flame Elemental.

The other ability to issue commands to any flame-based entity, even if up to Tier 6, was not appealing to him at all.

Even the description of it being the blood of a dead Archmage of Virendell was also not appealing to him.

Only the ability to summon a Half-Step Tier 7 Flame Elemental was appealing to him, and at first, he contemplated choosing it.

But he changed his mind not too long after.

And he did this for one reason and one reason alone.

Because he could do this without the blood.

Arcane Elemental Runeweaving did not only give him the abilities to weave runes to summon elemental attacks, he could also use it to summon elementals if he had the knowledge.

And he did have the knowledge.

Some of the books he took from the Archive had information on how to summon elementals, and if he wanted to, he could do it with his capabilities.
