Chapter 171: Felix Is A Spy?
CHAPTER 171: FELIX IS A SPY?
The four Grablurs flew over Roven and Steve, seconds away from crashing into them with their heavy bodies.
Fortunately, that scene was prevented as a few fireballs and some aqua jets were hurled onto the Grablurs that were suspended in the air.
"Got them!"
"Yess!"
Eric shouted from afar as he high-fived a man standing beside him happily.
Roven smiled as he saw what happened and quickly ran past the surrounding Grablurs as he made his way towards the group.
When he finally reached back to their side, he quickly lowered Steve down to rest.
"Whoa whoa, what happened to the kid?", Keliot asked in surprise as he saw that Steve was knocked out unconscious.
"I told you guys we don’t have a medic here, so why did you rush in so recklessly?! The situation has become terrible now."
Roven gestured at Eric to come near and turned to Keliot with a guilty look.
"I’m sorry, Sir. But we couldn’t remain still when we got to know our teammate was in danger. We had to help him."
Eric arrived beside his two teammates and brought out the bag he had been carrying from the start of the guild wars, from which Roven took a vial of potion.
"Well, I’ll have to respect your loyalty and camaraderie but...", Keliot sighed as he looked at Steve in pity.
"Was that supposed to be the help you were trying to achieve?"
After giving Steve a dose of the recovery potion, Roven turned his head and stared at the other side of the tunnel.
"Oh, believe me. Felix isn’t someone who’d need anybody’s help... He’s just better than us all."
While Keliot got confused at the boy’s confidence in his teammate and thought it was just him getting his hopes up, Eric suddenly let out a yelp.
"Holy shit! What the hell’s happening out there?!"
Keliot and the others quickly turned their heads while some of them were still fighting, and as Roven gave a small smile, they saw a silver-haired boy leading a group of unknown people through the monsters’ horde as they cut down every Grablur on their path.
Everyone turned silent, as this wasn’t the scene they were expecting to see after the constant battle with the huge horde of the Grablurs.
"Am I seeing things? Or is that really a group of strangers following behind our guy....?", a random member of the group mumbled in disbelief.
"You aren’t wrong, that’s definitely Felix.", Eric replied softly as he grumbled. "And I’m sure that’s more trouble he’s bringing here..."
Keliot stopped gawking at the scene as he recalled seeing some of the people from the group Felix was with as he shouted abruptly.
"For fuck’s sake! That’s the people from the six guilds alliance! What the hell is that guy Felix doing with them?!", Keliot turned to Roven and asked aggressively as he got a bit angry.
"Boy, did your teammate betray us?! Was he a spy from the six guilds?! Is this some kind of a trap?!"
"What!? That’s bullshit! Felix isn’t a traitor!!", Roven all of a sudden turned mad, his eyes blazing as he flipped out.
"Sir Keliot, there must be some reason Felix is with them. Why don’t we try asking him when he comes here?", Eric intervened when he saw Roven getting worked up.
He hadn’t seen his friend getting this ticked off over anything, not even when they had talked badly of his sister to his face.
Keliot and Roven stared at each other for a few seconds before the former sighed and said in distress.
"You guys don’t understand... There are two Rank 3 men among that group of people. Not to mention their group is slightly bigger than ours."
He shook his head and continued in worry as he suggested. "We’re better off retreating from here before they reach us. Not every one of us would be lucky enough to survive if we did fight them."
"Especially that unconscious kid.", he gestured at Steve.
All of them turned to look at the green-haired boy at the mention of him, just in time to see him open his eyes.
"Cough cough.... Roven... Did... Did you get Felix?", was the first thing he said after waking up.
Roven gave a large smile and replied as a matter of fact. "Of course, man. He’s just over there, taking care of the last monsters. You rest for now, alright? Felix will be here in a moment."
Seeing Steve nod and closing his eyes back, Roven glanced at Keliot and said seriously.
"Sir Keliot, you’ll have to believe me. As the leader of our team, I can guarantee you that Felix never betrayed us. There has to be a valid reason why he’s with our enemies. And if he did betray us.... then I’ll use everything in my power to help everyone escape at the cost of my life."
Keliot took it all with a serious face and remained silent as everyone waited for his decision.
Eric just stared at Roven with a weird look in his eyes, as he wondered whether something was going on between Felix and Roven that he wasn’t aware of as Roven was even about to risk his life for him.
At last, Keliot opened his mouth, surprising them all.
"Alright. I guess we can wait here until we hear what Felix has to say. We’re kind of near the base anyway, they’ll probably get our corpses back in case we die today...."
Everybody froze, their faces turning a bit pale as Keliot scuffed seeing their reaction.
"What? I was just cracking a joke!"
As the situation turned a bit awkward, a voice called out curiously from behind them between bated breaths.
"What are guys talking about? A joke? Let me hear that too."
When a sudden murmur interjected into their small gathering of sorts that had turned silent, all the people of the group turned to the source.
There stood a silver-haired boy with a curious look on his face, though his eyes occasionally moved to the knocked-out guy who looked absolutely exhausted.
"What happened to Steve by the way? He looks pretty.... down to earth right now."
Felix wasn’t used to seeing a silent and out of action Steve, as the boy was always and every time either jumping around pulling pranks or hacking down his sword on any poor monster.
Before anyone could react to his sudden appearance, the rest of the group from behind him arrived as Nicole asked cautiously.
"Hey Felix, what about the rest of the Rank 1 Grablurs? There’s like a bunch of them still hanging onto the walls."
"Oh, you guys take care of them. I’m not interested in the weaker ones."
Felix replied without a care as the Rank 1 monsters didn’t provide him any skill points.
But even if they did, he wouldn’t have tired himself out taking down each one of them for just that measly amount of skill points.
Nicole didn’t know how to reply as he was asking for the boy’s help with his strange yet useful abilities, but from their recent interactions, he had found out something.
Like his abilities, the boy was also strange, maybe even more than what they had seen till now.
Nicole then turned to the group of people who were supposedly the scouting team Felix had been tagging along with.
"Nice to meet you guys, I’m Nicole. Let me just take care of these monsters, then we can have a long chat, alright?"
Before they could respond, Nicole dashed away, handling the Grablurs along with his group.
Everybody then turned to Felix, after which a great deal of drama broke out amongst them.
