Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 152 Another Blind Box
CHAPTER 152: CHAPTER 152 ANOTHER BLIND BOX
The group saw that Kane had already considered the situation, so they chose not to say more.
"Quick, see what’s inside the other blind box." After understanding how the Dungeon could be acquired, Longbei’s attention was entirely on the other blind box.
Kane brought the other blind box to the center and slowly unlocked its latch, then opened it.
Inside were five identical red gemstones, emitting a faint red glow.
Kane gently placed the five gemstones in his palm, inspecting them.
[Communication Stone] ×5
[Souvenirs]
[Color: Silver]
[Attributes:]
[Auto Mana Regeneration]
[Moderately Sturdy]
[Skills: Word Transmission] (Identical Communication Stones can transmit words to each other, and multiple stones can be linked as a group for simultaneous conversation.)
[Introduction: Otherworldly phone, communication is not possible between the Dungeon and the outside world, and between different Dungeons. Communication only works within the same Dungeon or when in the outside world at the same time.]
After the extravagant item from the previous blind box, Kane wasn’t too surprised by anything outrageous that could come out of this one.
Although he said that, the items from this blind box were much needed by them, considered very useful equipment for their situation.
With this equipment, they wouldn’t be as helplessly separated after teleportation, heavily relying on luck to regroup.
Otherwise, who knows how much time would be wasted.
After placing the five gemstones in his palm, Kane infused them with magic power, causing the stones to emit a faint red glow.
But these five rubies were only as big as thumbs. How could they be equipped?
Kane thought for a moment, crafted five lapel pins from clay, hardened them, and embedded the gemstones, even making a special badge suitable for Lilu.
This small amount of material, coupled with the absence of magic attributes, didn’t consume much of his magic power.
Kane placed the completed gemstone lapel pins into everyone’s hands: "Attach this equipment to yourself, infuse it with magic power, and then we can communicate with each other without distance limitation as long as we’re in the same space."
After hearing Kane’s explanation, everyone carefully clipped the ruby lapel pins to their inner linings, hiding them under their clothes.
Longbei was the first to infuse a little magic power into the ruby and began to talk: "Hey, can you hear me? Can you hear me? Can you hear me?"
The loud voice directly filled Kane and the others’ ears, making them involuntarily plug their ears.
Then they quickly infused magic power into the ruby lapel pins, adjusting the volume output inside.
The sound was converted by the ruby and directly injected into the ears, so outsiders could barely hear it, making it exceptionally clear to Kane and the others, though initially very piercing before adjustment.
With adjustments, Longbei’s voice finally normalized.
"Hey, this is Lilu, I can hear you, I can hear you, haha, this thing is really fun."
The group kept adjusting the settings of the rubies and experimenting with each other.
One has to admit this thing is quite practical, allowing one to switch to team channels or communicate with someone individually.
Now that the blind boxes were fully opened, it was time to proceed to the next layer.
With Longbei’s arm healed by the Skeleton Boss, he resumed his position at the front, holding the shield.
They passed through the tunnel and emerged from the eerie forest, returning to the clearing they had visited before.
Arriving at the grotesque temple, they looked toward the tunnel leading to the lower level.
Kane squatted beside the tunnel, checking for any signs of others passing through. Although the team that set the traps was already deceased or gone, they couldn’t rule out other teams that may have ventured into the lower layer before them.
After confirming no traces, Kane once again took out the magic item for summoning goblins.
Using it, he summoned a team of goblins again.
He ordered them into the tunnel, and when they hesitated at the entrance, Kane walked behind and kicked them down, one by one.
Otherwise, they would stall for half a day.
"I’ll go down with Cotton Candy first. As always, you guys follow two minutes later."
With that, Kane rode Cotton Candy and floated down the tunnel.
Passing through the mist, they floated over the landing spot, where the goblins were chaotically scuffling around on the ground.
Seeing the goblins had not triggered any traps, Kane opened his Eagle Eye to explore surroundings, confirming no magical ensnarements, before jumping off Cotton Candy and landing.
Two minutes later, Kreya and the others appeared at the landing spot.
"Looks like we’re the first Explorer team to reach this layer," Kreya said, dusting off her clothes.
Without a command from Kane, the goblins began to frolic and make noise around the group, chattering non-stop.
Soon, however, they all turned into faint light and disappeared, as Kane couldn’t tolerate their noise and canceled the summons.
The group began observing their surroundings to assess the environment of this Dungeon layer.
This layer transitioned away from the underground, the ceiling no longer heavy stone, but an infinite, deep night sky.
The moonlight was absent, replaced by twinkling stars.
Surrounding them was a vast meadow, devoid of tombstones or scattered bones; even the faint, putrid air was gone.
This was all too abnormal - was this really a scene befitting an Undead Dungeon?
Kane opened his Eagle Eye, using the starlight to glimpse into the distance.
At the horizon appeared to be a large cluster of buildings, unclear in outline, but their shadows cast against the faint starlight were prominent.
Based on his current exploration experience, Kane surmised that the entrance to the lower level and various Dungeon monsters were likely within those buildings.
"Let’s head this way; I see signs of buildings over there."
With his words, Kane led the team down the slope.
As they stepped off the slope, a message from the Mist reached their minds.
The single opportunity to return to the outside world appeared, indicating that they had explored halfway through.
From this, they inferred the final boss awaited on the sixth level.
Kane turned to his companions.
"So, want to take a few days off outside?"
Kreya thought for a moment and said, "We can rest for a day. Though other Explorer teams are vying for the chance to kill the final boss, we should be the first to reach this layer, so there’s no rush."
"I’m not boasting, but our team should count among the top-notch in our tier. For any Explorers starting in the same Dungeon as us to reach here, it’s unlikely they avoided injury unless they’re reckless, so they’d need to rest too. Nothing to worry about."
Longbei was the most experienced Explorer in their team.
Since everyone agreed on taking a break, the captain also followed their opinion.
But there was one more thing to do before that, Kane called Meizike over to whisper a few words.
Before long, Kane said, "Alright, let’s go then,"
and with that, they disappeared from the meadow.
