Skill Extraction: Exploring Dungeons
Chapter 163: Reaching the Peak (Extra Update 5/5)
CHAPTER 163: CHAPTER 163: REACHING THE PEAK (EXTRA UPDATE 5/5)
Lilulu flapped her wings, fluttering around Kane, chattering nonstop.
"Amazing, Kane is really amazing. How could you melt such a large piece of metal armor into iron? How did you come up with it? Teach me, quickly."
Kane smiled, reached out to ruffle her hair, and didn’t answer her. Instead, he conjured a large barrage dragonfly and let her sit on it comfortably.
He controlled the barrage dragonfly to flip up and down around the vicinity.
This immediately diverted Lilulu’s attention, and she began hooting wildly while sitting on the barrage dragonfly.
Then, Kane led everyone to the place where the metal armor was melted into a steel plate. This steel plate was a kind of dark green, with fine forging patterns on it, demonstrating its extraordinariness.
Kane squatted down and placed his hand on the steel plate. A coldness more biting than other metals spread to his hand. He wanted to identify it but got no reaction.
It indeed seemed to be just an ordinary steel plate.
Longbei, on the other hand, lay on the steel plate, gently stroking it with his hand, seeming very interested in it, as if he recognized the material.
Seeing Longbei’s expression, Kane asked, "So, what do you think? Is there something special about the material of this steel plate?"
Longbei didn’t respond to Kane’s question but continued his obsessive examination of the various parts of the steel plate.
Watching Longbei’s obsessed state, Kane stood beside him without further disturbance.
Everyone quietly watched Longbei’s actions just like that.
Of course, Lilulu, who was flying back and forth on the barrage dragonfly above his head, was an exception.
After quite a while, Longbei finally left the steel plate.
Reluctantly withdrawing his gaze, he turned to the people beside him and explained, "This material is extremely rare now. It once appeared in a certain dungeon, the details of which are now unrecorded. However, the metal’s properties have been documented in books throughout history.
That is, extreme magic resistance. Although this steel plate material doesn’t achieve complete magic immunity, it can at least reach 70% magic resistance, indicating that it is a degraded version of that material.
If armor were made from this material, it would be a mage’s slayer, a caster’s nightmare."
So this might explain why Kane and the others, using Holy Light attribute attacks, couldn’t deal significant damage to this undead.
Now, there is an important question coming up.
Kane went over to lift this large steel plate and asked, "Do you think we can take this thing out of the dungeon? This shouldn’t count as loot that dropped, right?"
To Kane’s question, everyone shook their heads blankly.
They hadn’t encountered such a situation before either.
Logically, this kind of monster should drop at least one piece of magic material upon death, but this time, it didn’t. It’s unclear whether it’s somehow integrated into the steel plate.
"Forget it, let’s not worry about it. First, put it into the space equipment. If it disappears after the level is cleared, then naturally we can’t take it out of the dungeon." With that said, he tossed the steel plate into the space equipment for safekeeping.
This time, however, Kane didn’t hurry to continue ascending but sat down directly on the spot.
"Let’s rest for a bit and wait for me to recover my Magic Power before we move up."
After hearing this, everyone sat down one after another, taking out some snacks from their space equipment to eat.
After some time had passed, Kane stood up and brushed the dust off his pants, "Let’s go, let’s continue."
With the team organized, they continued to advance forward.
Along the way, there was nothing around, just bare mountain cliffs and biting cold wind.
As they climbed higher, piles of snow began to accumulate around the cliffs, and the path underfoot became slippery.
Kane and the others continued advancing upward, with the snow piling up more and more until the entire path was covered in white snow.
"Stop for a moment."
Hearing Kane’s call, everyone halted.
"Raise your legs one at a time and then come closer to me."
Except for Kreya, who seemed enlightened, everyone else looked puzzled but still followed Kane’s instructions, lifting their legs one by one.
Then they felt something seemed to have been added to the soles of their shoes. They stamped their feet on the ground and found their grip more stable, with little chance of slipping.
This was the anti-slip cleats Kane had conjured for them.
Longbei happily bounced a couple of times, testing the anti-slip effect underfoot, "Not bad, Kane, this thing works great."
"Alright, let’s keep moving forward."
With that said, everyone gathered around Kane and continued to advance towards the mountain.
The cold wind at the edge of the path blew more fiercely, even stirring up a blizzard. Their clothing consisted only of various armor and leather armor, without any warm attire.
The cold wind, mixed with ice and snow, was even more biting.
Kane directly conjured a hemispherical shield to enclose everyone inside. The cold wind was instantly blocked by the shield, and everyone suddenly felt warmer.
However, this shield couldn’t move forward with Kane, so they had to add two wheels at the bottom and then have everyone push it forward. Compared to the biting wind and snow, this bit of exertion was nothing.
"Warm Balloon!"
Lilulu exclaimed, and the magic wand in her hand turned into a balloon tied with a string, floating above her head, emitting a warm glow.
Holding the balloon that radiated heat, she flew around everyone’s heads, "How’s that? Feels warm, doesn’t it?"
Although it was indeed warm, for such a peculiar magic effect, everyone could only inwardly complain, then proceeded to compliment her.
As time passed, the snow on the road became thicker, making progress increasingly difficult.
Everyone stopped talking and concentrated on moving forward.
No one knew how long it took, but finally, Kane saw the end of the path, the summit right in front of them.
"Come on, let’s push a little harder, the summit is just ahead."
Upon hearing Kane’s words, everyone lifted their heads slightly to check above, confirming Kane wasn’t mistaken. In an instant, excitement surged through them, and they pushed the shield wildly forward.
At last, they reached the top of the mountain.
As soon as they reached the summit, they felt no trace of cold wind or snow, as if they had entered another world. Turning around, they saw that outside, the wind still blew and snow still fell.
Looking around upwards, what lay before Kane and the others was a smooth surface, with the ground paved with neat stone slabs. There were no stones or decorations on the site, only a black stone pavilion standing in the center.
In the center of the stone pavilion, there was a circular opening that was clearly visible, but sitting at the edge of the pavilion was a figure clad in a magic robe.
Upon seeing this figure, Kane and the others immediately became vigilant, readying their weapons.
