Microorganisms and lower plants, carried by the air currents, had already started to settle around "Atlantis." A small amount of oxygen had begun to appear in the atmosphere but not enough for animals to breathe. Lower plants, however, could withstand such harsh conditions; besides photosynthesis, plants also needed oxygen.

"What has happened to this Life Space?"

Suddenly realizing something, Louis Landon was taken aback, unaware of when the Life Space outside 'Skylight' had undergone such a transformation.
