CHAPTER 617: COMPLETION

Since the morning after, I’ve been making the fittings for the sword while thinking about what to enchant it with.

I made the tang long, so if the blade is 40cm long, the hilt is also long.

I used Elder Treant for the hilt, dragon leather to coil around it, and then I twisted together string processed from mithril as well as with strong threads that I asked Kaede to produce and then coiled them on the hilt.

Both the wood and string on the hilt had high magic power conductivity, and they were strong and durable too.

The scabbard was synthesized using the ribs and membrane of dragon species. I tried to not decorate it, so an observant person might notice that the materials were expensive, but at a glance, it looks nothing out of the ordinary.

Even though I had completely assembled this sword, I had spent the entire day thinking about what to enchant the two swords until it had gotten dark.

Just past noon the next day, Doganbo-san and Golan-san finished crafting the fittings of the sword a day early and had brought it to me.

「That was quick.」

「Ou, we were so excited we worked harder than we should have at our age.」

「Doganbo, first thing’s first,, show it to Takumi.」

「Ohh, you’re right.」

「Then let’s head to the workshop.」

Since there was also a matter of enchantments, so we headed to the workshop.

Since we’re only doing enchantments today, it wasn’t the smithy that we headed to, but rather the workshop where Laeva and I always go to.

When we arrived at the workshop, I received the cloth-wrapped sword from Doganbo-san.

The silver on the hemming and pommel were likely mithril alloy. It was a beautiful and elegant color characteristic of that material.

A magic crystal was embedded into the pommel, likely to enhance magic power.

The guard was sculped intricately too, and I could tell it was also mithril alloy based on its color.

「Amazing! Golan-san! Doganbo-san! You’ve made something too beautiful that I’m unworthy of it!」

「Considering the quality of the sword that you forged, it needed to be of this quality at the very least.」

「Mhmm, I’m glad you like it. We had fun making it too.」

It seems it was also a satisfying creation to Doganbo-san and Golan-san, and they looked happy at my reaction.

「Okay, then I’ll enchant it.」

「「Ou!」」

Since it seemed like they wanted to observe it to the end, I was going to finish bestowing the enchantments on the swords.

I unsheathed both swords and arranged them on my workbench.

I’ll prepare the catalysts and enchant the spells one by one.

For the long sword, I applied the Light attribute and the same Lightning attribute as was in Tsukiyomi. Then I enhanced the swords abilities.

As for the shorter sword, I bestowed the Fire attribute to it in addition to Light attribute.

After that, I enchanted 『Physical Attack Resistance』 on both the scabbard and hilt.

Given how both the scabbard and the hilt had top quality materials, they were much sturdier weapons compared to swords sold in stores. but I still applied 『Physical Attack Resistance』 and 『Self Repair』as a precautionary measure.

Holy Sword Fudou generates a purifying flame when infused with a large amount of magic power.

「I name them Holy Sword Vajra and Fudou.」

Doganbo-san and Golan-san took turns holding the Holy Sword Vajra and Holy Sword Fudou, inspecting them as if they were ingraining it into their memory.

「Ou, Golan-aniki, let’s take out the ones we’ve been saving.」

Surprisingly, Doganbo-san and Golan-san said they wanted to borrow Vajra and Fudou. They planned to display them on an altar and have a feast with the Dwarves.

「These are national treasures made from god metal. To Dwarves, it holds special meaning. We’ll return it tomorrow, so do you mind?」

「Not at all. Doganbo-san and Golan-san, you both helped, so it’s fine if it’s until tomorrow.

「Umu, don’t worry, they won’t get even a single scratch on them.」

Golan-san and Doganbo-san carefully wrapped Vajra and Fudou in cloth, then left triumphantly.

Dwarves love finding any reason to drink alcohol.

Well, I’ll take my time to think of ideas for other equipment.
