Jace checked his communication system and realized it had been switched by accident earlier when he had been shot. He switched it back as he looked over to the others from his team. "Hey, they have a central powersource and a human brain behind the main armored chestpiece." He then looked down at the artificial body of Emma for a moment before he walked back to retrieve his Spitfire.

Jace walked over as Ulin and Charlie were clearly panting with exhaustion amongst the cut up bodies of the clockwork Dullahans. He crouched down and began opening up the armored chest plates. Each time he opened one up, he looked for a second before moving onto the next one.

When he was done is when Charlie crouched down to see what he was doing. "Oh no…" She shook her head and then went to the next one. "Are all of them…?" She asked Jace.

Jace nodded after he finsehed looking at all of them. He stood up, he was done with them now that he confirmed they were all deceased. "These are all children. Hoodwink turned children under the age of fourteen into these things. Since our video is still recording and being transmitted I will go through it later and find their families."

"Just when I start to forget what kind of monster we are hunting." Charlien growled out before looking to the only other door in the room. "I suppose we are off to the next room?" She asked with a growl and clear tone of annoyance.

Jace shook his head, "not this time." Jace looked over to the dented wall panels. "Now we change the game. This may be a labyrinth with its twists and turns. But whenever I had to do one when I was younger I always cheated. So that is what we are going to do."

"How do you cheat in a labyrinth that someone controls?" Charlie asked as they followed Jace to the dented wall panels.

Jace went to one of the corners that was detached from the wall. He pulled and then grunted as there was the loud straining of metal. The corner further detached from the wall but did not come all the way off.

Jace stopped for a moment before adjusting his grip and pulling harder.

    CREAK!

The straining of metal was louder for a moment before the wall panel came flying off and flew across the room from the force Jace exerted on it. It crashed into something and fell to the ground. While Jace was already looking at what was behind the panel.

Piping for wires and another wall. Jace looked over it for a moment before he started walking to the side. Mumbling something under his breath as he calculated. Then he stopped at an unmarked panel.

Jace looked around for a moment before finding another warped panel nearby. He walked up to it and this time was able to easily pull the panel off the wall. Then after a moment he pulled another one off the wall. Then another one, but this time he was a lot more gentle with how he did it.

So after a moment it popped off the wall and fell to the ground softly. Behind the panel was a terminal with an interface. "This is how. I am going to hack the labyrinth. Quickly tell the others that I am going to piss off our host." Jace told them as he pulled out his hacking device and plugged it in.

"What do you think you are doing?" Daedalus over the speaker system asked.

Jace shrugged, "being creative and a tad bit bad. Why do you ask?" Jace asked innocently as he began hacking into the labyrinth. Before he knew this was an interchangeable labyrinth it did not make sense that everything was on seperate systems.

But now that he knew it was just a bunch of components all working under a greater system he also knew there had to be a combined system that was overseeing everything and controlling it. Now he just had to hack into this system and see what he could do.

"Ha… Subject Jace you are being very uncooperative. Here I was thinking we would be able to get along." Daedalus sounded disappointed. "Very well, time to get rid of you for good." A moment later the walls began lighting up with electricity going from the left to right.

"Back up you two," Jace told the other members of his team. He quickly tore through the security walls and digital security. He already had an idea of the kind of problems he would run into because of the airlocks. So less than ten seconds later when the wall of electricity arrived at the panel he was working out of.

There was a spark and an explosion as his hacking device exploded in his hand. It did not cause him much if not any damage. Did not even cause his armor''s shielding to shimmer. While the electricity that arced into his body did nothing except make him a bit more energized when he absorbed it.

Jace stood up and backed up from the electrified wall. "Well that was mean." Jace spoke aloud. "You could have let me finish!"

"No, I could not. Now get moving to the next room." Daedalus told them as the door, the one that they did not enter the room from, opened.

Jace then turned to his team members who were looking at him waiting. Jace switched his audio and made sure he was not being listened to by Daedalus. "Okay, we are good. I have programmed a blindspot. He will notice when we arrive at the next room so I hope you two are ready to have just about everything he has available to be thrown at us."

"You were able to hack into it? What about your hacking device?" Ulin asked in surprise looking at the charred remains that were once his hacking device.

Jace shrugged, "He destroyed it. But I was already inside, I just needed to transfer control of the facility to my interface. I can see both what is actually going on as well as what he thinks is going on. Now let''s get moving before he gets suspicious."

Jace led the way through the door. As they walked down the hall there was a slight shuddering as it felt like the entire hallway was moving. "Act like nothing happened. That is me, I am changing our destination. But if you react to the movement you might give away our secret early."

"What are we going to do when we get to the next room? I assume you have an actual game plan?" Charlie asked as she adjusted her movement so it did not look like she was swaying from the hallway''s movement.

Jace chuckled, "yeah I do. But I am going to have to apologize."

    "Oh no." Ulin mumbled.

Jace began explaining his plan as they moved through the white corridor. Eventually it stopped moving when it arrived at the destination that Jace had picked. He walked up to the door and then opened it using his stolen commands.

As Jace walked in, the lights in the room lit up. Unlike the shiny white rooms that they had gone through so far this room was a lot less clean. It looked like a damaged room, or that it was still under construction that had not yet been completed.

The room looked like a small hangar. In the center was a giant spaceship engine that was half built. Scattered around the room were parts and destroyed wall panels. As well as bundles of destroyed wires. Then there were the robotic limbs that seemed to have been discarded. He walked through the room moving towards the door opposite the room.

"Wait a minute… where did you three go?" Daedalus asked over the speaker system. He was clearly confused since the room they were supposed to have just entered was completely different. But he could not see them on the monitor. "Did you… you did! You cheated! You changed my Labyrinth!" Daedalus screamed into the speaker system. As far as Jace could tell he was transmitting system wide because he could not find them. Sёarch* The n??el Fire.nёt website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Jace grinned under his helmet as he opened the door and they walked into another room instead of a hallway. This room had a bunch of computers and digital interfaces. The room is a data center with enough digital storage space for half of the Vexical Empire''s information. It was the jackpot they were looking for since Hoodwink was supposedly not here. Unfortunately they could not take everything here. They would have to pick and choose what they took.

"Hahaha!" Daedalus laughed madly for a minute before stopping suddenly and going quiet. But Jace could still hear him over the radio breathing along with the grinding metal noise that he was now realizing was more mechanical gears moving together. "Fine then. Since you want to go against me, the overlord of the Labyrinth, it is only right that you are hunted by the appropriate type of monster. Time to send out my Minotaur!"
