Chapter 305 - 292: You Are Not Qualified to Make Me Take Action
CHAPTER 305: CHAPTER 292: YOU ARE NOT QUALIFIED TO MAKE ME TAKE ACTION
The news was reporting on the explosion in Yanjing North Alley, and Fatty Wang looked at Lin Zhifang’s worried face with delight. Who would have thought that a casual remark could lead to such a large-scale event? He had indeed underestimated those people. As the third generation leader of the Wang Family, he wouldn’t be so easily fooled. He downed the red wine in his glass with one gulp, squinting his eyes, his expression suddenly stern, a glint of coldness in his eyes; anyone who humiliated the Wang Family must die.
"Young Master, a call from the master," a servant suddenly approached and said respectfully.
"Take it in the study."
After the servant left, Fatty Wang picked up the phone.
"Your third uncle just passed on a message. Was the incident in North Alley your doing? The city committee has already taken action, determined to protect that person with the surname Xiao," a serious voice came from the other end of the line.
"Dad, who is he? No one in all of Huaxia has ever heard of the Xiao Family. Why does the city committee put such importance on this person?" Fatty Wang frowned and asked in a low voice.
"Your third uncle just wants to know if you were involved in this incident?" Wang Zhantian rubbed his brow on the other end of the phone. Zhan Ting had made himself very clear. If his son was involved, he would not let it pass.
"No!" Fatty Wang denied his involvement in the explosion without any hesitation; he wouldn’t be foolish enough to admit it. Besides, he actually did nothing. If those people couldn’t even handle such a small matter, then there was no point in talking about cooperation; it was a joke.
Xia Xue didn’t know where she was. As soon as Xiao Lin left the private room, someone rushed in. She only remembered Xiang Fei getting physical with the intruder, and she could only stand by. Suddenly, everything went black, and she knew nothing. When she blinked her eyes, she found something sticky covering her eyes, and both her hands and feet were tightly bound. She wanted to move, but suddenly felt the warmth from beside her; there was someone else next to her.
"Our people are already going up against the one named Xiao!" A man’s voice.
Xia Xue twisted her body, letting out muffled sounds.
"Shall we add a little excitement?" The man chuckled, ripping the tape off Xia Xue’s mouth while pressing the hidden button on the remote control in his hand.
"No!" Xia Xue screamed in panic, unable to see anything, her body trying hard to dash out.
"See, this chick isn’t bad looking. After we’re done, let’s take her back for some fun."
"Why wait until we take her back? Let her scream louder right now."
"What do you want to do?" Xia Xue resisted in fear, the approaching breath getting closer, tears uncontrollably streaming down her eyes. She didn’t know what happened to Xiao Lin, and the explosion’s sound just now seemed right beside her ears.
Hearing the screams, Xiao Linxin’s heart fluttered, and the veins on his arm gripping a fist protruded.
"General!" Xiao Lang’s forehead was bleeding, holding a timer device: "I apologize, I failed to protect Miss Xia in time, it’s my dereliction of duty."
Xiao Lin said nothing, just raised his hand to look at his injuries. Compared with Xia Xue alone, the safety of everyone in the whole building was more important. He understood Xiao Lang’s meaning; in weighing the importance of the situation, he was not wrong. As a person of the Dragon Soul, the distinction between benefit and harm must be very clear.
"What’s the situation inside now?" Xiao Lin asked in a low voice.
"Miss Xia is now locked in the third private room inside, with four people in there." Xiao Lang paused for a moment: "According to the data, they are all local bounty hunters, also assassins. Three are brothers, one has been taken care of by you, and these are only people temporarily gathered here. There is a masked person among them who requires special attention. He is the leader of this operation!"
"No identification?" Xiao Lin listened to Xiao Lang’s report and concluded that these people were likely wanted by different regions. Being able to be gathered this way must have involved significant financial backing, he chuckled coldly, his life really was valuable.
"No!" Xiao Lang opened the map of this floor in front of Xiao Lin, pointing to the map: "Choosing the middle position is to prevent any possibility of a surprise attack, and similarly, their exit also has only one. Each private room here is walled, making it difficult to break in from the side."
"Hmm!" Xiao Lin loosened his neck bones; since the other party left no retreat for himself, why let the opponent have a way out? Xiao Lin gave a contemptuous smile: "You go out first!"
"General!" Xiao Lang raised his voice slightly.
"Your identity cannot be exposed. You’ve done very well." Xiao Lin patted Xiao Lang’s shoulder, giving him an affirmative look, and calmly walked toward the central private room.
The sound of the handle turning was slow and confident, and it was precisely this calmness that made the people in the room stop their actions. They looked toward the person wearing glasses in the center.
The door was gently pushed open, and the hand holding the remote control trembled slightly. He believed the bomb installed outside had already been cleared, and the only lifeline left in their hands was this woman.
The first glance revealed Xia Xue lying piteously on the ground, her hands and feet tied up with packing tape, and tear stains still fresh on her cheeks, causing a twinge of pain in Xiao Lin’s heart as if frost creeped into his eyes.
"I am Xiao Lin!"
"The protagonist is here, no need for the supporting role anymore." As the words fell, a serrated blade aimed downward to plunge into Xia Xue’s abdomen.
With a ’ding,’ a silver needle shot right into the blade, breaking it on impact. The sound of bones shattering came from the hand holding the blade.
The man did not cry out, having lost all sensation, his eyes wide open, yet he saw nothing anymore.
Xiao Lin stood in place as if none of this had anything to do with him.
"You are not worthy to make me take action!" Xiao Lin spoke disdainfully to the people trying to approach, fixing his gaze on the man in the mask sitting on the side all along.
"A single move kills?" The man under the mask let out a cold laugh, standing up from the sofa. This man was half a head taller than Xiao Lin, his Zhongshan suit exuding a nostalgic flavor, while the man in glasses no longer had that aura in front of the masked man.
"Presumably, all the people below have been resolved by you, left shoulder injured, I’ll let you have three moves."
Words were filled with contempt, Xiao Lin smiled insignificantly and made a please gesture. The masked man stepped on the table blocking between the two of them, made of marble, and shattered it into pieces. The debris fell onto Xia Xue, who bit her teeth to stop herself from screaming out loud.
Xiao Lin glanced over; the man’s external martial arts base was quite solid, probably using only thirty percent of his strength with that kick. He took off his coat, rolled up his sleeves and cuffs.
