CHAPTER 32: CHAPTER 27: 9 DRAGONS TRUE QI
As soon as the girl spit out blood, Li Jingyi’s hand stopped instantly. Xia Xue frowned, sighed, and said, "She’s beyond saving!"
Jumping down from the fifth floor, if there hadn’t been internal bleeding in the chest, they might still have a chance to save her life with how things are now. If they could wait for the Yan University Affiliated Hospital’s ambulance, then rush her there for rescue, there would still be some hope. But now this girl is bleeding in the chest, and she has already lost a lot of blood before. Apart from the emergency kit which only contains drugs for external wound bandaging and hemostasis, they had no means to deal with chest bleeding.
Xiao Lin’s expression remained unchanged. He calmly said, "You all continue with what you’re doing, don’t worry about the issue of chest bleeding!" Xiao Lin had encountered such situations many times, some even more severe than this girl in front of him. However, the major difference between this girl and the patients he met before was that she had a death wish and no will to live, whereas the injured he had previously saved were the elite soldiers of Huaxia’s special forces. Each had physical qualities and willpower a hundred times stronger than this girl in front of him. As long as they weren’t dead on arrival, Xiao Lin believed that he had at least a 90% chance of saving them.
"But..." Xia Xue didn’t finish her sentence before Xiao Lin interrupted immediately, "There’s no ’but’, just do as I say, and focus on your tasks!" In terms of rescuing the wounded, Xiao Lin had always been very decisive.
Though Xia Xue wasn’t very familiar with Xiao Lin, after spending a day with him yesterday, she had a very good impression of him, thinking he had a rather easy-going personality. But now she realized it might not be as she thought. Seeing Xiao Lin’s composed face, staying unperturbed by the critical condition of the patient, and proceeding with the emergency treatments in an orderly manner, she felt reassured and continued to focus closely on her tasks.
Li Jingyi found that the treatment of external injuries was rather straightforward. Since Xiao Lin hadn’t given up, Li Jingyi had nothing else to say but to do her best.
Though Xiao Lin was talking to them, his hands were busy and his mind unwavering. The girl’s breathing grew weaker, and as chest bleeding increased, if it was not stopped in time, cardiac arrest could happen at any moment. Given the internal chest bleeding, it was impossible to conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation to save her.
Considering her overly weak physique, Xiao Lin did not directly stimulate the potential in her body using the Nine Dragon Acupuncture Technique as he had done with other patients before. Instead, he placed one palm gently on her Sea of Qi point, quietly using True Qi to slowly channel energy into her, hoping to bolster her body’s resistance.
"Silver needle!" Xiao Lin extended his right hand towards Xiao Ning, who had already opened the emergency kit and immediately handed a bag containing nine silver needles to Xiao Lin upon hearing his voice. Xiao Lin took a deep breath, picked up a silver needle, and pierced it into the girl’s Shanzhong point.
"Xiao Lin, isn’t that a vital point? Are you trying to murder her?" Xia Xue seemed to have some knowledge of the human body’s points. Seeing where Xiao Lin inserted the needle, she said a bit frantically.
"Shut up!" Xiao Lin snorted lightly, unmoved by Xia Xue’s reminder. Though the Shanzhong point is one of the body’s thirty-six major lethal points, for the Nine Dragon Acupuncture Technique powered by Nine Dragon True Qi, the Shanzhong point is the key point for saving lives in the chest.
Xiao Lin’s silver needle went in, and the girl’s bleeding from the mouth finally stopped. Using the silver needle as a conductor, streams of fine True Qi slowly entered her body, stimulating vascular contractions inside the chest. These contractions temporarily halted the massive internal bleeding in the chest, thus delaying the girl’s life from slipping away.
They could now just wait for the ambulance, swiftly rush her to the hospital for a blood transfusion, and the life could be saved.
At the same time, streams of fine True Qi gently flowed through the Shanzhong point towards the heart, trying to alleviate cardiac stress and prevent cardiac arrest. Otherwise, if cardiac arrest occurred along with massive chest bleeding, survival odds would be nearly nonexistent.
Xia Xue even forgot what she was doing, watching Xiao Lin insert the silver needle into the Shanzhong point, then seeing the girl’s bleeding situation immediately improve. She marveled at how Xiao Lin possessed such a skill. It seemed this guy had quite a few secrets.
Before long, Li Jingyi had almost cleaned up the external wounds on the legs. Although not severe, both her snow-white calves were fractured, which seemed quite serious.
"Dr. Xiao, the external leg injuries have been treated. What should I do next?" Li Jingyi, seeing Xiao Lin’s calm expression, felt reassured as if she had taken a calming pill, ready to follow Xiao Lin’s lead. If not for Xiao Lin’s presence, Li Jingyi wouldn’t have dared to come and treat this student.
"Ask them when the ambulance will arrive. If it doesn’t come soon, even if she doesn’t die from excessive blood loss, she’ll perish from the lack of a will to live!" Xiao Lin clearly aware of the girl’s condition. She had almost no survival instinct, and it was just his continuous infusion of Nine Dragon True Qi sustaining her. But evidently, unless she received a blood transfusion in time, Xiao Lin estimated she had at most ten more minutes before her life faded away.
"The Yan University Affiliated Hospital is only five minutes away from us. Although it’s rush hour now, this area is not densely packed with office buildings and isn’t a bustling commercial district, so it should be arriving soon!" Li Jingyi had a good understanding of the local situation, and since the Yan University Affiliated Hospital wasn’t far from Yan University, the school hospital here was neglected, leaving the school hospital’s doctors quite indifferent about their jobs.
Just as Li Jingyi finished speaking, the sound of an emergency vehicle reached their ears, and soon, the ambulance stopped beside the dormitory building.
Seeing the ambulance arrive, Xiao Lin sighed in relief. This meant, given the circumstances, that he had saved the girl’s life, and he immediately felt much lighter.
Five doctors and nurses dressed in white coats got out of the ambulance. The leading one frowned upon seeing the bloodstains around the girl, while recognizing Li Jingyi, asked, "Dr. Li, can this person still be saved?" While speaking, his gaze lingered on Xia Xue a bit longer after just a glance at the injured.
"Yes, we arrived several minutes ago, and her condition has already been stabilized. Now it’s up to you!" Li Jingyi, for the first time, proudly spoke to the doctors from the affiliated hospital.
The doctor appeared skeptical but didn’t stop, quickly approaching the girl. After a brief assessment which aligned with what Li Jingyi had said, he instructed the nurses behind him to promptly carry the patient, largely ignoring Xiao Lin nearby.
