Spoiled By My Brothers: Return of The Lost Heiress
Chapter 63: Is He Drunk?
CHAPTER 63: IS HE DRUNK?
Author’s POV
"Alistair, what are you doing? You’re not supposed to leave in the middle of our agreements," a man with burly hair complained, his shoulders slouched with exhaustion, dark circles under his eyes screaming sleepless nights and too much coffee.
Alistair didn’t even pause. He casually adjusted his coat, eyes on the exit, and threw the man a quick wink. "Why not? It’s been over a year since I left the country, and I deserve a little break, don’t you think?"
The man rolled his eyes with a groan. "Man... I know you’re dying to see your little sister Melissa, but could you at least not stress me out by running off the damn set and—"
"Na-uh," Alistair cut him off, lifting his hand and swaying his index finger from left to right like a smug magician.
The man blinked.
Alistair’s lips curled into a grin. "I’m not excited to see Melissa."
He took a step back, voice dropping to his deeper and flirtatious tone. "I’m going to see my real sister... Sera. Seraphina."
"Man... are you on some kind of drugs or what?" the manager snapped. He was losing the last thread of his patience. "You only have one sister, and her name is Melissa."
Alistair came to a halt. He didn’t turn around right away, but when he did, his glare was enough to make anyone shiver.
"Can you shut up, dude?" he hissed in a low tone. "An impostor is always an impostor. And the real? The real is always real."
The manager behind him froze.
His breath hitched, just a little. His feet, which had been stomping after Alistair in frustration, now stayed rooted in place.
Had Alistair finally lost it?
Two years of nonstop projects, zero breaks, and constant flashlights in his face had made him lose his mind!?
Everyone in the country and across the world knew that the Lancaster family had only one daughter, and that was Melissa Lancaster.
She was known as the golden child and the beloved heiress of the Lancaster family!
So, who the hell was Seraphina?
He stared at Alistair’s back, trying to digest what he had just heard.
Was he really drunk and lost his mind?
The manager picked up his pace and chased after him again, muttering a curse under his breath.
He was annoyed, half-concerned, and honestly starting to question why he was still putting up with this madman after all these years.
"I’m going to the auction," Alistair announced, waving his hand casually as he stepped ahead, his long coat swaying behind him. "Gotta buy something for my beloved one."
"Fuck!" the manager cursed, picking up speed to keep up. "What are you buying now? Didn’t you just send a diamond bracelet back home for your sister’s birthday?"
"Oh yeah..." Alistair said as a dreamy look flashed across his face. "By the way, did you send it securely to Seraphina?"
The manager almost tripped over his own feet.
"What,
Seraphina? Wasn’t it supposed to be for Melissa?"
Alistair stopped walking and turned slowly, eyes narrowing into a deadly glare. "Man... I knew you’d screw this up."
He sighed, rubbing his forehead in frustration. "Good thing I asked someone personally to deliver Sera’s gift. Otherwise..." He clenched his jaw. "What would she have thought? That I didn’t even welcome her home, and I have forgotten her completely?"
The manager just blinked. He was genuinely lost at loss of words. "Tell me one thing," he asked hesitantly. "Do you... have a girlfriend? Is her name Sera or something that I didn’t know about?"
Pak!
Alistair smacked the back of his manager’s head without mercy.
"You Jackass Bastard!" he growled. "How many times do I have to say it—Sera is my sister! My sister, you dimwit!"
The manager rubbed the back of his head, more confused than ever.
What sister?
There’s only one Lancaster daughter... right?
"Stop calling me jackass! My name is Jack!" the manager shouted, he was clearly annoyed as he rubbed the back of his head.
Alistair just grinned at his words. "Yeah, but you act just like one."
Jack sighed. There was no winning with this guy. He shook his head, letting go of all the questions running through his mind. If Alistair wanted to act crazy, he’d just go along with it.
What other choice did he have?
"Fine," he muttered. "Let’s just get this over with."
Asher’s POV
I had a few things left to sort out at the base. Some loose ends needed to be tied before I finally handed everything over.
Yeah, you heard that right... I was leaving the job.
After all these years in uniform, I’ve decided to walk away from it... and start a new life, which I never thought I could make as my career.
It was music.
It used to be just a hobby. I used to play around a little after getting tired of my job. My guitar and my voice were the only solace in the chaotic world.
The uniform was always my identity, and I’d taken it very seriously. But then Seraphina suggested something unexpected.
She told me I should do music full time... and she loved hearing my voice.
And for a second, I didn’t even know how to react. I didn’t even know she’d heard me sing.
But thinking about it now, I guess it wasn’t that strange. I’d gained a decent following online. It was over five million, last I checked. So yeah, maybe she’d just come across it on her own.
Still... She had heard my songs? That alone was heart-fluttering.
I’d already set up a studio two years ago. All I had to do now was get back in and keep going.
Just as I was thinking about the next steps, my phone buzzed. It was a notification from Instagram.
Melissa had posted something. And she’d tagged me.
Mom’s finally back! All I want now is you three!
She’d not only tagged me but Adrian and Alistair also.
I stared at the screen for a moment and...
