SSS Awakening: Rebirth of the Strongest Vampire God
Chapter 236: Unexpected drop
CHAPTER 236: UNEXPECTED DROP
With the buff still ticking down, the crimson lance gloriously appeared, heat shimmering in waves and warping the air around it. The ruined ground at his feet cracked with spiderweb fissures.
His shadow clone mirrored the motion beside him, mimicking the charge. Two Damons, two lances, one target.
Up on the chapel’s crumbling steeple, Aurex didn’t flinch. His bow gleamed silver, divine etchings along its limbs flaring brighter as he recognized the threat. He didn’t knock an arrow this time or try to dodge the attack. Instead, he activated another skill calmly.
Damon’s eye twitched. Wasn’t this guy underestimating him a bit too much? Fine. "Taste my lance." He threw the spear with everything he had.
At the same time, a radiant ring bloomed around him in a thirty-meter radius, forming a silver circle on the rooftop with glowing geometric lines.
[Sanctum of the Eye]
Damon’s eyes widened. He had seen this skill many times in his last life. This was a domain skill! This bastard had already mastered a domain skill?! His gaze was already fixed on the center of the glowing rune, where Aurex stood like a temple guardian. "Let’s break it, shall we?"
Aurex looked back at Damon confidently as if challenging his action. He seemed to strongly believe that this power packed attack couldn’t do shit to him.
Damon only chuckled at this.
Aurex raised a brow as, right in front of him, the lance curved at the last minute. He watched as the lance hit a point just outside his domain circle, at a support pillar of the steeple. Damon had never aimed the lance at him from the beginning.
His clone’s lance hit a second point on the opposite side.
Twin explosions erupted as the lances struck. Bloodfire detonated with a thunderous boom, one that shattered stone, glass, and equilibrium. The entire steeple trembled, then tilted, Aurex’s domain circle fracturing as its foundation crumbled underneath.
The marksman was forced to leap.
That was the moment Damon had been waiting for.
Damon immediately appeared near him. "I do wish to have a dick measuring contest with you but we can do that at a later time when I am not so swamped."
He launched himself like a predator unleashed, not from the front, not from the side, but from beneath. The moment Aurex was mid-air, between sanctums, between snares, between any prepared ground...
He reached up and grabbed Aurex by the ankle.
The look of surprise on Aurex’s face was fleeting. He twisted and fired a point-blank arrow, one that shimmered with sealing energy, but Damon didn’t dodge.
[Divine Aegis: Triggered.]
The sealing arrow struck Damon squarely in the chest. The system would have locked his mana channels for six seconds.
Would have.
Instead, Divine Aegis flared with golden light, nullifying the effect and releasing a pulse of radiant shockwave that rippled outward, staggering Aurex mid-flight.
Damon’s fist, wreathed in shadow and blood, slammed into the marksman’s side like a cannonball.
The impact sent Aurex crashing into the stone plaza below, dust and rubble spraying as everyone nearby scrambled away to get out of the zone.
Damon descended after him, his form streaking down like a blood-colored comet. "You might be a strategy god on the battlefield," he growled, "but right now, you’re in my domain."
He hit the ground with a blast of force, red mist curling around him, as Aurex struggled to one knee, coughing blood. "It’s too bad I do not have the time right now, and our fight had to end like this."
Aurex gritted his teeth, his silver bow cracking faintly with strain as he pushed himself upright. His domain was broken, his rhythm interrupted, and for the first time since he’d arrived on the battlefield, he looked truly mortal. Dust clung to his cloak, and hairline fractures danced across his breastplate where Damon’s punch had landed. Still, there was no fear in his eyes.
"No wonder Magicaa’s obsessed with you," Aurex said quietly, wiping the blood from his lips.
Without waiting, Damon lunged again, bringing him within inches of the marksman. Aurex responded not with another arrow but by slamming the end of his bow down and triggering a defensive rune etched into his boots.
A dome of argent light bloomed up, intercepting Damon’s strike.
But Damon didn’t pull back. He pressed forward, his clawed hand raking across the surface of the dome, drawing sparks and friction. The dome cracked under pressure. Aurex grimaced, clearly using stamina to reinforce the shield. It was a tug-of-war, defense against power.
And then Damon smiled.
From behind Aurex, the shadow clone reappeared, silent and deadly. With a single motion, it slashed through the back of the dome with another lance, disrupting its structural flow.
Crack.
Aurex’s eyes widened as Damon’s real fist punched through the fractured shield and connected with his stomach, lifting the Sacred Marksman off his feet. A follow-up kick sent him flying across the courtyard, bouncing once, twice, before embedding into the side of a broken wall.
That was one of the top players sent flying like a ragdoll!
Damon hurriedly absorbed the blood essence as the man’s dead body dropped to the ground with a thud, disappearing into dust afterwards. Surprisingly, another item also dropped from him.
Damon’s gaze locked onto the item, more specifically at the golden sheen on it. Not the cheap golden sheen that surrounded ordinary items, but an elegant golden sheen that only one type of item possessed.
A legendary golden sheen!
Damon’s heart raced as he couldn’t believe it. This guy already had a fucking legendary item on him???
[Ding! You have obtained: Sunpiercer’s Sigil – Legendary]

Damon gulped looking at the amazing stats and this was just the stats before the upgrade! Typically a true power of a legendary item would be revealed after the upgrade and if he did that, just how much more powerful this item could become!
