SSS Ranked Awakening: Starting With My Limitless Cosmic Shadow System
Chapter 46 - 0047: Welcome To The Celestial Dungeon!
CHAPTER 46: CHAPTER 0047: WELCOME TO THE CELESTIAL DUNGEON!
The golden rays of sunlight streamed through the horizon, casting their glow on the snow-filled scenery, making it look exceedingly beautiful.
A few ice sculptures of animals in the distance had already begun melting due to the warmth, and puddles of liquid formed in a few places.
A gust of wind blew, and a figure with silvery-blue hair stepped onto the clear water. Exhaling lightly, he smiled and felt a surge of strength coursing through him.
"Congratulations on your breakthrough, young master." Axel could sense the destabilized pressure of the Galaxy Core realm emanating from Modret, and he couldn’t help but feel happy for Modret.
Modret turned to glance at him and smiled warmly, feeling the surge of strength.
’It’s as though I have more control over my abilities now more than ever. And my mana reserves—they have more than tripled!’
’My physical strength is also drastically improved. It’s as though I am a different person entirely. This... is this truly the qualitative change brought about by such a breakthrough?’
Modret felt excited, and a sense of anticipation towards what strength he would wield at higher realms surfaced in his mind.
"It’s time. We can finally go and explore the Celestial Gate," Modret said lightly, wrapping his mother’s warm scarf around his neck and feeling some comfort.
’Watch over me, mother...’ After making the silent prayer in his heart, he began walking towards the shimmering Celestial Gate ahead.
Axel also straightened his black robes, swiftly following behind with calm, even steps. Both youths left deep footprints in the snow.
Within seconds of walking, they reached the Celestial Gate.
In front of the gate was a haggard-looking Xara. Seeing Axel and Modret, he finally let out a breath of relief and bowed politely toward Modret.
"Lord of Shadows."
Modret nodded at him, then hesitated for an instant before taking a step toward the shimmering gate.
Axel didn’t hesitate in the slightest. Seeing that Modret had entered into the Celestial Gate, he entered as well, leaving Xara behind to watch the surroundings.
A flash of blinding white light engulfed Modret, and the next moment he found himself in a world of ice.
Ice spikes jutted from the ground of the massive castle, reaching all the way up to the ceiling where a chandelier made of ice hung.
Already sensing a few auras in the surroundings, Modret paid them no heed, taking in the sight.
It was simply breathtaking, but aside from that, Modret felt a faint sensation, as though this was a castle someone lived in before.
[WELCOME TO THE CELESTIAL DESCENT.]
’How can this be a dungeon?’ he murmured internally, ignoring the line of white words flashing in front of him. It was vastly different from the dungeons back in the games he played while on Earth.
Back then, there were monsters in those dungeons which he had to clear, and aside from that, there were none with the design of a castle.
"Young master, look at this..." Axel reached toward the center table and ran his fingers through it as though he was studying something.
Modret turned in the direction of the table that Axel was gesturing toward him and stepped closer to examine it.
On the table were countless engravings. In some places were writings which Modret couldn’t recognize, and in others were what seemed like drawings...
Modret ran his fingers along the writing as well, as though trying to feel the intent behind them. However, he couldn’t come to any conclusion.
Unable to understand what the writing was about, Modret called out silently in his heart.
’Fairy? Do you understand this writing?’
Materializing in front of Modret, the Fairy flew gently toward the table, examining the writing on the ground. However, in the end, she couldn’t understand what they meant.
She shook her head before vanishing into specs of light.
Since he couldn’t understand what they meant, Modret turned his gaze toward what Xara had mentioned previously.
Instead of a throne in the castle, there was a coffin in its place. And inside the coffin were wisps of white light gathering and forming a figure—the creature from before.
It was already half-formed, and Modret could see that as the energy condensed, veins underneath the transparent figure wriggled as though trying to absorb more of the energy.
Just then, a change occurred.
Swish!
Multiple figures darted from the corner, and a few even landed from high up in the ceiling, all of them rushing toward Axel and Modret at blinding speed.
A faint smile tugged at Modret’s lips, ’I already expected you all...’
Lightning and null fire crackled around Modret as he snapped his gaze in the direction of the creatures.
Bang!
His attack thundered outwards, landing on the first Celestial that came his way.
Before the Celestial could react, it screamed in pain, feeling all sorts of horrifying illusions surfacing in its mind.
’Just as I guessed, the creatures are within endurable range,’ Modret thought internally, feeling confident in his newfound strength.
A Celestial falling from the ceiling reached him, one of the spikes jutting from its back springing forward.
It let out a whooshing sound, shooting toward Modret at a fast speed. However, Modret just sidestepped, dodging to the side, and watched as the creature crashed on the ground next to him.
Without hesitation, his palm slapped forward, and streaks of lightning arced forward, tracing lines on the Celestial and causing it to combust outwards, fragmenting.
Noticing that the Celestial was gradually regenerating, Modret frowned and thrust his hand forward.
A mass of pitch-black flames surfaced on his hand, engulfing the creature as it let out a hissing screech before burning to ashes.
Moving his gaze once more, he punched forward toward another Celestial.
’What?’ His breath caught in his throat as his attack was caught by the Celestial.
Its hand cracked apart slightly, however, the Celestial maintained its grip on Modret’s hand, as though unwilling to let go. At the same time, green veins had already begun wriggling around its arm, threatening to regenerate.
’Damn, how irritating.’ Modret cursed internally, and lightning danced on his skin before swiftly moving toward the Celestial.
Still tightening its grip on Modret’s hand, it was immediately incinerated by the lightning, black lines surfacing on its blue skin.
Just then, a freezing chill crept up Modret, and he glanced down, realizing that his legs had been frozen.
"How interesting... they can possess elemental affinities too?"
Immediately after he had those thoughts, a faint blurry image appeared in his mind, causing him to stagger forward.
’An illusion ability?’ Scanning the crowd of Celestials, he spotted three prominent ones with thicker auras than the others... his vision darkened once more...
