Chapter 138: A Game is meant to be played.

The central region resembled a classy estate which told Su Ping that this must be where the elite of the city lived, when they went further, Their group soon arrived at the Montgomery Estate.

As the Viscount household that was stated in Rose City, The Montgomery Estate looked even more profound than most of the buildings and mansions he’d seen along the way. The gate was opened for them without delay and they were allowed in, soon coming to a stop Infront of the main mansion.

" Young miss Esmeralda, has returned home." Su Ping heard the Knight Captain declare from outside, the carriage door was then opened the next second.

Esmeralda stood up, she had been waiting for this moment for a very long time yet now that it was finally before her, she wasn’t as excited as she once had been.

" Aren’t you going to escort me out." Esmeralda turned towards Su Ping.

" Young miss, this should be your moment, i know how precious it was for you to reunite with your household so I won’t disrupt such an event." Su Ping politely rejected her Without much effort.

Esmeralda’s lips pressed into a thin line, her gaze lingered on the man in the straw hat, then the other 3 within the carriage but she remained silent, soon stepping out on her own.

Su Ping, Melinda and the kids heard the sound of an ovation from outside but non of them made any moves to get out just yet. Su Ping and Melinda were already knowledgeable to some degree on noble etiquette, so long as one’s name wasn’t called, it was considered rude to intrude.

They 4 of them waited for awhile for the ovation to die down before they heard the Knight Captains voice once more.

" And now, please allow me to introduce our guests."

" Please, you may come out now, The Viscount and Viscountess are waiting to meet you." The Knight Captain walked Infront of the Carriage door and urged them to step out of the carriage.

When she heard the titles of those that were supposedly outside, Melinda because a bit nervous but when she felt Su Pings hand holding her’s, she let out a breath to calm her nerves before they stepped out of the carriage.

The first thing Su Ping noticed were the 5 blonde haired figures standing at the center of the crowd of maids, knights and servants.

One was a man, Edward Montgomery, who looked around the age of 45, his eyes were a bright emerald green, he had a slightly masculine figure though he looked a bit chubby in most parts.

The woman standing next to him who Su Ping assumed was the Viscountess, Isabella Montgomery, had blonde hair as well but, her eyes were a sapphire blue in colour but just like her daughter, she was as beautiful as a fair maiden and even had the figure to compliment her beauty. Then there was a blonde young man with dashing feature’s, Henry Montgomery.

The other had a more softer and feminine appearance, highlighting his own level of handsomeness, Charles Montgomery.

Both young men looked to be of ages 20 and 21 respectively, And the last was a 25 year old young woman, Victoria Montgomery, who looked equally as beautiful as the countess, if not even more so, with slightly less endowments.

" It’s an honor to meet our Lord the Viscount." Su Ping and Melinda tactfully bowed their heads.

’ Which one of them is the player in charge of this viscounty.’ Su Pings gaze lingered on Viscount and Viscountess wondering which was the hidden player pulling the strings around here.

He had checked the King’s Game map after their arrival in Rose City. They weren’t in Melinda’s village anymore and when he checked the map, he realized that they had long since left the territory of the player who was in charge of the barony the village resided in.

Since rose city was located at the center of the viscounty, Su Ping concluded that it must be under the influence of a hidden player.

After reaching Lvl 2, the range of the map had increased to 10,000 square kilometers. It was a huge upgrade and thanks to this, he could finally see the countless factions surrounding him.

The Montgomery viscounty in particular emerged on the map as a lone entity, meaning the entire viscounty served as the territory of a single player.

At the time, Su Ping had wondered why the players didn’t start a war to amass more territory but it was then that he realized that it wasn’t that the players didn’t want to but because they might just be too afraid to do so, afraid of the consequences. The King’s Game might be a game but the new areas they found themselves in, weren’t.

These were civilizations that had stood tall for countless years, with rules and regulations, laws of their own, moreover, a player couldn’t tell a normal person from another player, the only way to decipher whether one was a player or not, without them knowing, was to kill them.

Because of that, Su Ping concluded that Players who had been reincarnated as nobles in kingdoms or high ranking members of federations, were forced to remain in their territory’s, since the safe period termination event was over, in a sense, they could just live out the rest of their lives without having to do anything.

’ It might be peaceful now but, Who knows what that cruel system is planning.’

’ I’m sure whosoever is behind this entire game won’t be pleased with stagnant players.’

’ In the end, a game is meant to be played, if not, then there’s no reason to participate.’ Su Ping sighed inwardly.

" Don’t you know it’s more proper to kneel when meeting a noble..." The dashing blonde man frowned at Su Ping’s group, snapping Su Ping out of his thoughts.

They had already been informed that their sister had been helped by some commoners yet to think the commoners wouldn’t know their place and would only bow to the likes of them, instead of kneeling as well.

" I beg your pardon? Isn’t it naturally for us to bow as guest’s. Please do forgive me, I’m not that knowledgeable in noble etiquette yet, I haven’t read a book where it says a guest must kneel before their caterers." Su Pings words made Henry’s face crease.

" Hahaha, true young man, it’s unheard of for a guest to kneel before their caterers." Viscount Edward laughed at the short altercation between the two of them.

" I’m impressed that this is the young man who saved my daughter." The Viscount approached Su Ping with a beaming expression.

’ These people must be plotting something... Rugard mentioned several times how easily displeased nobles are with those of no noble standing yet he doesn’t seem upset even when I rebuked his son.’

’ Could he be the hidden player.’ Su Ping’s gaze squinted beneath his dark veil.

" Hahaha, my lord, you jest, I merely aided in the endeavor. The real person who helped your daughter was non other than my wife." Su Ping chuckled.

" Oh, I see, well then my dear, on behalf of the Montgomery household, allow this humble father to thank you for your help."

" You flatter me with your praise my Lord." Melinda replied with a polite and amicable tone.

" Hahaha, not only is the husband knowledgeable but the wife is also courteous." Edward seemed even more pleased with Melinda’s reply. " Please do join us. We’re preparing a welcome home gala for my daughter and I would very much like for you to attend."

" I’m sorry my Lord but I’m afraid my presence may dampen the festivities." Su Ping said before taking off his straw heart to reveal his darkness shrouded head.

The Sight startled some of the vassals of the noble household, A mocking light flashed through Henry’s gaze while Victoria who stood beside her sister had her gaze shift from Su Ping to Esmeralda in that brief moment.

" I happen to possess an unsightly injury which I wouldn’t want to reveal to other’s. There’s no reason to reward us this much, we’re more than content to be admitted into your grace." Su Ping said before putting the straw hat back on.

’ Looks like non of them saw through it.’ Su Ping sighed inwardly with relief. His senses had been raised to the maximum just now, Incase someone was able to peak through his dark Vail, but it seemed non of them were able to or more like they hadn’t.

" Nonsense, young man, I myself am not a base man. I’m more than willing to allow you join us with your head attire, I refuse to allow the ones who helped my daughter quell her illness leave without being properly repayed." The Viscount patted Su Ping on his shoulders with a determined look on his face.

" Well if lord Viscount insists then who am I to say no." Su Ping said after a moment of silence.
