CHAPTER 160: CHAPTER 160 COMING WEEK

"A wonderful addition, though not as good as mine" Reina spoke with a smile as she and Roman walked towards Mira.

"Not as good as yours, your horned wolf?" Mira asked.

"No, my newest summon" Reina replied.

"You don’t have a new summon, you can’t summon on your own, you know the rules. Besides, my team is now complete, two attackers, the monkey for defense and occasional offense, and a support dove. I have a balanced team," Mira replied.

"It’s truly balanced, unlike Reina, who has a super attacking team," Roman replied, and Reina turned towards him.

"My summons don’t need to defend me, I can defend myself, and in front of my attack, defenses would crumble" Reina replied with a smirk.

"I can’t wait to face you" Mira replied as she walked away.

Her summons were almost done eating, she sent them back as soon as she was done while Roman and Reina walked away.

"If we come across ourselves in the tournament, should I let you win?" Reina asked with a smile as both of them walked outside the main building.

"I don’t think I’ll come across you in the tournament, since the Queen is organizing it to make me stop attending the academy. I’m going to be fighting Aurelia and Ava, which I’m not all that confident I can win," Roman replied.

"So if you lose, you’ll have to stop the academy and remain in the Royal palace. Any other male would take that, but not you. That’s something I love about you," Reina said as she looked away.

"So if maybe we did meet in the tournament and I tell you to put up a good fight and lose, you’ll do that?" Roman asked.

"Without hesitation, you staying in the academy is the best thing, and you love magic, I can tell that much, so it’s win-win...but you wouldn’t" Reina replied.

"I wouldn’t what?"

"You won’t tell me to lose, you’ll rather fight and win by yourself, but if I go all out, you won’t be able to win me" Reina replied.

"Ohh...one month in the academy and you’re this good, but you do know you haven’t seen me fight," Roman said.

"That’s true, but I know you have just the fire element. There are lots of spells to learn, as I’ve seen tons of them in the library, but I still think I can win, not because you’re bad, but I’m good," Reina said with a smile.

"I would have said you’re arrogant if it were someone else, but I’ve seen you fight, you really are good. In that case, I hope we don’t meet, I hope you face Ava." Roman laughed as they walked towards the dining hall.

"She’s going to win, it’s not fair that her Mana level is that good. Also, did you see the ice spell she mastered recently? It covered the entire training ground, and she could still cast more spells," Reina spoke.

"I saw...I was also a little surprised, and I think the best opponent for her would be Aurelia, with the flame enchantment on her armor, Ava wouldn’t be able to get through it"

Reina and Roman stepped into the dining hall, and some students were seated. They walked towards the counter.

"I think Aurelia and Ava are the best match-up," Roman said, grabbing a tray.

"Ava’s ice spells are powerful, but Aurelia’s flame enchantments might just be enough to hold her off."

"Yeah, but Ava’s got raw Mana. Even if her ice melts, she can cast again and again, also her stamina is crazy," Reina replied, "She’s like a walking mana core."

Roman chuckled. "True, but you’ve watched Aurelia, she fights smart. Plus, that sword of hers isn’t just for show."

Reina nodded as they walked to a table near the window. "So if you do make it to the final and face Aurelia, do you have a plan?"

Roman sat down, placing his tray on the table. "Not really, I’ve seen the way she fights and I don’t think my flames would be able to do much"

None of the girls had seen him fight, and he trains in secret, so Reina has no idea of his capability. Roman wasn’t super strong in that sense, but he definitely had a plan to beat Aurelia.

The day was getting darker, and when they were done eating, the crystals in the dining hall were giving off light as it was dark outside.

For Roman, this coming week would decide his fate and it occupied his thoughts.

If he loses the tournament, he wouldn’t necessarily give up on his plans, but he would definitely be set back since he’ll focus on mating instead of training, and he wouldn’t be able to train or learn any spells in the palace apart from flame spells.

Roman and Reina walked out of the dining hall as they finished eating, the night air wrapped around them like a cool blanket with the moon sitting beautifully in the sky.

"I’m going to turn in" Reina yawned and stretched her arms behind her head. "That was a long day"

Roman gave a small nod. "And the week’s only going to get harder."

They walked towards the dorms. Most students were already inside, but then they noticed someone in the training ground, and it was hard not to notice with her bright hair color.

They moved closer and saw Ava standing alone in the middle of the arena. Her hair fluttering in the wind, frost spread across the grass at her feet and Roman couldn’t help but smile.

Ava was just beautiful. If this were a normal world setting, he would go for Ava as his only girlfriend if he had the chance, though he would have competition, but he was certain he could win.

Ava lifted her hand and cast a spell. A blast of cold wind shot forward, freezing one of the dummies completely.

Then, sharp ice spears burst from the ground, piercing into the dummy. After some seconds, the ice was gone, and the dummy returned to its original condition.

"She’s seriously training at this time, I’m going to sleep" Reina muttered to Roman as she walked away.

Roman walked closer till Ava noticed him but didn’t stop. She gave him a quick glance and then went right back to training.
