CHAPTER 162: CHAPTER 162 TIME
’It’s just a dream’ Roman muttered again as he stood up from his bed.
For some weeks now, Ava had joined him whenever he went for runs in the morning, but she doesn’t run for long though as she usually begins training while Roman continues running around the training ground.
Roman stretched his body again before exiting his room. He went downstairs and soon began to run behind Ava, who had already started.
After a while, she stopped as the day was starting to get brighter. She focused on meditation while Roman continued running, and soon the sky was bright.
More students were already waking up, and as usual, Roman and Ava were already there. No one knew how strong Roman was, but they all knew he was working hard.
Roman heard muttering sounds and soon turned to see the cause of the sounds, walking towards their dorm was a female dressed in Noble attire.
She wore a soft silk dress that shone when she moved. The dress had gold lines on the edges and a pretty belt around her waist.
A light cloak hung from her shoulders, held by a silver pin. She wore soft shoes and a pearl necklace around her neck.
Roman had no idea who she was but she was definitely important as three Royal Guards escorted her, and behind the Royal Guards were Clara and Alder following behind.
It was time for the tournament.
The students in the training ground were gestured by Alder to come towards the dorm, and Clara went upstairs to call the rest of the students who were participating in the tournament.
Soon all ten of them were in front of the woman, and of course her eyes were fixed on Roman. She was expressionless, so he couldn’t tell what she was thinking, but then she spoke.
"The carriages are here to take you to the Royal palace, we’ll leave in 5 minutes, don’t take clothes with you, only bring important things" She spoke as she began walking away.
Only Clara and Alder stayed behind watching as she disappeared out of sight.
"She could have just sent one of the guards," Roman muttered, and Aurelia laughed.
"You don’t know who she is right?" Ava asked Roman and he shook his head.
"I thought you stayed in the palace before coming here, how could you not know?" Mira spoke.
"She’s my aunt, my mother’s youngest sister; she likes to show off a lot," Aurelia answered.
"Ohh, from the clothes I knew she was someone important, I didn’t know she was that important, the Queen’s sister...wait, she’s is youngest, how many aunts do you have?" Roman asked Aurelia.
"You are supposed to be getting ready to leave, not standing here talking about the Royal family," Clara said, and they quickly began walking away.
The other five girls were silent, not that they were shy, but they hadn’t talked to Roman or the other girls before.
"Yesterday I was fine, but now I’m getting nervous" Reina muttered as they walked up the stairs.
"I’m sure there’s nothing to worry about, after all, it’s just the Royal family and the top-ranking noble families that would be present," Mira replied with a smirk as she continued up the stairs.
Roman and Ava arrived at their room. They hadn’t even taken their baths yet, but they had to leave. Roman didn’t have anything he wanted to take with him.
Ava also didn’t need anything as she just stood beside her bed and looked around, then she looked to see Roman, who was looking at her.
"Are you also nervous?" Roman asked.
"I’m not, it’s just that my family would be there, and my grandmother...I can’t afford to make any mistakes" Ava replied.
"You’re afraid of your grandmother, why?"
"You don’t know her, she’s the first S-rank mage my family had, my family had been nobles for a long time, but she alone raised the status of the family, apart from the Aldenworth and Helmsworth, no noble family comes close to my family," Ava replied.
"Those two are Evelyn and Victoria’s families, right? But you’ve trained all this while, I don’t think..."
"Miss Victoria and Miss Evelyn, put respect on those names" Ava cut Roman off immediately.
"Right...but what I’m saying is you have nothing to be afraid of, I’m sure you’ll do well, you would not win, but you’ll do well," Roman spoke with a smirk as he stood up, walking towards the door.
"Are you implying that you’ll win, maybe in your dreams" Ava chuckled as she walked behind him.
As both of them walked out, Reina and Aurelia were already close to the stairs while the rest of the girls were downstairs waiting.
The group got together and was led by Miss Clara. This was going to be the first time Roman was going outside in 36 days, though he had seen the city from his hawk eyes.
The group walked outside and finally arrived at where the carriages were. There were two large carriages and a smaller one.
The students were split into five groups by the Royal guards, and Roman was placed into a carriage with four of the girls he hadn’t even talked to, while Ava, Reina, Mira, Aurelia, and one other girl were in the second carriage.
The inside of the carriage was surprisingly comfortable.
It had two long cushioned seats facing each other, covered in soft red fabric giving the seats a fancy look.
The walls of the carriage were polished wood with small carvings of symbols, and the windows had tiny curtains tied to the sides.
Roman sat alone on one side of the carriage, while the other side had four of the girls seated closely together, facing him.
There was enough space for everyone to sit without feeling too cramped, though the air inside was a little quiet and awkward as no one had said anything.
The floor was carpeted in dark blue, and a small lantern with a crystal inside hung from the ceiling.
Soon the carriage began to move.
