CHAPTER 166: CHAPTER 166 AVA & LYDIA

Inside the barrier it was just Ava and Lydia left, both of them still just feels away from themselves.

Roman could see it in Lydia’s face, she wasn’t happy and he couldn’t blame her, Ava was strong, and stronger than her, she was the favorite to win this match and it would be by a landslide.

If Ava decides to go all out at the beginning of the match then the battle was over, but Roman was sure she wouldn’t, Ava was going to win in the best way possible.

"Alright, get ready" the announcer spoke and the girls created space between themselves.

"Who do you think would win?" Reina asked Roman.

"Is that a trick question, I didn’t pay too much attention to Lydia, but she can’t possibly beat Ava, the only person among these 5 girls is the one with blood magic" Roman replied.

"Begin" The announcer spoke and without wasting a moment the battle began.

Lydia moved first. Wind gathered around her fingers as she stretched her hands towards Ava. Wind gathering front of her hand.

[Wind Blade]

The slash tore across the arena like an invisible sword. The air itself seemed to hiss as it cut forward.

Ava didn’t even flinch. Her eyes narrowed Mana already infused, and she stretched one of her hands.

[Fireball]

The fire roared to life in front of her hand and shot out, colliding with the Wind Blade midair. The clash burst into smoke and dust sprayed across the stage as her spell was destroyed.

But Lydia didn’t hesitate. She leapt to the side, letting the wind carry her light body, as she began closing the distance between them.

Both of her arms rose, gathering a spiraling gale and she cast another spell.

[Wind Burst]

The blast pushed forward like a tiny storm. Ava raised her arm stretching it forward as she created an ice wall, her hair and clothes snapping in the violent wind as it rushed by.

By the time the gust died down, Lydia was already there, closing the distance and moving past Ava’s ice wall.

Her steps were carried by the wind, each one faster than the last. She spun gracefully and was just two step away Ava and she slammed her arm down.

[Wind Strike]

Ava immediately noticed and instead of jumping backwards to avoid the strike, ice poured out from he hands pushing her backwards just in time to avoid Lydia’s attack.

Lydia’s attack struck the ground with a crack, splitting stone and sending shards flying into the air.

If that had hit Ava it would definitely be game over if she didn’t block, but she avoid it and now was the first time she attacked.

[Ice Shards]

Dozens of frozen blades appeared at her side, sharp, glittering and deadly. They launched forward in a storm of frost and Ava continued creating more.

Lydia spun her hands, air swirling fast to shield her, and a barrier was created out of wind in front of her.

[Wind Barrier]

The shards shattered against the wall of air, exploding into tiny pieces that scattered frost across the ground. The cold mist clung to Lydia’s skin. She grinned despite it, sweat shining on her forehead.

"You’ll need more than that," She spoke as she took a step back.

But Ava didn’t reply. She was dead serious, her eyes locked on Lydia and then she unleashed an actual attack.

She raised her hands forward and in her hands, flame and frost spun together at the same time creating an orb, unstable and violent, clashing as if they weren’t meant to exist side by side.

The entire arena gasp including Ava’s mother, Roman was as surprised as everyone, Ava hadn’t used this before and he was sure no one had any idea when she trained.

Among everyone only two people weren’t surprised by this.

Victoria immediately turned towards Evelyn and she could see Evelyn smiling but she was still facing forward, Evelyn knew Victoria was staring at her and she knew why.

Lydia stood there frozen, she didn’t know what to do, she saw her spell and her brain immediately went into defensive mode.

[Flame Frost Orb]

The sphere pulsed in her hand, glowing flame and Frost, surrounded by Ava’s Mana which she used to condense both of her element into one. She hurled it forward with one smooth motion.

And the best thing about it was Ava could control when the spell would unleash like a time bomb with the timer in her hands.

Lydia’s eyes widened. She slammed her hands outward, pulling on every bit of wind she had and cast two spell at once.

[Wind Barrier]

[Hurricane Wall]

The arena filled with a roar as winds circled her in a raging storm, she placed herself inside the wind in hopes of stopping Ava’s attack.

The orb slammed against it, pushing and pressing, sparks of frost and fire spraying everywhere as the orb itself was unstable.

The ground rumbled as Lydia held back the spell.

For a moment, just a moment, it looked like Lydia was holding it back. Her teeth clenched, arms trembling as she poured in everything she had.

But Ava finally released the spell.

The explosion was thunderous. Fire and frost erupted across the stage breaking through both of Lydia’s defense.

Lydia’s scream was drowned out by the roar of the crowd as she was flung across the arena, rolling to the ground before skidding to a stop.

The rest of the explosion was held back by the barrier.

The dust cleared with Ava standing tall, her breathing calm and now everyone could see her hands, her palm was burnt even with the barrier around her body.

The spell was so powerful her hands were burning as she cast it.

Lydia struggled back onto one knee, her hair messy, her arms trembling as she tried to stand up.

The announcer wanted to stop the match but Ava was already dashing forward, she raised a hand.

[Flame Whip]

A blazing whip lashed out, cracking through the air before wrapping tight around Lydia’s arm. The heat made her flinch but the barrier was still protecting her from the burns.

Ava pulled forward, and Lydia was dragged to the ground, her face planted into the sand.

[Ice Bind]

Frost spread across the floor, climbing Lydia’s legs and hands locking her in place.

Her chest rose and fell quickly, every breath strained. She looked up at Ava, exhausted as Ava stood in front of her.

Ava didn’t say a word. She stood above her with a smile on her face.

The fight was decided.
