CHAPTER 167: CHAPTER 167 NEXT MATCH
Applause immediately filled the arena as all the nobles clapped their hands, the Firefrost family stood up with pride, clapping louder than anyone, as Ava eventually bowed down and sat on the ground.
One part of the barrier was brought down, and the barrier around their body faded away. Lydia was still covered in ice, and Ava used her bloodied palm to touch the ice, and it melted away, freeing her.
Healers immediately rushed to Ava to check her hands, with the barrier their body wasn’t supposed to be injured like this but Ava’s spell was too powerful to create that her hands suffered the most.
Both of them were escorted out of the barrier so the next battle would begin.
"I had no idea she could do something like that" Reina muttered.
"Neither do I. How did she even learn something like that? If it was Aurelia, then I might believe she learned it in her own because of the Royal family spell books, or maybe it’s a Firefrost spell," Roman spoke.
"The Royal family spell books?" Reina asked.
"When I was at the palace the first time, I went into the library and there were spell books there covered by a barrier, so I couldn’t look at them," Roman replied.
"Ohh, I wonder how important they must be, I’m sure this spell is also important to the Firefrost family Ava is from, but I haven’t seen her training or testing the spell at all, does that mean she had mastered it before coming to the academy?"
"That’s what I also think, but do you think she would have learned a spell this powerful and not show it even once" Roman replied.
"Seeing how the spell also damaged her hands, maybe that’s the reason she never uses it" Reina spoke.
The next match was already starting as the two students were already inside the barrier.
Joanna Gaines versus Elena Nightshade.
Elena was a blood mage, and Joanna was an arcane mage, and both of them were good friends even before attending the academy.
Roman had watched Elena fight, and he knew she was good. He didn’t pay much attention to Joanna, unlike Elena, but he knew this would be a good fight.
Both girls took stances and were some distance away from each other, and then the match started. Elena dashed forward first, but Roman was interrupted as a hand touched his shoulders.
Roman turned around to see a Royal guard behind him, and he stood up to hear what the guard had to say.
"The princess is asking for you. I’m here to escort you to her," the guard said.
Roman looked to his side and Aurelia was still there, so it was Faylen. He immediately looked over to the Queen’s side, and Faylen wasn’t there at her seat.
Roman stood up following the guard as both of them walked away from the arena ground, but they didn’t walk back to the main building; instead, they went somewhere else.
They walked for a while till they arrived at another large building far behind the main building, and the palace still stretched further.
Roman could see the entirety of the palace with his hawk if he wanted, but he was going to do that another time.
The guard knocked on the door and instructed Roman to go in while she stood in front of the door.
Roman pushed the door open and stepped inside.
The room was big, with high windows letting in light. At both ends of the room were large beds, one to the left and one to the right.
A table sat between them, and a few chairs were pushed to the side. The floor was polished stone, and the air smelled faintly of herbs and lavender.
It was just as fancy as the main building, and it was also neat and quiet, almost too quiet.
There were two doors that led to other rooms, but they were currently closed, and there was no one inside the large room.
Since the room Roman was currently in contained a bed, he couldn’t call it a living room but it was a little too big to be a bedroom.
"Princess, are you there?" Roman asked as he walked forward but he received no answer.
He walked towards the first door and pushed it open, it was a bathroom...he closed the door and walked towards the second door also pushing it open.
Just like the last one the room was also a bathroom, and it was empty.
’Where the hell is she, is there a hidden room somewhere in here, why would she even send for me in the middle of the tournament, I would have all day after the battles, couldn’t she wait’
Roman walked towards one of the beds and lay down. Then the door opened, and he turned towards the door.
Faylen walked into the room, her hands holding her dress up so it wouldn’t touch the ground.
’So she wasn’t even in the room’
"Princess, I hope you can forgive me for the last time," Roman spoke as he stood up and bowed his head.
"Stop deceiving me, you don’t actually mean that" Faylen replied.
"Why would I when you were moaning so loud...so why did you invite me here? I’m sure it’s not to have sex, because I’m not in the mood for that," Roman spoke.
"Why would you think that is the reason I asked for you, do you think that’s all I think about?" Faylen spoke.
"I’m sorry to annoy you, so where am I here?" Roman asked.
"I’m sure you want to win this tournament. I heard you train really hard in the academy. I might have something that would benefit you in that aspect," Faylen spoke as she brought out a bracelet.
"This bracelet releases Mana into the user, and it only activates when Mana is infused inside, during the battle you can simply infuse a little bit of Mana and then it comes to life, it also wouldn’t be detected by anyone since it doesn’t work at once, with this you can overwhelm anyone with spell casting"
