CHAPTER 45: CHAPTER 45: STILL SO ARROGANT

The floors above the fifth floor of Yida Mall are under renovation and haven’t opened yet, so the elevator stops operating at the fifth floor.

Lin Fan and others are waiting on the seventh floor for Madam Su.

With the support of several Su Family members, Madam Su took the elevator to the fifth floor, then had to climb two flights of stairs. The mall’s stairs were long and steep, which really gave Madam Su’s old bones a hard time.

Some younger Su Family members started cursing.

"Damn it! Su Jinjin must have done this on purpose to make things difficult for Grandma!"

"Take me to see them," the old lady said after calming herself.

They stood in front of a restaurant still under renovation and saw the Lin Fan and Lin Shanshan siblings, but Su Jinjin was nowhere to be seen.

She was probably hiding inside the restaurant.

"Where is Jinjin?"

Madam Su stared sharply at Lin Fan, asking coldly.

Lin Fan smiled and said, "Jinjin is inside. She doesn’t want to see you, so she asked me to speak on her behalf."

Madam Su frowned, "She wanted me to personally come and invite her back, and now that I’m here, she won’t see me?"

The younger Su Family members were upset. Wasn’t this just playing with them? It wasn’t easy for Grandma to come all this way!

Lin Fan said, "You should know better than anyone why she doesn’t want to see you. Who threatened her to marry someone she didn’t love, nearly destroying her life’s happiness for the sake of family interests? And after she mustered up the courage to call off the wedding, who threatened to kick her out of the family? If someone treated you like that, would you be happy to see them?"

Madam Su said coldly, "So what does she want?"

Lin Fan replied, "It’s simple—apologize. Apologize to her for the wrongs you’ve done."

Madam Su is actually expected to apologize to Su Jinjin!

Lin Fan smiled, "It was my idea, so what?"

The younger Su Family members could not hold back.

"Lin Fan, you have some nerve. Who do you think you are? You’re just a damn nobody!"

"You’re just Su Jinjin’s ex-boyfriend. What’s the point of this? Do you think Su Jinjin would still choose you?"

"Mind your own business! Su Jinjin has caught Mr. Lin’s eye. It’s no longer your turn!"

"Exactly. If Su Jinjin doesn’t choose Mr. Lin, would she choose a poor boy like you? Mr. Lin is a super tycoon. How can there be such a huge difference when both of you are named Lin!"

The Su Family members made scathing remarks at Lin Fan and laughed wantonly.

Lin Shanshan couldn’t stand hearing others speak of her brother like that because her brother wasn’t poor!

But her brother had instructed her not to mind it, so she stayed aside with her phone.

Lin Fan remained indifferent to the Su Family’s words and wasn’t bothered.

Their words couldn’t hurt him, but if they knew Mr. Lin was actually Lin Fan, it would be a critical blow.

Madam Su snorted, "I haven’t settled with you for abducting Jinjin last night—do you really plan to oppose me? Think it over first: no matter how much the Su Family falls, dealing with you would only take a finger!"

Lin Fan chuckled, "Oh really? Three years ago, wasn’t your Su Family at the peak? Was I ever afraid of you? You personally took a check for 300,000 to negotiate with me to break up with Jinjin—did I ever care? Now your Su Family is already a sinking ship, and you’re still playing threats!"

Madam Su was trembling with anger. Lin Fan’s words had hit too close to home.

Back then, she indeed tried to leverage money against Lin Fan, thinking a poor boy like him would surely yield to such temptation. However, Lin Fan wasn’t moved at all, and later she had to forcibly send Su Jinjin abroad to break them up.

This steadfast Lin Fan left a deep impression on her, and she couldn’t believe that he hadn’t changed at all in three years.

"Lin Fan, a mere poor boy dares to look down on the Su Family? Do you really think I don’t dare to take action against you?" Madam Su sneered.

Lin Fan calmly said, "You can try. Offending me is offending Jinjin, and offending Jinjin means offending Mr. Lin."

Madam Su’s face darkened, "Are you threatening me with Mr. Lin? Are you not afraid that I might just choose to offend Mr. Lin and, in turn, get rid of Su Jinjin and teach you a lesson?"

Lin Fan replied, "You certainly could do that, but by doing so, your Su Family would likely be beyond salvation. I don’t think you’d take that path."

Madam Su scoffed. Lin Fan really had her hemmed in. She was relying on association with Mr. Lin to pull the Su Family from its predicament, even hoping to elevate it to a top-tier family.

How could she possibly act to spite herself and ruin everything over something so petty!

Lin Fan smiled, "Madam Su, today you’ve indeed had a rough time, but my intention is simply for you to treat Jinjin better. The Su Family owes her too much, and if you respect her in the future, you will earn my respect as well."

Madam Su chuckled softly—a slap followed by a sweet. How well-played.

"Lin Fan, I actually quite admire your character, and you do have some smarts. It’s just a pity you’re a poor boy. From what I know, you’re delivering parcels, right? How unfortunate—you’re from a different class than the Su Family. Your respect? I don’t need it!" Madam Su scoffed openly.

With these words, the younger Su Family members laughed again.

"Lin Fan, you’re overestimating yourself. Who do you think you are?"

Lin Fan chuckled. He wasn’t going to say it yet, but soon enough, the Su Family would know just who he was.

With Lin Fan’s current financial power, it would take merely a lift of his hand for the Su Family to meet their end without even realizing it.

Feeling she’d put Lin Fan in his place, Madam Su felt a bit better. "I came here today entirely because of Mr. Lin. Have Jinjin come out, and I’ll apologize to her."

Lin Fan gave Lin Shanshan a glance.

Lin Shanshan picked up her phone and said, "Sister Jinjin, you can speak now."

It turned out she had been connected with Su Jinjin the whole time, and Su Jinjin had heard all the previous conversation.

Su Jinjin said, "Grandma, I went back home before you arrived. In three days, I’ll go see Mr. Lin."

Everyone was stunned—Su Jinjin hadn’t been there the whole time; they’d all been played by Lin Fan.

Madam Su was relieved; it was good that Su Jinjin was willing to see Mr. Lin. There was hope for the Su Family after all.

Madam Su, with a benevolent expression, said, "Jinjin, it’s good that you’re willing to come back. In the past, it was Grandma’s fault. From now on, you can do what you love, and Grandma will never force you again."

"Thank you, Grandma."

Madam Su coldly glared at Lin Fan, "Lin Fan, let’s leave today’s matters as they are. In the future, don’t provoke my Jinjin, and stop thinking about targeting the Su Family. If it happens again, I won’t be so courteous!"

With that, she turned and left.

At the staircase entrance.

Lin Fan suddenly called out, "Madam Su, be careful on the stairs. Don’t slip and fall; you’re not as steady on your feet at your age. I wouldn’t dream of targeting you."

Madam Su stumbled and almost slipped, luckily she was supported by the younger ones, which scared her into a cold sweat.
