bChapter /bb75 /b

Aliana remained calm at Charlotte’s sharp remark. There was no reaction on her face, as if Charlotte’s words didn’t touch her in the slightest. She didn’t care about the judgment of those who misunderstood her, as long as Alicia’s vengeance could be fulfilled.

“Does Madam Charlotte not want this evidence?” Aliana asked casually, ncing at the sh drive, “In that case, I can hand it over to someone else who might need it more.”

“Wait,” Charlotte quickly stopped her. She smiled, studying the woman before her with curiosity. “So the woman who appears soposed can be impatient too. I’m very grateful that you’ve entrusted me with this evidence. I promise bI’ll /buse it wisely, just as you expect.”

Charlotte signaled to her assistant to secure the sh drive, then continued the conversation.

“By the way, I’m curious–what exactly do you want in return for this? I doubt you came here out of pure goodwill. Do you want me to introduce you to Eleanor Velor?”

Charlotte tilted her chin confidently, a faint smile curling on her lips. “I can arrange for my sister to return so you can meet her officially.”

Aliana shook her head politely. “I don’t want that, Madam Charlotte. I only want to ensure that bad people receive the punishment they deserve for their actions.”

Without waiting for further response, Aliana rose gracefully from her seat, bowed slightly, and left the room without looking back.

Charlotte could only watch Aliana’s retreating figure with a mix of wonder and admiration. She was silent for a moment, then smiled faintly.

“It seems I was wrong about you again, Aliana. You’re far more intriguing than I imagined. You truly ask for nothing in return after giving away something so valuable.”

Charlotte chuckled softly, shaking her head.

“You really are a woman full of surprises. I think I’m starting to like you even more.”

Aliana walked out of the building with confident strides, followed closely by Elena, who carried Aliana’s handbag slightly

    behind her.

The parking area was rtively quiet, with only a few cars neatly lined up. The car waiting for Aliana was already parked near the entrance, and a security guard stood alert, ready to open the door.

But suddenly, from the side, the roar of a motorcycle engine pierced the air. A ck motorcycle shot out from the corner at high speed, heading directly toward Aliana.

“Miss, watch out!” the guard shouted in panic.

Aliana, her instincts sharpened by years of training, immediately sensed the dangering her way. In a split secondb, /bbshe /bgrabbed Elena’s arm–who was still frozen, unaware of the threat–and yanked her forcefully to the side.

Both of them fell bto /bthe ground just as the motorcycle bsped /bpast their previous bposition/bb, /bbmissing /bbthem /bby bonly /ba few centimeters. The sound of screeching tires filled the air, along with the sharp scent of burnt brubber/bb. /bbThe /bmotorcycle disappeared quickly, racing out of the parking lot.

Still shaken, Elena turned to Aliana with panic in her eyes, her breath ragged.

    “Miss, are you alright?”

“I’m fine,” Aliana replied shortly but firmly as she slowly stood up, her eyes sharply following the direction the motorcycle had gone.

The security team moved swiftly. Some guards chased after the perpetrator, while others quickly formed a protective circle around Aliana.

Nearby visitors who had witnessed the incident looked stunned–some had already pulled out their phones to record the sudden attack. Murmurs of concern filled the parking lot.

“Miss, we need to get you out of here immediately,” one of the guards said seriously as he opened the car door for Aliana and Elena.

Aliana gave a brief nod, her face expressionless, showing not even the slightest hint of fear. But deep down, she knew bthis /bwas no random ident. Someone had just tried to kill her–deliberately.

Once inside the car, silence filled the cabin as the vehicle began to pull away from the scene.

Elena, sitting beside Aliana, looked visibly distressed. She quickly reached for Aliana’s hand, her worried eyes scanning Aliana from head to toe.

“Miss, are you really okay?” Elena asked in a trembling voice. “Are you hurt anywhere?”

Aliana remained quiet, seemingly lost in her thoughts. Her cold gaze was fixed on the window, not revealing a trace of fear -even though she had just narrowly escaped death.

She exhaled slowly. “I’m fine, Elena.”

Elena let out a breath of relief, though her heart still throbbed with unease. “Do you have any idea who that was, Miss? Why would someone want to harm you?”

Aliana didn’t respond immediately. She closed her eyes for a moment, reying the incident in her mind. The image of a masked face shed clearly in her memory.

    “Kestrel,” Aliana murmured, barely audible.

Elena furrowed her brows in confusion. Who?”

Aliana opened her eyes again, realizing she had spoken the name unintentionally.

“It’s nothing. Just someone I know,” she replied curtly, not intending to exin further. “Don’t worry about bit/bb, /bElena. I’m

    safe now.”

Elena fell silent, though her mind was still crowded with questions.

Meanwhile, Aliana’s thoughts continued to race. She was baffled by Kestrel’s recklessness he was ba /bbprofessional /b12 known for his precision and discretion. He never left traces. But this time was different. His actions had been bbold/bb, /balmost bas /bif he was sending a message.

He knows, Aliana thought. He knows that Aliana Velor and Nyx are the same person.

    It made no sense.

    What’s his motive?

She began to suspect that Kestrel might be working for someone else this time. As a mercenary, he never killed without reason–someone had to have paid him. The pressing question now was: who?

Elsewhere, Charlotte Dcroix had just exited the same building, only to witness themotion still lingering in the parking lot. Her expression turned shocked and tense as she noticed Aliana’s car driving away from the scene.

“Aliana… is that girl alright?” Charlotte asked her assistant, her tone serious and filled with concern. She hadn’t expected that, after just praising Aliana for her boldness, the young woman would be the target of an attempted hit–and–runb. /b

“Miss Aliana is unharmed, Madam,” her assistant replied, having already gathered the avable informationb. /bb“/bFortunately, one of the guards noticed in time and helped her escape.”

Charlotte felt a wave of relief wash over her. She stepped into her own car.

She realized then that whatever was happening around Aliana was undoubtedly tied to the increasingly tangled conflicts within the Velor family.

With a grave look in her eyes, Charlotte took out her phone and sent a message to someone.

“The Velors are never free of chaos. I suppose I owe the girl some help.”

She slipped the phone back into her purse.

In her own car, Aliana sat silently, her breath steady and gaze unwavering as the city passed by in a blur.

    Her phone buzzed.

A message from Rafe appeared on the screen:

“Miss, are iyou /ialright? I just saw the news. What happened?”

Aliana typed a brief yet clear reply:

“I’m fine. Nothing to worry about.”

    Rafe’s reply came within seconds.

“Thank goodness. Should I increase security?”

Aliana tapped the screen of her phone, pausing for a moment to think before responding.

“No need. I want to know have you found Kestrel’s whereaboutsb?/b”

It took a few minutes before Rafe finally replied.

b“/bNot yet, Miss. I’m still tracing his trail. But word from the lower ranks says Kestrel was busyst night he was blooking /bbfor /b

    Julianb./bb” /b

Aliana’s eyes narrowed instantly. Her suspicion was right. Kestrel must have found out about Julian’s capture.

She quickly typed out her next message.

“Then use Julian to draw him out. Leak false information about Julian’s location to the undergroundwork. Make sure Kestrel hears it.”

Rafe’s reply was short and firm.

“Understood, Miss. I’ll see to it immediately.”

Aliana leaned back in her seat, her expression serious. Though she had just narrowly escaped an attempt on her lifeb, /bbnot /bba /btrace of fear lingered in her eyes. On the contrary, the incident had only fueled her determination to hunt Kestrel down.

With a cold gaze fixed on the passing city outside the window, Aliana whispered under her breath,

“Now, I’ll be the one hunting you… Kestrel.”
