CHAPTER 278: CHAPTER 279 THE TRUTH 16

She felt a warm liquid flowing from her lower body, her face turned pale, and beads of sweat appeared on her forehead.

Huo Group.

In the top-floor meeting room, the atmosphere was unusually tense, and everyone held their breath, not daring to make a sound.

"Speak! What the hell is going on!" Huo Shaohua irritably tore off his tie, stood up, and walked behind each executive, scrutinizing them.

These people took his money but didn’t have the capability to get the job he assigned done properly.

Millions-worth of business, lost just like that!

"President Huo, we really did our best!" The advertising manager mustered up the courage to respond. The advertising plan that President Huo wanted was too difficult and the budget was limited, making it impossible to deliver.

"Did your best?" Huo Shaohua raised his brows and sneered. These guys were really good at finding excuses for their failures.

"Yes, President Huo, we did our best." The manager took a deep breath, clenching his hands into fists as he replied.

What he said wasn’t wrong. They had calculated it, and there was simply no way to accomplish President Huo’s plan.

They didn’t have enough manpower or funds. President Huo had only allocated a third of the necessary budget, but still expected them to make it happen with that amount.

How was that possible?

"Very well," Huo Shaohua said coldly, walking back to his seat.

He sat down and began operating his computer, with Andy assisting him.

Everyone watched him with bated breath, not knowing what President Huo would do next.

"Buzz~" The phone on the table vibrated, and everyone looked at it.

Huo Shaohua was engrossed in his computer and didn’t notice his phone ringing.

It rang again after stopping for a moment. Andy picked it up and saw the name Tian Xingyun.

She was calling repeatedly; could it be something important? Could it be about the child?

If it weren’t about the child, she wouldn’t be calling President Huo.

After hesitating for a second, he handed the phone to Huo Shaohua and leaned close to his ear, saying, "President Huo, it’s Tian Xingyun."

Huo Shaohua’s hands, quickly typing on the keyboard, stopped upon hearing the name Tian Xingyun.

He reached for the phone and immediately answered, "What’s the matter?"

"Sir, Young Madam is in the hospital, you should come quickly!" The maid’s anxious voice came through.

The next second, Huo Shaohua dashed out of the office, disappearing from everyone’s sight.

"..."

"..." Everyone was stunned. What was going on? Whose call was it that made President Huo leave in such a hurry?

Hu Yuxi glanced at Andy, who shook his head slightly, indicating he didn’t know what was happening either.

Hospital.

When Huo Shaohua arrived at the hospital, Tian Xingyun had already been moved from the emergency room to a regular ward to rest.

He strode into the ward, standing by the bed and looking at her pale face.

With a pained expression, he furrowed his brows, his chest heaving as he asked Housekeeper Liu next to him, "What happened?"

She had been fine when he left in the morning, so how did she end up in the hospital in just a few hours?

"Sir, Young Madam tripped herself in the room. She just gave birth, her body hasn’t recovered yet, and she fell, so..." Housekeeper Liu could hardly finish, feeling deeply distressed for Tian Xingyun.

"How are you all taking care of her, leaving her alone in the room!" Huo Shaohua angrily scolded.

"I’m sorry, sir!" Housekeeper Liu bowed his head in apology. They had indeed failed.

Leaving Young Madam and the little girl alone in the room had led to this incident.

"Go ask the doctor what needs to be done."

"Yes, sir." Housekeeper Liu bowed, then immediately led the other maids out, closing the door behind them.

Huo Shaohua sat by the bed, reaching out to touch Tian Xingyun’s face.

How could she be so clumsy, tripping in her own room?

She had just given birth a few days ago, how could her body handle such a fall?

How could he trust her to take care of their daughter if she was this clumsy? Both mother and daughter were causes for concern.
