CHAPTER 47: YOU CAN’T LEAVE
Silas opened his eyes to see both Ether and Matilda staring at him. There were a couple of people giving them weird glances as they passed by, and this caused Silas to make a face.
"Trust me, we are better off not knowing." Matilda said as she waved Silas off before he opened his mouth to talk. Matilda frowned, searching the crowd, "Our target has vanished."
"Our? Ho-Ho, you hold your horses young lady." Silas quickly shut her down before she could sprout anymore words, shifting his gaze from Matilda to Ether, "We’re leaving now."
Ether nodded her head, then wore a frown on her face as she took a deep sniff of their surroundings. Silas noticed the change in her expression, then he leapt back, at high alert.
"Fuck." Matilda cussed out loud as she made a grabbing motion, then blood splattered into the air. Seeing the blood, others ran off for safety while Matilda stared at the weapon.
It was a double edged blade without a hilt. She frowned, lifting her gaze and searching for the point the blade was thrown from. All she saw was a man at the top of a skyscraper.
"Is this legal?" Silas asked, preparing to ’defend’ himself. This place was chaotic for his skills, and lives could be caught in the fray, but Silas was ready to use them if he needed to.
"Not like they care." Matilda shrugged, entering a defensive stance. She began to take a few mental notes of the area, preparing to unleash a well detailed plan to get to the moron.
"No wonder the heroes association have little power here." Silas clicked his tongue, and drew in a deep breath. The second he opened his eyes, he was already miles away in the air.
The man at the top of the skyscraper dropped the grin on his face, staggering to his feet and throwing his hands. Blades formed out of the air, each one hurled at the incoming Silas.
|RuinedFrantic— Chill.
|Newsreader— this chat is noisy.
|Keyboard Warrior_76— Easy for you to say.
"Tsk." Silas clicked his tongue, grinning as the blades tore through his flesh and his red liquid rained on the terrified people, then he landed on the skyscraper with a bang, "Boo."
The man hurling blades at him fumed from fright, then tripped over his foot as he ran for the elevator. As he crashed, falling on all fours, Silas stood with an amused expression.
"Wait, a second. Let me tell you something." He heaved as he spun around, discovering that the elevator was foot far off and that his enemy was too close, "Please, don’t kill me."
"Kill you?" Silas frowned, turning to the left. He could hear helicopters approaching in the distance, then a cold grin appeared on his face, "No. You have your worth, my friend."
|[Kelvin_2076]— Are you going to leave Ether down there?
|[Ullyr]— ic.
"Hmm?" Silas paused for a moment. Two viewers with shiny tags commented, and his ratings doubled! He turned to the man trembling in front of him, then remember his "pet".
Yeah, it wasn’t a good idea to leave Ether down there with Matilda. Fortunately, Silas knew exactly what she was going to do and where she planned to do it. He approved of it.
Those helicopters must be from the order city ’peacekeepers’ or those of the resistance or probably both. Silas didn’t really are who they were, he was going to create a diversion.
’She can’t destroy that place on her own, and I can’t trust Matilda.’ Silas thought some more, then he stepped forward and grabbed the trembling man, ’I should hurry up with it.’
"We have Ice! If you let me die then she dies too!" The man screamed, his short brown locks scattered into the wind as he grabbed Silas’ arms, "You should let me leave or else—"
His gaze locked on the helicopter, then Silas assumed a throwing stance. He took a long deep breath, then tossed the man in his hands at the helicopter, watching him spiral in air.
The man opened his mouth wide and screamed out in a loud voice. He held that face of horror as he flew towards the helicopter, then he collided, slamming into it at a high speed.
The blades sliced through his head as his body burst apart in the helicopter’s windshield and blood rained to the ground. The helicopter swerved to the left, spiralling out of control.
The men and woman shrieked in fright as they got the blood all over their clothes, their eyes darting from left to right in horror. They all ducked at a sudden sound of an explosion.
The helicopter, which had spun out of control, had crashed into a building and exploded on impact. The parts of the helicopter scattered across the skies before they fell to the road.
Silas watched some getting crushed under the helicopter parts then others caught in the fire. He raised a brow, shifting his glance from them, and turned to the side, "What a mess."
From this height, he could see Ice and Matilda as they ran down Sagev Host 1. He took a step forward, then paused, "They have gone quite far on foot, but I can catch up if I hurry."
|[Ullyr]— ic. nice.
|Keyboard Warrior_76— Even [Ullyr] joins streams like these?
Silas ignored the comments, stepping to the edge of the skyscraper and then jumped off without hesitation. Silas crashed to the ground with his face, not bothering to break his fall.
’This Ullyr person must be really famous.’ Silas thought to himself as he turned towards Sagev Host 1.He took a deep breath, He took a deep breath, then dashed after his pet Ether.
’If’ I hurry?’ Silas scoffed. Everything became a blur except for his target. In the eyes of others, Silas was the one who turned into a blur, and in a blink only a mirage was left there.
In that instant, he appeared right behind Ether, leaving a gust of wind behind him. Silas reached out and grabbed Ether, and as he came to sudden halt, there was a huge explosion.
The area in front of Ether had caved in, then exploded to countless bits. Matilda turned to stare at her, tripping over the debris and falling over, stumbling across the road in shock.
Ether was frozen, with Silas’ hand latched on her shoulder. Her legs were rooted in the road, and his was knee deep. The two woman standing near them were thrown into the air.
"Where do you think you are going..." Silas lowered his head to whisper in her ears in a cold voice, his eyes gleaming in a cruel light as she stared back, "...without my permission?"
