CHAPTER 442: PART 2: SAVING THE CITY C

City C (14th Zone):

In his bedroom, Jeremy took out his digital device but noticed there was no signal. His eyes flashed with disappointment.

He put the device away and began to ponder. He thought Elder Harris might have a way to contact the higher-ups, so there was no need to worry too much.

Still, he was concerned about his father, hoping he wouldn’t do anything reckless. Things had spiraled out of control.

Jeremy hadn’t expected a Horned Lizard to appear. He didn’t know what was happening in the wilderness.

The Horned Lizard had a formidable body, and he was curious to know whether Elder Harris had defeated it.

---

Meanwhile:

The Horned Lizard was disturbed by an irritating aura and awoke from its deep sleep.

The next moment, it noticed a powerful Beast Tamer. It recalled the human prey previously trapped in a deep pit, but now that prey had escaped.

There was no sign of the human. Instead, a formidable opponent stood before it.

Boom!

The Horned Lizard stood up and swung its long tail at the Beast Tamer.

Elder Harris saw the tail coming and dodged the attack. The tail swept past, striking empty air, creating a shocking force. When the Horned Lizard missed, it attacked again.

Boom! Boom!

One booming sound followed another as the tail missed repeatedly. Harris assessed the Horned Lizard’s strength.

If it weren’t a Tier-6 Corrupted Beast, he would have been in serious trouble.

The four Beast Tamers watching from behind were gripped by fear. Rory, as he had suspected, realized the Horned Lizard was far from weak.

It seemed stronger than the average Tier-6 Corrupted Beast.

A few minutes later, just as Harris decided to summon his Lifeline Beast, he noticed the Horned Lizard preparing something.

He immediately ordered the Beast Tamers to retreat farther back.

Boom!

The next second, several boulders flew toward Harris and the others.

The Horned Lizard was using its ability to manipulate the rocky terrain, hurling massive boulders at them. The boulders struck the ground, creating enormous craters.

The four Beast Tamers had retreated to a safer distance and watched as each boulder left massive craters. Their faces paled in shock.

Harris’s eyes turned cold. He summoned his Lifeline Beast, and a 15-foot-tall black ape appeared. It immediately charged at the Horned Lizard.

Boom!

A terrific shockwave spread across the area. Harris instructed the black ape to drag the Horned Lizard away, as they were still too close to the city.

The massive ape pulled the Horned Lizard, rolling its huge body sideways into the wilderness.

Harris sighed in relief as the ape took the beast away. He had a reason for this: he didn’t want the fight to attract other beasts.

He suspected his earlier battle with the Tier-5 Worm Beast had drawn the Horned Lizard out, and he wanted to avoid luring more.

The black ape dragged the Horned Lizard into an unexplored area untouched by Beast Tamers. Harris arrived at the spot and saw a fierce battle between the Horned Lizard and the black ape.

Observing that the ape was holding its own, he confirmed the Horned Lizard was indeed a Tier-6 Corrupted Beast.

As time passed, nearing early morning, the injured Horned Lizard fled deeper into the unexplored area.

Harris sighed in relief but felt uneasy about the uncharted territory.

He recalled his Lifeline Beast, and the black ape returned to his mental zone. Harris then turned and headed back to the city.

It didn’t take long for him to reach the previous spot, where his team awaited. Seeing him, Rory and the three female Beast Tamers stood up from a bedrock, relieved.

Rory had been more frightened than the others.

"The Horned Lizard fled to the unexplored area. It won’t return. We can go home," Harris said.

Rory and the others nodded, and they began their journey back to the city. On the way, they met the Patrol Guards and Family Head Guards, instructing them to return as well.

About twenty minutes later, Elder Harris and his team arrived at the administration building, where they met Ron Night and the other two City Governors.

Harris explained the situation, and upon learning the Horned Lizard was gone, the Governors sighed in relief. Their earlier worries eased.

Harris’s expression grew solemn, a hint of anger in his eyes. He looked at Ron Night and asked, "Where is your son?"

Ron was stunned but quickly replied, "He’s at home. I barred him from leaving."

"Tell him to return to his organization," Harris said. "He’s causing unnecessary trouble. If the Human Alliance learns of his actions, it won’t end well for him."

Ron was alarmed, and the other two Governors were shocked. Ron nodded in agreement.

Harris announced he was leaving with his team but said they could contact him if another urgent situation arose.

The low natural energy in the atmosphere made him uncomfortable, and he wanted to return to City A so his black ape could recover faster.

By noon, the team had reached City A. Harris went to the office to report, intending to inform the City Governors about Jeremy Night.

Though Jeremy’s actions were reckless, they had inadvertently lured out dangerous beasts threatening City C. In the future, City C might need higher-tier Beast Tamers to patrol.

It didn’t take long for City Governor Elton and the other two Governors to learn of the events.

They were aware of Jeremy Night’s unique status, which made it difficult to target him. Moreover, the incident had occurred in Jeremy’s home city.

City Governor Elton and the other Governors could understand Jeremy Night’s state of mind. Elton decided to take action.

The changes in the wilderness were unpredictable, and they needed to report to the Human Alliance first.

Just then, Elton received a call from Dean Carolyn. He answered and briefed her on the recent events.

Dean Carolyn was dumbfounded. She hadn’t expected Jeremy to be involved in such a significant problem. This time, the issue seemed immense.

She decided to send a few academy elders to City C first. The changes in the wilderness were making her worry.
