City C (10th Zone):

Now, John was driving towards the human settlement. Jeremy was viewing the passing scenes. Each city was different. He didn't know how strong the beast tamers here were.

Meanwhile,

The professional killer was chasing Jeremy Night's car from another vehicle. He had received a different task in this city, where Jeremy Night was going to join the patrol team at the human settlement.

The professional killer was going to join one of the teams patrolling the city wall. So, he had to make a plan to eliminate the target.

The killer's name was Harold. He was a Tier-4 Beast Tamer. He is working for a small mercenary organisation. His organisation works for many big organisations.

One of them was the Sun Wheel Organisation. Inside, the organisation did legal and good work. But outside, the organisation did a lot of shady work, including the work of professional killers.

Now, Harold was happy about the target, because the target was the easiest amongst all the targets.

The target was just a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. He had decided to kill the target once he went into the wilderness.

It didn't take long for the cars to reach the area of the human settlement. The flying car landed in front of the Human Settlement.

After parking the car, John walked out first. Seeing that, Jeremy exited the car. His gaze immediately fell on the name board ahead.

[Sunset Human Settlement]

It was the name of the Human Settlement here. John came to his side.

John looked at the same sign board before saying,

"Sunset Human Settlement has less than a few thousand people. So we've got not more than 10 teams here. You will be joining one of the teams."

Hearing that, Jeremy's eyes flickered with understanding. He had thought the population would be larger.

"I'll do my best here," Jeremy replied.

John smiled and started guiding him to the settlement.

Shortly afterwards,

Another black car landed at the place. Harold stepped out. His gaze fell on the car ahead and the human settlement.

There was no need to collect information. He could guess that the target had come here to join one of the teams.

He then decided to leave right now. He had to join his own team first. He would be back some other time. Then he left in the same car.

Meanwhile,

Jeremy was walking along with John to the office. He saw the settlement was neat and clear, with wider roads. It was suitable for the lifeline beasts to walk on.

While walking, he came across a small medic clinic for both humans and lifeline beasts. Seeing that, he was more surprised.

Because back at home, the human settlements there were unorganised and more crowded. The facilities there were fewer. Thᴇ link to the origɪn of this information rᴇsts ɪn NoᴠᴇFɪre.nᴇt

He didn't understand why they didn't relocate people to the top 10 zones. He knew it was a bigger issue apart from the Corrupted Beasts.

Everything was controlled by the Human Alliance. If he could become part of the Human Alliance in the future, he could get some answers.

Soon, they reached the office. The office building was big. It was enough for the 10 teams to accommodate. Both of them walked inside the building.

The person in charge of the place was a Tier-4 Beast Tamer. He was an old man with a lean physique. His name was Otto. He was wearing the Beast Taming Association's uniform.

From the uniform, it was clear he was a person of the Beast Taming Association.

In the room, Jeremy greeted the old man with respect.

Otto saw the young man. His eyes flashed with surprise, because he was sensing the aura of a Tier-2 Beast Tamer.

"Are you a Tier-2 Beast Tamer?" he asked.

John's face changed. He too had felt that aura but thought it was too rude to ask.

Jeremy replied, "Yes, I am."

Instantly, Otto's expression darkened before he could say anything further.

John said, "Elder, he is from the Shadow Moon Organisation."

Otto's expression changed drastically. Now it was filled with fear and respect.

"A Tier-2 Beast Tamer from the Shadow Moon. Then there must be something special about him," Otto thought.

He immediately changed his attitude. His gaze towards the young man turned kind.

"I have heard of the Shadow Moon Organisation. It's not easy to become a member there. Can you show me your task?" Otto asked.

Hearing that, Jeremy sighed inwardly. He then took out his device and gave it to him. The old man Otto received the device and began to go through it.

A few minutes later,

"Everything is good. You are assigned to work in our patrol team. We have ten teams here. Each team has 5 members. There is no space left.

"But you can work with whichever team you want as a 6th member," Otto said.

"I'm not in a hurry. I'll look at the teams before making the decision," Jeremy replied.

Hearing that, old man Otto was not surprised. He thought that the young man was from the Shadow Moon Organisation, so his vision must be high.

Jeremy then turned towards John and thanked him.

John smiled and said, "You still have your accommodation left. If you want, you could stay in the city hotel."

Hearing that, Jeremy nodded his head. But he looked towards the old man.

"It's fine with me. You are here for temporary work. You can join the team the next morning," Otto said.

Jeremy sighed inwardly. He then thanked the old man. Then both John and Jeremy left the office. They reached outside.

John had a serious look on his face. To be honest, he was impressed with the young man here. He wanted to give him some friendly advice.

Jeremy noticed the change in John's expression as well. But he didn't ask. Soon, both of them exited the human settlement and came to the place where the car was parked.

"Jeremy, you seem to be a good young man. I want to give you some advice. Not all the teams here are friendly. They hate outsiders."

"If you were a Tier-3 or Tier-4 Beast Tamer, it wouldn't have made any difference. But you are a Tier-2 Beast Tamer. Be careful of them," John said all of a sudden.

Jeremy wasn't surprised. He knew this problem existed everywhere. He thanked him for the advice. The duo then left the city to find a good hotel.
