CHAPTER 577: CEASEFIRE

Wilderness

The Tier-7 Purple Snakes, Blood Steel Mosquitoes, and Vine Beasts were watching the battle. As per the Purple Snake’s words, they were sending their beasts.

But they soon found out that the human Beast Tamers were powerful. They were managing to kill the beasts and protect the city wall.

If this went on, all of the beasts would die. Then, the leaders would have to step inside. The Blood Steel Mosquito and Vine Beast were in a dilemma.

They couldn’t allow all their members to die. For that, they needed to get permission from the Tier-8 Beasts.

Both of them turned towards the Purple Snake.

"We can’t send more members," the Blood Steel Mosquito said.

Earlier, it had promised to send a small team. Because of the Purple Snake’s words, it had broken its own promise and sent more members.

Now, the Blood Steel Mosquito regrets it. Their population was small. If the killing went on, their whole population would shrink.

It couldn’t anger the Tier-8 Blood Steel Mosquito behind them.

It was the same case with the Vine Beast. The Tier-8 Vine Beast was sleeping. If it woke up, it would definitely create havoc.

The Purple Snake realized that it couldn’t fool them anymore. If the Tier-8 Beast behind them woke up, it wouldn’t be able to escape the consequences of fooling them or the Tier-8 Purple Snake behind itself.

They had launched the attack because of hunger. They could first digest the corpses lying in the wilderness.

The Purple Snake then agreed to a temporary ceasefire.

The Blood Steel Mosquito and the Vine Beast were relieved. It didn’t take long for the number of beasts coming out of the forest to be reduced.

Meanwhile

Jeremy Night had been watching the skies for some time. He didn’t find any chance to kill a beast for the time being.

Slowly, he started realizing that they were winning. The number of beasts flying past the city walls had reduced.

The Beast Tamers on the city walls were more relaxed. He could see all types of lifeline beasts circling in the air. They were free now.

At that time, the City Governors standing in mid-air noticed the situation.

Governor Black frowned. His gaze locked onto the forest. He could not see any beasts hiding out there. It meant the beasts had stopped coming.

Governors Chloe and Carl saw the situation as well. They called back their lifeline beasts and arrived at Governor Black’s side.

It didn’t take long for all the beasts attacking the city walls to be killed. There were no more beasts terrorizing the streets.

Governors Lucian and Serena called back their beasts and came to the sides of Governor Black and the others.

"It appears that they have stopped for now. What are you going to do next?" Lucian asked.

He was worried about the Tier-8 beasts attacking them.

Black said, "These beasts are cunning. We have to be vigilant."

"There is a chance that they will attack once we vacate the front line," Chloe said from the side.

"She is right. The Purple Snakes have potent venom. They can attack from a distance. The Purple poison could easily kill hundreds of people," Carl stated his opinion.

Governors Lucian and Serena exchanged looks. They had come to lend a hand. They could not make the decision here, but they could offer their opinions.

"Let’s just leave the front lines to the Tier-7 Beast Tamers. The Tier-8 Beast Tamers should focus on recovering first. If a Tier-8 Beast were to appear, we should be ready to stop it," Black said in a solemn tone.

Hearing that, everyone agreed.

Lucian and Serena thought it was a good idea. They ordered their team members to stay behind to assist.

Veteran Paul and a few Tier-8 Beast Tamers volunteered to stay there because they had joined the battle recently and were still at peak strength.

Then, the five City Governors went back to the City Administration building, where the various heads of the forces returned to their places to recover.

Alessandro Rossi and Matteo Rossi quickly rushed to the Rossi Family. They wanted to take a list of losses first.

At this time, both of them forgot about Jeremy Night.

Airport

Jets were still arriving at the airport. Right now, one such jet touched down on the ground. The white jet came to a halt.

Creak!

The door opened. A few people stepped outside. They were none other than Neil Moon and his friends. They were quite late, but they had arrived at their destination in the end.

Head Neil Moon immediately turned towards the City Wall. He could not see any beasts terrorizing the city, but there were Beast Tamers standing in mid-air.

They were facing the vast wilderness.

Head Neil Moon first wanted to meet Jeremy Night. He immediately called him. When the call connected, he spoke to Jeremy.

A few minutes later, he ended the call and heaved a sigh of relief. He found out Jeremy Night was fine. He was staying in the admin building near the city wall.

There was a temporary ceasefire. The corrupted beasts had stopped attacking for some reason. The City Governors had returned. The rest of them were keeping an eye on the situation.

But he was angry at the Rossi Family. He had thought Jeremy Night would be with them under their care. But he was wrong.

So, he decided to go see the City Governors first. He then left with his group of friends.

Meanwhile

Jeremy Night was speaking to Commander Bolton. Earlier, he had spoken to Head Neil. He was shocked internally that Head Neil had come for him.

Commander Bolton was just asking about his background. He was revealing some information.

"So you are originally from the 14th Zone. Then you got recruited to the 10th Zone. Now you are operating in the 9th Zone," Bolton said.

"Your experience is amazing," he added.

Hearing that, Jeremy smiled. He could tell that Commander Bolton wanted to recruit him. But he was already part of an organization.

Now that organization has another base in the 5th Zone. He was not ready to switch organizations.
