CHAPTER 219: ALL FOUR ELEMENTAL TYPES

Jason turned towards the dead bodies that were piled up in front of him, and he put his hand out and gently pet Raya on the head when she came closer and rubbed against him. Jason looked over at the boss of the swamp vipers and he whistled low when he saw the sheer size of it. Seeing it through Raya’s eyes gave him an idea of just how large it was, but there was nothing that could have prepared him for how large it would be from his own perspective! Its body alone was half as thick as Raya’s own and it was long enough to wrap around her more than six times!

"It’ll be very useful in water-type dungeons. I already have monsters for Earth, Air, and Fire, so now that I have this, I shouldn’t have any issues regardless of what type of Gate I enter."

Jason gained a small smile as this thought crossed his mind, and he put his hand out towards the pile of dead monsters and spoke while spreading out his mana.

"Resurrect."

Doon!

A pressure passed through the region and Jason watched as more than a hundred Swamp Vipers began to slither out from their bodies.

All of the regular swamp vipers were barely over a hundred in number and Jason was a little disappointed since he knew that he would have gotten more if the other superhumans hadn’t killed any of them. But Jason didn’t allow that to bother him much. Losing those many vipers in exchange for saving the lives of some people was good enough. Jason just had to find another aquatic-type gate at a later date to get more aquatic-type subordinates.

But what had really gotten Jason’s attention now was the skill that his new subordinates had given him. The ability to breathe and move around freely within any body of water was already very broken, but the upgraded skill also gave him a boost in his stats whenever he was underwater. And since Jason had still not resurrected the Boss, he knew there would still be one more upgrade for the skill.

Tens of large snakes were moving around Jason’s feet and their hisses filled the swamp and made most of the other insect and frog-type monsters run away in fear. Jason easily walked through the large circle of snakes while petting some of them on the side before reaching the large body of the boss. Jason put his hand out and spoke:

"Resurrect."

Jason’s mana surged out from his body and latched onto the boss’ soul before dragging it out in all its glory! The boss raised its head into the sky and let out a hiss that sent shivers down the spines of the weaker monsters! Its body had a shiny black luster around it, but its mouth was a cave of midnight black! It turned its head down toward Jason and Jason spread his hand invitingly for the snake to come down to him!

The snake immediately lurched towards Jason and Jason had to brace himself and plant his foot into the ground as he caught the giant creature!

Boom!

"Oof! Hahaha, you’re a big one, aren’t ya?"

Jason laughed as the snake began to slither around him while rubbing its body against his own. It let out another hiss and Jason laughed when he realized that it was trying to warn the other snakes to stay away from him. The snake was a female viper and it was very territorial towards anything it considered as its own.

"It’s fine, it’s fine. Come on, I need to check my tabs."

Jason spoke with a laugh while climbing out from the snake’s coils. He sat on the snake’s body high up in the air and let out a small sigh as he saw Raya screeching at the snake in challenge.

"No fighting, two of you. I don’t want Ragnar coming out here."

Jason reprimanded them both and he told Ragnar to calm down inside his Alternate Dimension. The large dragon was already begging Jason to unleash it upon the both of them! Jason had no intention of watching the three of his strongest subordinates fight in a swamp, so he told Ragnar to wait until he sent them back into the Alternate Dimension. They could fight all they wanted once they were in there!

Jason turned to that tab that opened in front of him.

The B Rank skill [Blessing of Neptune] has evolved into the A Rank skill [Aquamarina]

[Aquamarina: This skill encompasses all of the features of its previous forms, while also granting the user the water-based ability [Waterjet]. The skill [Waterjet] allows the user to create sonic jets underwater. These jets can be used to propel the user forward while swimming and can also be targeted towards opponents as a ranged attack.]

This skill is not evolvable.

——

Jason hummed at the new skill he got, and he decided that he would try it out the next time he was in any body of water. There were so many worlds out there that Jason was sure he would eventually end up in a Gate or a world that was located underwater. At least with this skill he wouldn’t have to worry about drowning.

Jason finally turned back towards the giant snake he was sitting on and he saw that it was giving him a curious look while waiting for his order. Jason looked up its tab and he read the information there.

——

[Swamp Viper]

[Rook Rank I]

[Hierarchy Level: 1 [0%]]

[Subordinate Count: 0/10]

[Upgrade Points: 0/50]

[Upgrade Limit: Bishop Rank III]

[MP: 3000]

——

"It’s similar to the Skyking."

Jason had this thought while comparing the tabs for the two monsters. They both had the same upgrade limit and even their mana level was the same. No wonder it had a hard time fighting against Raya. Raya was just far stronger than it was.

[Would the user like to assign a name to the new subordinate? Yes/No?]

A new tab appeared, and Jason hummed as he turned towards the large snake once more. What name would be good for a serpentine monster? Many names filtered through Jason’s mind, but in the end, only one name stuck with him.

"Salazar."

The snake hissed in delight once it heard Jason mutter the name and Jason grinned. The name was from an old show about magic that Jason had watched as a kid, and it had stuck with him because of how fitting it was.
