Strongest Necromancer System
Chapter 252: Joy and Rewards
CHAPTER 252: JOY AND REWARDS
Jason deactivated the Adamantine armor around his body and felt his cloak flutter in the dry wind as he walked forward to stare down at the prone body of the Immortal Lich.
Jason couldn’t help but admit that the Immortal Lich had truly earned its title, because even after releasing such a massive blast that killed both Ragnar as well as other Rook rank subordinates, the Immortal Lich was somehow still alive. The Lich was lying on the ground since it could no longer move at all. Its clothes had been completely destroyed, so its skeletal figure was now exposed and there were large cracks travelling across it’s entire body. Jason glanced toward the light in the center of the Lich’s chest and saw how it was flickering like a dying ember. It was obvious that the Lich was already on its final leg.
The Lich’s eyes trailed up slowly when Jason stepped in front of it, and it met Jason’s eyes with a low chuckle. So even this wasn’t enough to defeat this monster? The Lich already knew that the people of the Avaran race were demons that possessed unimaginable power, but he had hoped that he would at least be able to claim that he took down one of the Avarans in his lifetime.
"You... monster..."
The Lich spoke in a low, raspy voice, and Jason didn’t even bother to respond. Jason went to one knee and stabbed his hand into the Lich’s chest before dragging out the crystal with a heavy pull, and the Lich grunted in pain! The light in its eyes and chest finally dimmed out and the last thought the Lich had just before it died was how much it regretted not being able to complete it’s research. The Immortal Lich was no more.

The second the Lich died, all of the subordinates that it had created using parts of its mana were immediately affected! They began to fall to the ground in heaps, and Jason’s Legion could only watch with victorious gazes as their enemies died without them needing to do anything! A notification appeared in front of Jason, and Jason felt a smile spread across his lips as he read through it.

Introduction to the [Runic Arts]
+1 ??? Rank Weapon
+1 Legion Based Skill
——
Runic Arts: The Runic Arts are a special branch of magic that is commonly used by non-combatant mages or mages who do not possess a high mana capacity. Runes are magical carvings drawn in a specific language with a specific function tied to them. These carvings are drawn using special magic ink that embodies the magical affinity and function that the carver intended, and the runes can be activated by the application of a fraction of the amount of mana that would be needed to perform the Rune’s function if it were a skill. Runes are not a popular magical branch in the Primordial Expanse due to the difficulty attributed to their mastery, but any mage who has truly mastered the creation and application of runes will be capable of feats beyond mortal comprehension.
In order to advance your knowledge in Runes, the system suggests you resurrect the [Immortal Lich] and obtain his [Journal on the Runic Arts].

The user has gained ownership of the ?? Rank weapon [Death’s Mirage]
The artefact is located within the body of the dead Lich
——
The user has gained the Legion Skill [Soulmate]
Soulmate: This Legion skill allows the user to share his life force with various members of his Legion. This process ensures that if there were ever a situation when the user dies, the user will be able to return back to life by sacrificing the life of one of his Soulmates. The user can choose any number of creatures from Rook Rank I and above as his Soulmates, but the user must keep in mind that if any of his Soulmates were to be killed in battle, then the user will receive a portion of the damage done to that Soulmate in the form of both mental and physical pain. Therefore, the system advises the user to choose only very powerful creatures that do not stand the chance of being killed often as the user’s Soulmates.

Jason heard the sound of all the notifications appearing on his system, but Jason ignored them for now! Jason looked down at the crystal in his hand and felt a surge of happiness spreading out from inside him as he realized that he had actually done it! He finally got everything he needed for Gina’s resurrection! Jason wasn’t normally the sort of person to express his emotions loudly or intensely, but at that moment, Jason didn’t bother trying to stop himself as he squeezed his hand into a fist and shouted into the sky!
"I FUCKING DID IT!!"
Jason’s voice echoed through the entire world in his excitement, and he smiled widely while staring down at the large Magical Crystal in his hand! Jason felt a feeling of pure excitement fill his heart, and he laughed before releasing a hard breath! Even though Jason had set his mind toward completing this task, he still knew that there were many things that could have gone wrong! The fact that he was here right now was only because he made sure everything was done perfectly!
Jason finally decided to read through the notifications that the system just sent to him, and he felt shocked when he saw the new Legion skill that he had gotten. The ability to share his soul amongst his subordinates was an amazing advantage, and Jason could immediately think of many ways to use something like this to his advantage! Jason read through the rest of the skill description and he frowned slightly when he saw that he would have to be careful when choosing the subordinates. If he chose the wrong one, then he would suffer some damage if they were killed in battle.
’That means I have to pick the strongest subordinates that are less likely to be killed. If I choose a weak one, then I might end up being distracted in the middle of an important battle when they’re killed.’
Jason released a calm sigh before shaking his head and turning toward the artefact that the system gave him. Jason looked down at the dead Lich and saw something glint from within the it’s body. He leaned down to pick it up, and hummed in surprise when he saw what it was. It was a simple hilt that you would normally use to wield a longsword. It had a pommel made from silver, and the hilt itself fit in Jason’s hand like it had been made specifically for him. There was no blade attached to the pommel and Jason felt a frown form on his face as he activated [Appraisal].

Death’s Mirage
Rank: ??
Durability: 100% [Dynamic]
Description: A sword created by the Immortal Lich fifty years ago in his attempt to absorb more power from the [Rivers of the Afterlife]. The weapon possesses the unique ability to summon and retain mana from a plane outside the world of the living, and that power can be manifested in the form of a blade created from the soul of the undead. The Lich was incapable of using this weapon since it required a living soul for it to bond to so he was never able to determine just how powerful the weapon could become. In order to use this weapon properly, the user must first carry out a Runic Ritual that would allow him to bond it to his soul permanently.
