CHAPTER 279: YOU DON’T WANT ANY PROBLEMS, TRUST ME.
ROARRRR!
The dragon released its flames towards Jason as it continued diving down, and Jason felt a strange amusement rising from his chest as he covered his hands in the metallic silver of the [Exoskeletal Armor] and put it in front of him! The dragon’s flames slammed into Jason’s hand with impossible force, and it continued to wash over Jason until the dragon divebombed into the building he was standing on!
BOOM!
The entire building crumbled from the force of the impact, and a large dust cloud rose into the air as the building came down. Gina turned away from her own battle when she noticed that Jason had been attacked, and she quickly called out through their link!
’Jason, are you alright!?’
For a moment, there was no response from Jason, and Gina felt genuine fear fill her heart, but then a calm hum came from the mental link as Jason responded.
’Yeah, I’m fine. Just focus on your fight, babe.’
Gina let out a sigh of relief when she heard Jason’s answer, and she turned and commanded her subordinates to charge forward again. The dust cloud around Jason slowly cleared up, and it showed Jason standing on the body of a dead dragon. Jason had stabbed his hand through the dragon’s head and killed it in one attack and Jason’s blood-stained hand was currently wrapped around Grinot’s neck as he lifted him off the ground! Grinot glared down at Jason in anger as he tried to strike him with his sword, but Jason easily caught the arm and twisted the sword out of his grip! Jason’s hand began to tighten around Grinot’s neck and Grinot let out a grunt of pain as he tried to kick himself away from Jason! But Grinot was only an S rank, so there was nothing he could do against an SS rank like Jason! Jason’s eyes were set in a completely expressionless look as his hand continued to tighten, but a voice suddenly spoke from behind him.
"Wait, don’t kill him. I believe he is the leader of the attackers. He needs to answer for his crimes."
Jason turned around calmly to see who had spoken, and he raised a brow when he saw a male Enforcer that he didn’t recognize. The man was wearing an outfit that was similar to the one Jason had seen on Agiel back in the SMD building, and Jason could only guess that he was a commander. The Enforcer was holding twin swords that were glowing red with heat, and he gave Grinot a hard look before looking back at Jason while saying,
"That man needs to explain why he came here and destroyed our city unprovoked. He cannot die until he gives us the answers we want."
Luthor had been trying to understand the motive of these attackers since their fight started, but he hadn’t been able to because they spoke different languages. But now that there was a way for Luthor to understand them, Luthor wanted to know what the hell they had come here for! Unlike the Magis Beasts that were no different from wild animals, these attackers were obviously intelligent beings, so there was no way they attacked this city for no reason! Luthor was talking in a calm, sensible manner, but Luthor couldn’t deny that he also wanted to stab his sword right into Grinot’s heart!
Luthor felt his hands tighten around his swords, and he had to force himself to calm down! He wasn’t the sort of person who would ever allow his emotions to get the better of him like this. As a former soldier, Luthor was already used to seeing the horrors of war, and he shouldn’t allow his emotions to run wild! But Luthor couldn’t stop the anger that was rising from his heart as he looked at Grinot! An attack of this scale and the amount of destruction done here would set this city back for years and cost the citizens billions of dollars! It would take a miracle for many of them to ever recover! Luthor wanted Grinot dead, but there was no way Luthor would allow the mastermind to be killed before he found out why they came here!
Jason hummed after hearing what Luthor had to say. Luthor’s reason for wanting Grinot to live was sensible, and if Jason had been anyone else, then he would have agreed to do as Luthor said. But Jason didn’t need someone to be alive before he could find out everything that they were hiding from him. As far as Jason was concerned, this bastard was more useful to him dead than alive!
Jason reached up and grabbed Grinot’s head, and Luthor’s eyes widened in shock as Jason ripped the head off the body in one smooth move! Blood sprayed out from Grinot’s body like a geyser, and Jason calmly allowed the body to fall at his feet with a ’thud’.

Luthor let out a low growl before he pointed his sword at Jason!
"I demand a reason for this! And if I do not like what I hear, then you and I will have problems!"
Jason glanced back at Luthor with a curious gaze while calmly flicking the extra blood off his hands, and Jason almost felt like laughing in that moment! Problems? Did Luthor really think he would survive having a problem with Jason? Jason’s gaze grew heavier the longer it stayed on Luthor, and Luthor felt a shiver go through his body after a few seconds. But Luthor was not a coward who would cower before anyone. Even though Jason was obviously stronger than him, Luthor stood his ground and waited for a proper explanation for killing Grinot! Jason took up Grinot’s sword, and he looked it over with a critical eye as he spoke to Luthor.
"You don’t need to speak to him to understand what they’re doing here. I can tell you that right now. That Yellow Gate over there is a pathway to another world called Radagan. That world is in the middle of a civil war right now, and their tyrant leader sent these soldiers here to find the former princess of their kingdom so he can end the royal bloodline once and for all and become the new king."
Luthor blinked, and then he blinked again before his face suddenly squeezed into a look of absolute disbelief! What the actual fuck was Jason talking about? Luthor had heard a lot of outlandish things in his life but that entire statement from Jason had to be the craziest thing that Luthor had ever heard! Another world? A tyrant leader? A princess? It sounded like something fictional and completely made up, and for a long moment, Luthor looked like he wasn’t going to believe it. But then Luthor looked around him at all the dragons and monsters that were fighting with magic and superhuman powers, and he decided that maybe something like this wasn’t the most outlandish thing he had ever heard. But it was still hard to believe it.
"Do you have any proof of this claim?"
Jason shrugged as his [Appraisal] brought up a description for the sword. It was an S-rank artefact that had a similar design to the [Common Dragonsteel Sword], but this one was named the [High Dragonsteel Sword]. It didn’t have any added properties or effects, and the only advantage it had over the [Common Dragonsteel Sword] was the fact that it was stronger. Jason gave a few practiced swings with the sword before nodding in satisfaction. This would have to do until Jason managed to bind the [Death’s Mirage] to himself later! Jason finally turned to Luthor and said,
"I was the one who told Liam about the Yellow Gate and made him gather the superhumans that fought here today, so I’m going to tell you the same thing that I told him. You have no assurances other than my word. It’s up to you if you want to believe it or not."
