CHAPTER 324: A SURGE OF POWER

The dragons in Jason’s Legion were in the same Rank as the Radagan dragons, but the difference between both of them was the fact that Jason’s subordinates weren’t afraid of death! Their only mission in life was to complete their King’s orders and they would happily put their lives on the line to complete this mission! And that was how one of Jason’s dragons gave up its life and allowed a Radagan dragon to bite its head clean off, only for both of them to be swallowed whole by a large Necrotic worm that tore itself out from the ground! The lack of fear made all the difference in the battle, and it was obvious that Jason’s army was dominating! After the recent resurrection, Jason had ten Rook Rank II dragons in his Legion, and those dragons were able to immediately overwhelm the Radagan dragons and pull them to the ground!

’Aim for the eyes!’

Gina shouted her command to the skyking and all the other Falcons in Jason’s Legion and the Falcons immediately charged downwards and began unleashing attacks on the dragons to try and blind them! At the side, Francis and the other superhumans that had come here with Jason were busy taking care of the Radagan soldiers that were on the ground! The superhumans had been shocked when they came into this world, and they saw that this was actually a world filled with humanoid beings just like Jason had said! Even though they believed Jason’s words earlier, believing something and seeing it for yourself were two completely different things! But Francis and the other superhumans didn’t allow the shock of this new revelation to stop him for long! Francis was the first person to snap out of his shock, and he had immediately charged forward and gotten on the back of one of the Adamantine Ants that Jason paired him up with! All the superhumans were paired up with different subordinates from Jason’s Legion, and Jason told them to depend on the subordinate if they were faced off against an enemy that was too difficult for them to handle on their own! And it turned out that Jason’s plan was the only thing that prevented most of them from dying!

The soldiers were strong! They were so strong that it was almost impossible for the superhumans to comprehend their power! Even though Jason had warned them about these men all being soldiers who had trained their whole lives for battle, nothing could have prepared Francis for the sheer skill that the soldiers had! Francis could feel that most of the soldiers were also S Ranks like him, but he didn’t know if there was anything that he could do against them! The first soldier that Francis faced off against was a woman with a stern face and a long, thin sword that burst with flames from her mana! Francis had attacked her along with the Adamantine Ant, but he had almost lost his head when she suddenly charged forward and swiped towards his neck! Francis suddenly ducked quickly to avoid the attack, and he watched as the Adamantine Ant helped him tackle the woman to the ground! But the Adamantine Ant was not as strong as her, so she easily pushed it off and slashed it in half with her sword! Francis immediately activated his Gift, and the ten metallic bands in his hands latched off and shot towards the woman like rockets!

Clang! Clang! Clang! Clang!

The woman managed to deflect more than five of them, but she wasn’t fast enough to deflect the rest as they slammed into her chest and threw her back! She flipped through the air and landed on the ground while holding her chest, and Francis had to steel his heart when she turned up to glare at him angrily! Her face was terrifying! The ten bands floated back towards Francis as he prepared to attack again, but he didn’t have time to do anything before a strange tiger-man beast charged in and slammed its knee in the woman’s face!

SLAM!

The woman was sent flying to the side, and she crashed into the tents behind her. Francis watched as the tiger-beast turned to him. The beast had the same body structure as a man, but its body and head were just like a tiger’s. Its body was covered in red fur, and its eyes were a glowing green. In its right hand, it was holding a Radagan soldier by the neck and it gave Francis a growl and spoke roughly.

"Don’t waste time here. Go back and help the A Ranks that are struggling. I’ll take care of these ones."

Francis blinked when he suddenly recognised the voice of the tiger! It was Rufus, the beast commander! Francis had heard that Rufus had the ability to change his body into any animal that he knew, but he didn’t know that it was this impressive! Francis thought that Rufus would literally change into the animal, not some human-beast hybrid! With these capabilities, Rufus could perform the functions of both animal and human at the same time! It was an amazing ability!

"Hey, stop zoning out and go!"

Rufus suddenly spoke up angrily and Francis nodded quickly as he recalled his bands and they latched onto his wrist again! Francis took off in the direction of another A Rank that was fighting a Radagan soldier with the help of a large spidermonkey, but Francis had to quickly jump out of the way as two humongous dragons slammed into the ground a few meters away from him and caused the entire battlefield to rumble from the impact!

BOOM!!!

The dragons released loud roars as they tried to take bites out of each other and Francis could feel the ground shaking from each move that they made! Francis cursed as he quickly focused all his power to his legs and blasted off from the ground, but he was shocked when one of the two dragons suddenly turned its head in his direction and tried to take a bite out of him! If this had been any other day, then Francis knew that he would have died at that moment, but for some reason, Francis suddenly felt a surge of power rising from deep inside him that he knew he didn’t have before! Francis activated his Gift, and he sent all ten of his rings out towards the dragon’s jaw!

SLAM!

The bands slammed into the dragon’s face with extreme force and the dragon’s head shot upwards as it missed Francis easily! Francis immediately used the opportunity to make space between him and the dragon, and he watched as the other dragon that had been holding the first one down reached out to drag it back into another round of battle! Francis was still shocked by the sudden surge of energy he had experienced, but he understood what had happened when he remembered Katarina’s blessings from earlier! Francis knew that the feeling he had was the support that Katarina had given him at the start of the battle!

’So this is what it’s like to fight with the strongest supporter by your side. I feel invincible.’

Francis had fought beside some strong supporters before, so he knew what it felt like for a supporter to give you their help. It was almost like your body had a surge of adrenaline that allowed you to push yourself past your limits. But this particular level of support was something that Francis had never experienced before! It was almost like Francis had an extra reserve of energy somewhere deep inside him, and Katarina’s Gift had gone to unlock that energy!

BOOM!

A massive explosion suddenly lit up the battlefield!
