Strongest Scammer: Scamming The World, One Death At A Time
Chapter 557: Blood Flood Pill
CHAPTER 557: BLOOD FLOOD PILL
Most of the basic pills were significantly cheaper than in his old sect. The more common Qi circulation pills, vitality supplements, and stamina restorers were all listed for one to five merit points, far below what the Twin Leaf Peak Sect asked.
But others... others were strangely expensive.
A certain pill caught his eye.
The Blood Flood Pill.
When Han Yu saw it on the list, he stiffened for a moment. His eyes narrowed, and he stepped closer to the formation wall to double check.
Yes. It was the same pill.
The same Blood Flood Pill that he knew from the Great Continent.
A pill infamous for being both helpful and suicidal.
A pill that replenished blood far too quickly.
A pill that forced the user’s blood to surge violently, refilling vitality at the cost of destabilization. Most who took it would experience bleeding from their eyes, ears, nostrils, and throat. The blood pressure would spike so drastically that internal organs could burst.
Only body cultivators with monstrous regeneration and large bulky bodies could use it safely. In most cases, it wasn’t even recommended for human consumption, being only limited to large beasts.
In the Great Continent, the Blood Flood Pill was considered an inferior pill. A flawed recipe. Mostly wasted effort. The pill was cheap and rarely used.
But here?
Here it was expensive.
Priced at fifty merit points per pill.
"All right," Han Yu muttered. "That is strange."
He crossed his arms and thought about it. Why would such a dangerous pill be valuable here?
Then it hit him.
Blood Qi.
The entire sect cultivated Blood Qi and Moon Blood Qi. Their cultivation depended heavily on blood circulation, blood refining, blood vitality, and blood flow enhancement.
The Blood Flood Pill may be dangerous for normal cultivators, but for cultivators who specialized in blood energy? It might actually be incredibly effective.
The pill’s aggressive nature might be exactly what these people needed.
Han Yu felt a shiver crawl down his spine.
"In the Great Continent, the pill kills," he whispered. "But here... it probably empowers."
The value reflected the demand.
Han Yu studied the wall again and noticed many more blood based pills with exceptionally high prices. Some restorative pills were worth hundreds of points. Some vitality enhancing pills were in the thousands.
Clearly, blood cultivation required expensive support.
And clearly, Han Yu had stumbled into a sect where dangerous alchemy was highly valued.
"This place is insane," he muttered. "But profitable... very profitable." His capitalist mind was already working up plans to earn as much as profit he could from these people who wouldn’t even know he was scamming them.
He rubbed his chin thoughtfully.
If he played this right, he could learn to make these pills slowly, over time. He would need to pretend to start from scratch. He could not suddenly refine advanced pills. But if he became a recognized alchemist, then no one would be suspicious of his later proficiency.
He turned away from the wall and observed the rest of the hall.
Disciplines stood in line with paper orders. Cauldron smoke drifted. Assistants weighed out ingredients on spirit scales. Slaves carried boxes of herbs and jars of powders. All of them moved with quiet efficiency.
Han Yu exhaled slowly.
"I could get used to this place," he muttered. "As long as it does not get me killed."
With that thought lingering in his mind, he stepped deeper into the External Alchemy Hall, ready to explore further and observe more, soaking in everything he could about the place that might very well become the center of his survival.
Han Yu entered the common library area without difficulty.
A single tap of the identity token granted him access, and the barrier flickered aside smoothly. No guards challenged him. No disciples questioned him. The interior was quiet, almost eerily so, with the faint scent of old parchment and dust clinging to the air.
Long shelves stretched in all directions, filled with scrolls and books neatly categorized by rank and subject. The ceiling was high and arched, with crystal lanterns hanging above, giving soft illumination.
Han Yu walked deeper inside, scanning the shelves.
He had expected more people here. It was the Alchemy Division after all, and the sect was massive. Yet to his surprise, the common library was sparsely populated. Only a handful of disciples were present, and most ignored him completely.
A few were absorbed in their books. One person was asleep on a bench with drool dripping from his mouth. Another sat in a corner, muttering to himself about ratios and cauldrons.
Han Yu understood immediately.
The disciples of this sect were chaotic, aggressive, and unpredictable. Studious behavior was rare. Only real alchemists would bother coming to a library to study, and those alchemists would likely use the private libraries reserved for certified members.
The common section was simply too mundane for them. This made Han Yu’s task easier, as he could flip through as many books as he needed without attracting attention.
He found the organization system simple enough. Books were arranged by pill grade and category. Ingredients were grouped under herbal compendiums and alchemy resource lists. Recipe books were stacked neatly on the middle shelves.
Han Yu approached one such shelf, ran his finger along the titles, and selected a thick book labeled Intermediate Pill Formulas of the Blood Moon Continent.
He flipped through the index, scanning the names. It only took him a few seconds to find the entry for the Blood Flood Pill. He turned the pages and read carefully.
His eyes widened slightly.
"This has nothing in common with the recipe I know."
The version of the Blood Flood Pill used in the Great Continent relied on common herbs. The Blood Gooseberry, the Blood Thorn Nettles, and the Spirit Fenugreek Seeds were all ingredients practically everywhere.
They were easy to cultivate, the seeds were cheap, and most sects grew them in their gardens.
But the recipe in the book used three completely different ingredients.
