Strongest Side-Character System: Please don't steal the spotlight
Chapter 44 44: Strongest ability: Endless Doom
Vance stumbled backward, his long violet hair whipping around him as he clawed at his own chest, eyes wide with unrestrained terror. His voice cracked as he demanded, "W-What… what did you do to me!?"
The tremor in his tone betrayed the confidence he had projected all along. He could feel it—an invisible weight pressing down on his very existence, a razor-thin edge of death hovering just above him, ready to fall at Vonjo's slightest whim.
The sensation was unknown to him; it was as if some part of his soul had been claimed, tethered to the iron will of the brother he had so gleefully mocked.
Inside him, fear twisted like a snake.
His heartbeat pounded in his ears, the phantom pressure growing heavier, making it hard to breathe. He felt naked, exposed, like a condemned man kneeling before the guillotine.
His healing abilities, his vaunted Reverse Blessing that had made him arrogant beyond measure, suddenly felt meaningless.
It was as if Vonjo wished to crush him now, Vance knew, with an instinct older than thought itself, that he wouldn't be able to stop him.
Meanwhile, the bullet chats erupted with flashing lights and streams of text that filled Vonjo's vision.
VoidHunter77: "Wait… WHAT did Vonjo do? Why is Vance shaking like a leaf???"
LorthranMain: "Bruh, he has Reverse Blessing! He can HEAL! What could scare him???"
PrincessKiller9000: "Did Vonjo… steal his soul or something???"
LaughingInHell: "No way… did he just make the monster brother FEEL FEAR???"
MongrellSkinwalker: Hey, hey, hey, What is going on here? Why he chickening out all of sudden?
But Vonjo said nothing.
Instead, a slow, rumbling laugh rolled out of his chest, "haha!" a sound that cut through the charged silence like a predator announcing itself.
"Hahahahah!"
He tilted his head, dark but slightly violet hair falling over his face, and then rolled his neck with a crack that echoed across the ruined dining hall. His left hand flexed idly, like a predator testing its claws.
Then, without a word, Vonjo lifted the stump where his right arm had been.
At first, smoke still curled from the burned flesh, but something began to stir.
A ripple went through the air.
Flesh began to knit.
It started with a faint shimmer over the charred stump, as if invisible threads were weaving reality itself.

Veins pulsed into existence first, snaking outward from the shoulder, dark and wet with life. Then came the skeletal structure—thin, pale bones elongating, cracking into place, each finger forming with horrifying precision.
Muscle fibers twisted around the bone in wet cords, twitching and contracting as if hungry to move.
Fat and connective tissue spread, smoothing over the raw muscle, and finally, skin began to bloom, a living sheath wrapping everything in place.
Fingernails sprouted last, glossy and perfect, as if mocking the very idea that the arm had been lost at all.
The entire regrowth was slow, deliberate, and utterly mesmerizing. Drips of blood fell to the floor with soft plops, the only sound in the deafening quiet.
Vance's lips trembled as he unconsciously took a step back.
"What's going on?"
His earlier bravado evaporated into cold sweat. He had thought himself untouchable because of his Reverse Blessing, because he could heal from anything. But watching Vonjo regrow an arm in such an impossibly methodical and grotesquely natural way made his gut twist.
This was the very same healing he could with his reverse curse blessing.
But he could feel that it's not the same.
Vonjo's healing was like a domination of life and curse energy itself.
The bullet chats went dead silent. Even the trolls were speechless.
Behind Vonjo, Eugene's voice quivered, breaking the quiet. "S-Sir Vonjo… you… you can heal… too? Like Teacher Lorthran?" His words were half a mumble, half a prayer, but they carried through the hall like a thunderclap.
Vance's eyes widened further. "He reslly…!!?" He snapped his gaze back to Vonjo, and for the first time in years, the younger brother's voice cracked with pure disbelief.
The bullet comments erupted in a new wave of chaos.
DoomSeeker: "HE CAN HEAL??? WHAT IS HAPPENING???"
NoHandsNowFullHands: "Vonjo just GREW AN ARM LIKE A MONSTER HOLY SHT."
AngelWitness: "Does this mean… he ALSO saw the angels before they fell?? Another Reverse Blessing user???"
Vonjo's laughter thundered again, shaking the air and the hearts of everyone watching. "Hhahahahahahahah!!"
Vance swallowed hard, his entire body trembling. "Y-You… you awakened… too?"
The bullet chat went wild, entire lines of text scrolling so fast they blurred.
FallenAngelLore: "HE DID IT. HE SAW THEM. HE'S PEERLESS NOW."
HellWatcher: "Two brothers, two Reverse Blessings?? This family is a nightmare factory."
AuraFarmer: "Holy mother of God! Pray for the other Houses, the House of Sutterfouse got too many monstrous descendants."
Vonjo suddenly stilled, his eyes burning with cold amusement as he shook his head slowly. "No… no… no…" His voice was soft but cut like glass. "I did not awaken the Reverse Curse Blessing you're thinking of." He tilted his head toward Vance, voice dropping lower. "I do not need to see angels to do what I do."
The words struck like hammer blows.
The hall seemed to lean in.
Even the bullet chats were waiting and curious.
LoreHound: "Okay, spill the tea. What did he awaken, and is gonna explain his ability now that he calls himself the strongest'?"
CurseCritic: Right, two Reverse Blessings in one House is wild. But it healed too, so how similar are they to actual Reverse Curses?"
AuraAddict: I can't wait! I can't wait! Explain please, explain!
Vonjo's smirk widened into something darker. "Through the House of Sutterfouse, there has always been a power beyond the Reverse Blessing… beyond mere healing." He raised his left hand and flexed it, the new right hand still slick with fresh blood. His voice gained momentum, rich and commanding, as he explained.
"A power that devours everything… curse attacks, spiritual strikes, mental assaults, illusions born of fallen energy… all of it. I take them. I break them. I make them mine." His eyes glinted like twin abyssal stars. "Your energy, your gifts, your blessings—they belong to me the moment I choose. And when I've taken them all… I can use them. All of them. For my own benefit. For my own power."
He lifted the newly regrown hand slowly, the veins pulsing with stolen vitality. "Like this one."
The hall was silent enough to hear the drip of blood hit the scorched floor.
Behind him, Eugene shivered, the memory of their first meeting bubbling up. He whispered to himself, "Is that… why… the cursed spirit Lonely Scythe Maniken I released back then… the one that should've attacked the strongest nearby… knelt to him instead? Followed his command without resistance?" His own words made him tremble. "Sir Vonjo… is terrifying…"
Vance shook his head violently, shouting, "Y-You're lying! That's not possible!" His voice cracked into hysteria, but the trembling in his legs betrayed the fear he couldn't bury.
Vonjo merely shrugged, voice calm as a creeping tide. "Believe what you want."
"You bastard!" Vance snarled, his bravado fracturing. "Then… then what is your ability called!?"
Vonjo's smirk turned into a shadowed grin. Slowly, deliberately, he lifted his hand and pointed a single finger at his terrified brother.
"I call it…" His voice was a deep rumble, rolling with the finality of a judge's gavel.
"…the strongest ability of the House of Sutterfouse…"
He leaned forward, his whisper slicing the silence.
"Endless Doom."
