Lin Shen heard a sound and immediately felt a sense of utter despair as tears streamed down his face.

This time there was no acting involved, it was all genuine emotion.

"You're lucky I didn't cut it off. You're looking for an antidote? Deal with it yourself," Lou Ran said as she headed out of the laboratory.

Feeling helpless, Lin Shen could only follow Lou Ran out of the lab, walking strangely. It was a good thing his battle suit was restrictive enough, or he'd have been too ashamed to show his face.

"Teacher Lou Ran, I'll be taking my leave then," Lin Shen said as soon as they left the experiment building, eager to get away from Lou Ran.

"Hold on," Lou Ran called after him.

"Teacher Lou Ran, do you have any further instructions?" Lin Shen stopped reluctantly, offering Lou Ran a forced smile.

"How am I supposed to find you for the next experiment without your contact number?" Lou Ran demanded expressionlessly.

Lin Shen gave her his contact number, but when he asked for hers, she simply stated that she would contact him when necessary, without giving him any number.

Lin Shen didn't really care; he hadn't actually wanted her number anyway. He had already obtained the Fire Seed from her and didn't plan on seeing her again.

As he left the academic district, Bing Leiya was unexpectedly still waiting outside.

Upon seeing Lin Shen, Bing Leiya hurried over, "Di Esi said something was wrong with your body. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine," Lin Shen shook his head.

"Good to hear. What about the matter I mentioned? Have you thought it over?" Bing Leiya asked again.

"You go find Di Esi. If Di Esi goes, then I will," Lin Shen replied, as he had not yet attained Nirvana and needed a reliable person to accompany him.

Though not exactly a friend, Di Esi's character was trustworthy, and Lin Shen didn't have to worry about being betrayed by him.

"I'll contact Di Esi right away," Bing Leiya said somewhat reluctantly, but still proceeded to contact Di Esi according to Lin Shen's wishes.

If he were to cooperate only with Lin Shen and call upon several Nirvana Beings for help, he wouldn't need to split any Nirvana Eggs with them.

But involving Di Esi meant they would have to share a Nirvana Egg with him.@@novelbin@@

Fortunately, there were three Nirvana Eggs there, so Di Esi, Lin Shen, and Bing Leiya cooperated. Each of them was still able to obtain one without having to pay to find additional helpers.

Having calculated this, Bing Leiya felt it was acceptable. The strength of the three of them should be sufficient to secure the Asura Ghost King's Pet Eggs.

After contacting Di Esi, Di Esi readily agreed. The three set a time to go to Ghost Gate Star, and Lin Shen found a place to stay and rest in the meantime.

Thankfully, the issue he had worried about didn't occur, and after one night, a certain limb finally returned to normal, which was a great relief to him.

"These research women are too terrifying." Lin Shen had made up his mind to stay far away from Lou Ran in the future.

Di Esi and Bing Leiya came looking for Lin Shen early in the morning, but he was still lying in bed.

Although he was awake, he didn't feel like getting up and only reluctantly climbed out of bed when Di Esi and Bing Leiya came to call him.

The three headed to Ghost Gate Star together. Currently, there were four teleporters that led to Ghost Gate Star, divided among four different forces.

Three of them were already open for public use, and anyone could teleport to Ghost Gate Star for a fee.

Of course, Bing Leiya paid for the teleportation. Once the three arrived at Ghost Gate Star, Lin Shen looked around, noticing that there were only stars, no moon or sun, and the temperature was very low, yet there were no glaciers.

The gravity was stronger than on Giant Ring Star, but it didn't significantly affect them.

Surrounding them were black mountain ranges, and in the sky, streaks of light could be seen occasionally flying by, probably Nirvana Beings rushing on their way.

Many Nirvana Beings had recently come to Ghost Gate Star, all eyeing the three Pet Eggs of Asura Ghost King. Bing Leiya, fearing that delays might lead to trouble, was in a hurry to move on.

However, Lin Shen's flying speed was too slow, unable to keep up with Bing Leiya and Di Esi, who had already reached Nirvana Level.

Bing Leiya, unaware that Lin Shen was still an Ascender, puzzled over why Lin Shen flew so slowly. Yet, he didn't dare to ask in case he offended Lin Shen.

Di Esi summoned a Nirvana Level mount, inviting Lin Shen to ride together, which finally increased their speed.

Before reaching the domain of the Asura Ghost King, they saw a valley ahead filled with people, bustling like a night market, with some even setting up stalls in the valley.

The arrival of Lin Shen and his companions immediately drew the attention of many Nirvana Beings.

Bing Leiya was a very famous figure among Nirvana Beings. Not many were aware that Di Esi had achieved Nirvana, but even without Nirvana, Di Esi was always the center of attention wherever he went.

Only Lin Shen kept a low profile; due to some changes in his Carapace, which now looked quite different from his previous silver crystalline Carapace, very few people could recognize him.

Lin Shen's gaze was fixed on the end of the valley, where there was a cave. Outside the cave, several Nirvana Beings were battling a Nirvana Creature.

The Nirvana Creature resembled an Evil Ghost with a fierce appearance, nearly three meters tall, carved wholly from jade-like stone, clad in black Jade Armor and helmet, with a single horn on its head, holding a sword in one hand and a shield in the other.

The "sword", though, was slightly curved and also crafted from black jade. One side was sharpened while the other was thicker, resembling a blade more than a sword. The blade was wreathed in dark smoke as if entwined with countless tormented souls.

The shield in its other hand was shaped like the fletching of an arrow, also carved from black jade. On the front of the shield was the image of an Evil Ghost's head; its eyes, now open, were emitting a strange red glow.

The Nirvana Beings fighting it were top-tier fighters, accompanied by several formidable Nirvana pets. They were enveloped in various enhancement abilities, which made them radiate halos of multiple colors.

However, under the stare of the Evil Ghost image on the shield, their radiant halos disappeared without a trace.

Despite the interweaving Powers of Nirvana, they couldn't overcome the Nirvana Creature, which repelled all their powers with its shield. Meanwhile, the black smoke Blade Qi that its blade cut through the air brought great trouble to the Nirvana Beings with every strike.

On the ground lay several dead Nirvana pets, likely just slain by the Asura Ghost King.
